  1. 10.13.4 beta 5, using .161… DVD Features says HD is Unsupported (on a 1080 Ti)… WAT?! :X
  2. My reaction to this is that a pretty fancy designer switched to macOS recently and thinks he knows how macOS should *look*… Honestly, it looks like an information design disaster in most cases. Some of the root concepts are interesting, but the interface execution is "oh look, it's macOS so all it needs to be is fancy looking"… which couldn't be farther from the truth for anyone who truly uses macOS. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. FWIW, I'm running a 770 and I get the lag…
  4. What is the last version compatible with Maxwell? I've been going "backwards" and I'm at 378.10.10.10.25.106 and it's still not compatible… PS: I'm on a 770. EDIT: It does work natively but it's been insanely laggy in 10.13.3 so I was hoping the Web Drivers would help with that…

    Clover General discussion

    Using Clover Configurator and trying to disable EFILoginHiDPI by setting it to 0. nvram -p tells me it's set to %00%00%00%00 but I'm still getting the "retina" login screen…

    NVMe native support in 10.13 :)

    Not sure if my Corsair MP500 is simply not supported or if the fact that I have to use a PCIe M.2 adapter is what's breaking it (my Asus P9X79-E WS doesn't have M.2 slots), but it works with `HackrVMmeFamily.kext` in 10.12 but I not natively in 10.13...

    Mac os High sierra installation attempts

    I have Clover running from a USB drive, separate from either drive. I did use APFS (the drive does show up on my 10.12.4 install). EDIT: Come to think of it, I probably need an APFS driver for Clover... <- this was it! PS: That was the easiest installation of a new major version (especially including a FS change) ever! Ran the regular installer from 10.12.x (to a new drive), kept the exact same Clover settings + added the apfs.efi driver, and we're in! Now I need to get my NVMe drive working here (Corsair MP500 on a PCIe adapter)...

    Mac os High sierra installation attempts

    Installed HS for the first time with Beta 2. Used the regular Apple installer (to a different drive), rebooted into the installer just fine (nv_disable=1), but after the installation completed and I rebooted, HS partition is no longer visible in Clover. I rebooted into Sierra, and checked: there's a boot.efi present in S/L/CoreServices... Also, installer doesn't have any files anymore. New installer is like 20Mb... Files also don't seem to be in /L/Updates as some have pointed out... :X
  9. Ahhh! That makes more sense!! Fantastic!! Thank you so much for your help, sir! <3
  10. Fair enough! I'm going through the guide. I ran into a hitch though: my drive is on a PCIe adapter and I'm missing some ACPI addresses. I'm looking through your guide for that, but I'm not sure how to process my specific case, considering I have a PCI(0000).PCI(0080).PCI(0000). I'm assuming I have to create an additional device for the first PCI(0000), which then the PCI(0800) can be assigned under, which in turn can get the last PCI(0000) (which we'll call SSD0) under itself. Would the following make sense? // Inject bogus class-code for NVMe SSD to prevent IONVMeFamily.kext from loading DefinitionBlock("", "SSDT", 2, "hack", "NVMe-Pcc", 0) { External(_SB.PCI0.NPE3, DeviceObj) // create identities for the bridges @0, @8 and SSD0 @0 Device(_SB.PCI0.NPE3.PBR0) { Name(_ADR, 0x00000000) // corresponds to #PCI(0000), MSW byte reversed Device(PBR8) { Name(_ADR, 0) } // corresponds to #PCI(0800) } Device(_SB.PCI0.NPE3.PBR0.PBR8) { Name(_ADR, 0x00080000) // corresponds to #PCI(0800), MSW byte reversed Device(SSD0) { Name(_ADR, 0) } // corresponds to #PCI(0000) } // now we can inject the _DSM at the newly created ACPI path Method(_SB.PCI0.NPE3.PBR0.PBR8.SSD0._DSM, 4) { If (!Arg2) { Return (Buffer() { 0x03 } ) } Return(Package() { "class-code", Buffer() { 0xff, 0x08, 0x01, 0x00 }, "built-in", Buffer() { 0 }, }) } } //EOF
  11. From reading your other posts, I realize the "class-code spoof" includes both the "--spoof" when generating the HackrNVMeFamily but also some DSDT editing? Is that right? What changes should I make to my DSDT? Thank you for all your work and help RehabMan! <3
  12. From what I can gather, this should work with the patch-nvme script because the ID of this drive is already there ("pci1987,5007", same as "Zotac Sonix PCIe 480gb)… I'm confused why it's not working… UPDATE: Rebooted again back with a freshly patched HackrNVMeFamily kext. Seems like I get some additional error info: and then, similar as before: Seems like a block size error, doesn't? Hope this helps!
  13. So, delete HackrNVMeFamily kext and just use that single patch via config.plist? Thank you! UPDATE: Tried the Lite-On patch, no workie. Still detecting the "Apple SSD Controller" (in System Information), but still not populating it with the drive. I did notice an NVMe error during verbose boot: "virtual bool IONVMeBlockStorageDevice::start(IOService *)::324:failed with status = 0xe00002c7) AppleNVMe Assert failed: result StartFailureExit ....etc etc....." Also, is there a way to get the verbose boot output in a file? I can't find that log anywhere… I have to video with my phone to get the above log! Thanks! UPDATE 2: removing the config.plist patch AND the kext gives me the same result: "Apple SSD Controller" is detected in System Information/NVMExpress but no drives…
  14. I have this drive (Corsair MP500 480GB) and its PCI ID info. How do I patch it to work? Already have `HackrNVMeFamily.kext` ready (System Information already detects NVMe activated, but no drives ATM). Thanks. EDIT: Attached screenshots of IORegistryExplorer. Drive shows up there perfectly…

    Clover General discussion

    I'm having a super strange issue with Clover: I see no bottom row with extra options AND pressing space bar, although it brings up the boot options for that specific device, I can't pick any: as soon as I hit spacebar or enter on any of the, Clover freezes and I need to reboot the whole computer. Running 3811 and this had been happening before already...
