    Site Issues

I try uploading the zip, the raw file, none of it works. It just does the same thing. Wether I select it from the choose files link or drag the files into the area.

    Site Issues

I am experiencing errors trying to upload any file at any file size. I see there is currently a file size limit of 2MB, but as I was uploading a DSDT file (135K)...it tossed an error and said I needed to contact support.
  3. Hey everyone,So I decided to move on from my aging Alienware M15x and graduate to something newer. I picked up an HP Elitebook 8770w Mobile Workstation laptop and also added some upgrades. In theory, it should be a lot more compatible than my older laptop. But of course, I ran into some trouble. Let me provide a little information about it. First, ze specks!HP Elitebook 8770w Mobile Workstation --Intel QM77 Mobile Express ChipsetIntel Core i7-3840QM Mobile Processor (2.8Ghz Base / 3.8Ghz Turbo)16GB Crucial Balistix Sport DDR3 1600Mhz RamnVidia Geforce GTX 970M 6GB GDDR5 Graphics (No Intel iGPU, it is turned off by OEM/BIOS)1x 480GB Seagate 600 SSD (Win10) / 1x 500GB Samsung 850 mSATA SSD (macOS) / 1TB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD (Storage)Broadcom BCM94532HMB WiFi/BT Combo cardIDT High Definition Audio IDT (92HD80)Running macOS 10.13.5 on Clover UEFI r4558 (APFS File format)Now on to what works and what does not:Video: Not working. Tried enabling through clover and installed the newest nVidia web drivers. Does not boot without nv_disable=1.Audio: Not working, may need to patch AppleHDA. Need to read the guides on it, but not as important as video now.Power Management: When generating my own SSDT w/ssdtPRGen, System does not boot properly. Gets stuck on kext Stall[0] error. Started to use generated DSDT. Also enabled IvyXPCMWiFi: Working. Used the FakePCI kexts. Handoff/Airdrop supported.Bluetooth: Working. Used the FakePCI/BCRM patch files. Instant Hotspot supported.Sleep: ? Have not tried due to incomplete Power Management.Brightness: Does not work. Assuming due to Graphics not working correctly.Battery: Not working. Tried Rehabman's ACPI Battery Kext and gave ACPI errors on verbose boot.USB: So far as I can tell working.Keyboard/Trackpad: So far working.Camera: Working.App Store: WorkingI have done quite a bit of research and searching for other people that have this laptop does not show anyone with a High Sierra installation. Took a while just to get the settings right to actually install the OS. Used the latest available Clover build (r4558) and followed Rehabman's Probook guide using the 8x70p profile. After a reboot, does not start. Started up with USB and it boots with nVidia disabled. Audio and others at that point still was not working. I had to reinstall macOS due to it not booting at all when installing all of the repositories and files. This time I decided to do a clean install. Extracted my own DSDT/SSDT, patched and compiled it. When adding the SSDT generated from ssdtPRGen, the system does not boot. I edited the config.plist to enable the Nvidia web drivers but no luck. For now, I am using my DSDT and nVidia disabled. I have tried everything I was able to research how to do. I would like to get at least video and power management working. I tried the MacBookPro 10,1/11,1 profiles and tried to Override the EDID, no go. I also tried to inject the GPU through DSDT, that did not work. I tried various fixes and all did not work. I have been working on this for a while and maybe I am just missing something. If anyone can provide any insight or help, I would greatly appreciate it. I would attach my DSDT files as necessary, but it keeps failing every time I try to add an attachment on here. Please let me know how I can provide any files to anyone who is willing to help! Thanks!

Alienware M15x Battery not recognized/ACPI errors.

So I tried the second DSDT you posted, It still clears the CMOS at restart. Thank you for helping I really appreciate it. Is there anything else I can try or do? Thanks!

Alienware M15x Battery not recognized/ACPI errors.

Hey Artur, Thanks for this DSDT! It has repaired my battery meter and it works great. However my system still clears the CMOS every time I restart it. Do you think it is a DSDT issue or something else? Is there a setting or something I can try to help fix it? I already turned on the AppleRTC patch in Clover with no results. Thanks!

