    New Kalyway 10.5.2 Release!

The same problem on Dell Vostro 1400. Is there any way to bypass kext responsible for IOAPIC?
  2. I think it worked for me some time ago on my Dell Vostro 1400 (NV 8400 GS) when I used one of the NVinject kexts (instead of NVinjectGo), but I don't know exactly which one..

    Dell Vostro 1500 Mega Thread

Do NOT choose Wireless Intel 3945 card! It won't work. Instead choose Dell 1390 or Dell 1490. They work out of the box.
  4. Thanks! Sleeping just the display works for Graphics Card acceleration. But anyway, I have to sleep my computer after startup to make my sound work with speakers (Sigmatel 9228). Without sleep it works only once at 10 times:) I removed AppleAzalia.kext but it didn't help.
  5. Have you tested your graphics card for Hardware Acceleration? I used GioFX OpenMark (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/OpenMark.shtml) and after system startup it runs quite slow - I got ~175 points. (even thou the system preferences shows full QE/CI acceleration) But after sleep/wake-up (actually sleep does not work properly; it wakes up immediately) operation, Graphics Acceleration just BOOSTS to ~1370 points! And I see a huge difference in graphics speed even on my desktop! The same "BOOST" effect takes place right after I attach external monitor and click "Detect Displays". Those who have GeForce 8400M GS card, please test your card with OpenMark and post your result. Or maybe someone have a resolution to my problem? Anyone have full acceleration right after system startup??? My laptop: Dell Vostro 1400 NVidia 8400M GS Sigmatel 9228 Dell Wifi 1390

Try to "sleep" the computer. It works for me!

It worked!! Actually, it is not the lid closing that helps, but the sleep operation.
  8. I've noticed strange thing on my laptop. System detects my graphics car (NVidia 8400M GS) with support for QE/CI. But when I connected my external monitor I just realized that the 3D acceleration has started working at last! Before I conecteds my monitor OpenMark benchmark showed ~174 points, and after I connected monitor it BOOSTS to 1200 points! When I plug out the monitor it is still working! But then when I clicked "Detect Displays" again it stops to work, and I got 174 points again... Does anyone had the same issue? Why the QE/CI does not work on my internal display? Is it related to the NVCAP entry somehow? My configuration: Dell Vostro 1400 Graphics: NVidia 8400M GS 128MB OS: Leopard 10.5.1 + NVidia kexts 10.5.2+ and system updates from Apple site

I got the same problem. Yesterday my sound has gone! I tried to reboot, reinstall kexts but nothing.. I think there's some problem with the sound initialization. The sound preferences remains unchanged.. I'll try today the trick with the lid:) Thanks

AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

I got this codec dump from a working Ubuntu installation. After Ubuntu installation I had the same problem as on a Mac - I heard the sound only thru headphones. But I found how to fix it - I've added this line to the ALSA driver configuration (/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base): options snd-hda-intel model=3stack Now the speakers work perfectly! And when I plugged-in my headphones, speakers are mute! So I dumped the codec entries from /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 (it is attached to this mail). And tihs codec file is much different from the one I got before applying this options line, so it got to be working! I tried it with AppleHDA.patcher 1.16, but there's no change, still I hear the sound only via headphones:( I will try 1.17 later, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work... Maybe the patcher does not set all the parameters form the codec file correctly?? Please help me with that. P.S. I got Dell Vostro 1400 laptop (Sigmatel 9228 audio codec) stac9228_3stack.txt
