  1. Gentle bump. So has no one tried this model of laptop?
  2. Has anyone has any success with snow leopard, a d420 and sleep? If so did you use patched DSDT? When I tried it failed to sleep.
  3. got sleep error with my d420 on snow leopard. Would fail to shut down to sleep mode, could not get to test if it would come out of sleep but I did manage to have it working in ideneb 10.5.6 Yes I have the bios password setup and wake USB disabled. Also noticed the power source was always set to power supply and never battery. Anyone got any ideas?
  4. @mac-es - Keyboard is detected, but some specific keys, e.g. "@" symbol do not work (AltGr + Q terminates the app instead); heard that it's possible to create own keyboard layouts w/ Ukelele -> does anyone have a keyboard layout where "@" and other "special" symbols do work? If you mean the microsoft british keyboard layout I have attach a DMG that should help. did for me. Microsoft_Keyboard_Layouts.dmg
  5. working with snow leopard 10.6.1 on my d420 but the mouse is a little funky. It appears the touch pad has a point where it jumps .i.e. 2 cm up from buttom. If I move the mouse over this spot the mouse jumps about. Is there anyway to sort this out? BTW thanks Dude, now where do I send the paypal to ;-) I was getting that too. It was because I had an old install of mac on the H/D. I got a windows 7 install CD and boot from it and formatted the hard disk then I ran the boot CD and this fixed the problem. you need the microsoft keyboard kext.
  6. can I install Windows 7 RC onto another partition of the internal HD of my OSx86 laptop then load Chameleon rc2 too sort out the multiboot?

  10. I would like to backup my OSX86 laptop because after the many hours of hacking I put into this machine to get it perfect I would hate to lose it all. Can I just connect aportable usb drive and use carbon copy clone to back it up? Thanks in advance Bertybassett!!!
  11. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

My new project is a Dell Latitude D420 which is the exact same hardware as a D620 but the D420 is MacBook Air sized. My problem with the D420 is I have used your suggested intel 950 kext package from the zip provided on this thread and they work great even with resume from sleep (with the bios password) but I have tiny graphics corputions in the finder window, nothing major but I would still like to sort this out if possible. Does any one know what kext I should be using? How about the one included in OSxTools or is there one in the Dell Post installer 1.4? Or does anyone have a better kext to use? Also anyone know a way round not needing the bios password for resume from sleep?
  12. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

@ Mark Rose Don't forget to let me know if the kalaway version of OS X 10.5.5 with nvidia sleeps ok.
  13. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

what are you using to create a backup of the mac? Do you think Norton Ghost would work? Or is there anything on the bootable MAC OS X installation CD that might work?
  14. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

@ Mark Rose Does your Nvidia based D620 laptop wake from sleep? If so what did you do to make it do this?
  15. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

The Intel wireless card is a joke and is very poorly supported, your only option is to replace with a dell one from that famous auction site. The onboard nic can be made to work read this thread the fix is in here. Also battery and sound fixes here too.