No problem, let me know if there is anything else you need! Thanks. CLOVER.zip
  7. Hey Everyone, I was hoping for a little help with my DSDT. The battery is not detected and when I boot in verbose mode, I get ACPI errors on the battery side. I also cannot for the life of me figure out how to stop my CMOS from resetting every time I restart my machine! It is so annoying. Maybe I am missing something? Please help DSL.zip

    8GT/s vs. 2,5GT/s

Are you sure that your board supports PCI-E x16 on both slots? (When 2 cards are running at the same time.)
  9. Hey everyone, I am trying to install an nVidia GTX 970M on my Alienware M15x. I was using the MacBook Pro 6,2 SMBIOS (most compatible to my laptop) and I am running Sierra 10.12.5 as well as Clover Legacy r4097. When everything is installed including the nVidia web drivers, I got a black screen. I was doing research and someone mentioned I can try using an iMac 14,1 SMBIOS. While that worked and allowed me to get a display with full acceleration, the system got so slow/sluggish due to power management not working properly from the iMac SMBIOS. (CPU is stuck in x9.0 multiplier.) I have also tried the clover patch for Pike's AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy with no result on the old SMBIOS. Is there a way to use the MacBook Pro 6,2 (or a compatible laptop SMBIOS so I can keep CPU Power Management) setup while having the GTX 970M activated? If I can, how would I go about doing that? I would think that the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy would need to be patched, but I have no idea where to start. Thanks. Help with getting both displays working please!?!?

Thank you for your reply! I have tried this and still the same result :/ I'm ripping my hair apart trying to get this to work. I don't have money for a new GPU, but the only thing that is not working on this machine is graphics. Is there anything else I can try?

Please help with patching my DSDT!

Hey MaLd0n, I was wondering if I can bother you one more time. Is there a way to patch or point me in the direction of patching the DSDT or system to stop resetting my bios every time I restart or shut down my PC? Thank you so much!

Help with getting both displays working please!?!?

Done, and attached! Thanks for looking into it! Thanks for the reply! I have tried as you suggested to inject Langur into the Clover boot loaders settings within the boot loader + removed ATI Inject and still, no luck! I must have some really bad luck or something. I mean I got everything else but sleep and LVDS to work on this machine! I am on the verge of a fully functional hackintosh. There has to be a solution somehow lmao! What are my options? gotmilk70.zip

Help with getting both displays working please!?!?

    Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, that patch did not work. And it is still using the default Framebuffer. I don't understand why it is not injecting any settings I put in via clover. What do you suggest I do next? Thank you for helping! Here is what showed when I typed in the command in Terminal: ioreg | grep ATY | | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@0 <class AMDLegacyStub, id 0x100000433, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (12 ms), retain 8> | | | | | +-o ATY_ATY,RadeonFramebuffer <class AMDLegacyFramebuffer, id 0x100000436, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (7 ms), retain 17> | | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@1 <class AMDLegacyStub, id 0x100000434, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (2 ms), retain 8> | | | | | +-o ATY_ATY,RadeonFramebuffer <class AMDLegacyFramebuffer, id 0x10000043c, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (1 ms), retain 16> | | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@2 <class AMDLegacyStub, id 0x100000435, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (2 ms), retain 8> | | | | | +-o ATY_ATY,RadeonFramebuffer <class AMDLegacyFramebuffer, id 0x100000442, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (1 ms), retain 14> gotmilk70-MBP:~ gotmilk70$

Help with getting both displays working please!?!?

Thank you again! I removed Ati inject and set the FB name to Langur and still no display on the LVDS. It's like because this card is supported in macOS Sierra, it is not allowing me to inject any details via clover. It uses the default frame buffer and does not work with custom EDID or connectors or anything. If I inject a different vendor and device id that is fake, the LVDS will come on, but it does not pick up the card and has 3MB with 1024x768 resolution. Is there any way to force macOS to select the properties that I want? Is there a way to tell which FB Sierra is using? This is so frustrating and the only thing that is preventing my machine from being a fully functional hackintosh is the graphics! I would change the GPU out to an nVidia one, but for my laptop...driver inf files (in Windows) needs to be modified to not conflict with the built in audio controllers hardware. What should I do next? Thanks!

Please help with patching my DSDT!

Thank you again! Using voodoohda and applehdadisabler, I can get audio coming out of my internal speakers. It is just not working with HDMI audio. I'm assuming that this is due to the fact that macOS Sierra is not selecting the right frame buffer. Is there a way to attach a specific frame buffer, EDID and card connector layout to the DSDT directly to neglect the need of clover patches? It seems like because the 5730M in my laptop is native to OSX, it is not allowing me to inject any properties via clover. Is there a way you can also provide me the .dsl file after you applied the patches so I can edit the dsdt with the changes you made? Thank you again MaLd0n!
