  1. Hi Bronya, Your instructions failed, although when it 1st came up, it says the disk was read only, so I did sbin/ fsky and then sbin /mount uw / Then it said it couldnt find the file, so tried again with just your commands and it gave each file as being read only. Rebooted and still had the same error. (bracetrace terminated, invalid frame pointer 0 Kernal xxxxxxx modules in backtrace com.apple.atiradeonx1000(5.1.8)@0X20e6600->0Xx0ebff Then rebooted and tried -v -f -x which allowed me to get in as safe mode (yay!) The graphics card has a vendor listed as Ati (0x1002). Will now loading your driver solve this problem? Many thanks J
  2. Thanks, off to try this, will report back tomorrow! J
  3. Hope you can help me, I have a x1950 ati powercolor pci-e card. I have done a fresh install of kalyway, but when it boots up for the 1st time, it does a kernal panic and stops, with the error being about "Kernal Panic, com.Apple.atiradeonX1000(5.1.8) or com.appleatiradeonX19x0" How can I get this working when I can't get into the system? I can get to the terminal if it helps! Ta J
  4. Kalyway 10.5.1 Asrock ConroeXfire esata2 1 gig ram Core 2 DuoE6600 IDE hdd (master) and IDE benq DVD (slave) ATI X1950 Pro 256mb Power color OK, so I have installed successfully OSX onto the HDD, selecting all the vanilla options, the ATI 19x0 kexts and the mbr efi. It boots into OSX, shows the apple, and then a grey screen asking me to reboot my computer by pressing the power button. I have tried with and without the ATI 19x0 injects but I still fail with something similar to the following: Kernal Panic com.Apple.atiradeonX1000(5.1.8) or com.appleatiradeonX19x0 I can't get past this 1st screen, and this is after a fresh install, so there is no user setup or anything. I am unsure how to get past this, as I am not sure how to copy kexts in when nothing is mapped (I have a sata XP drive available set as C:) and there is also no user setup because I havent got past this point. Someone please help! J
  5. Hmm, both of kalyways ati's dont work. Any clue?
  6. Hmm for other people reading this, look at the top, choose utilities and then disk utilites. Format it from there. Silly me J

I can't get past this point to do anything else. If I try using -s then i get the following: single user boot - fsck not done root device is mounted read only. Thankyou J
  8. Hello All, DVD: Kalyway DVD 10.5.1 Chip: Intel Duo Core 6300 Motherboard: Asrock Conroe Xfire HDD1: Sata with XP on it HDD2: IDE HDD set as master, have a 30 gig fat32 partion on it. Was an old XP drive, reformatted it in XP and then asigned it a drive letter and made it active. Benq 1620 DVD RW drive set as slave (although its at the top of the IDE chain) Right, here goes. Downloaded and wrote iso to DVD, when viewing the DVD in windows, it only tells me its about 192kb big but the entire dvd is written too. Anyway, started up, darwin boots up and the OS X springs into life. It does some checks for intergragity of the DVD which is passes. I select english and off it goes. It then presents this screen: and I then i selected the IDE drive, it comes back to the above screen and I press install and then the next screen is OSX installing and it stops. A few minutes later it tells me something along the lines of "file not found in /volume/apple/" and quits. I never saw this screen: Have I missed something, or a simple step? Since it passes its intergrity check, it would appear the dvd is ok, but I am a tad lost. Please help Thankyou J
  9. Is the kalway comboupdate available as a normal http download somewhere? torrents a tad slow J
  10. 10.5.2

Netkas workaround only works for the downloaded patch, not the software updating itself version (so says website).
  11. Hello, Simple question, I am about to try using the 10.5.1. kallaway disc, but will i be able to upgrade to 10.5.2 by simply downloading the apple patch from apple itself? Many thanks J
  12. Hello all, I own a Mac Mini with 10.4.2 (G4, doh!) so I want to use my great dual core intel chipset. I dont have a fast connection at 256K so I cant download via torrent unless I want to constantley have my computer on all 2008 Hence, can I create a patched iso using my Mac mini DVD? I have quite good selection of iso burning and creating software, and I am not going to be connecting to the internet with it, so is it possible, if so, how please? Many thanks J
