Magic Trackpad.

Works great. Theres a new setting for "scroll direction: natural" and theres been some interface philosophy type debate about what is the "natural" direction. I'm thinking of changing mine to the default direction cause its confusing now when I use other peoples computers. No man is an island and so on. They talk about the gestures on this page Trackpad-vs-magic-mouse
2. Followed the guide in the thread (blade5502) and installed with ##### (arch=i386) but couldn't change the resolution for my 7300 GT. Installed NVEnabler 64.kext from kexts.com to S/L/E unmodified and I now have the right resolution.
3. The 4350 looks very power efficient. Only 17 Watt at max usage if I read the charts correctly. According to that install thread you get a green apple instead of a black one, nice :-)
4. I'm also looking to upgrade my graphic card (7300) and since I run my computer off a laptop power supply, low power consumption is important. I liked the link to the hardware.fr test. I have been looking at this other comparison chart : The Truth About Graphics Power Requirements V2 And it has to be fanless as well. I got a nobrand wattmeter, its like 8 euros, I can recommend getting one, its interesting to measure how the watt differs during startup, idle and so on. And measuring stuff in your home, like the toaster, 900watt....
5. An update would be great. And thank you for your work in starting this thread, it was a great help when migrating to this board.

Knockoff Mac Keyboard

They have what looks like that one at dealextreme as well, also another one that looks the same but with an ipad connector . The user discussions at that place can sometimes be good for finding out about product quality since they have some people ordering many for reselling in their respective countries. $18.60

Magic Trackpad.

I only run osx so I haven't had that problem but I happened to read this thing before on Apple support, sounds a bit like your problem? Magic Trackpad - Pairing Problems Switching Between OS X & Windows

Magic Trackpad.

Yes it works 100% :-) I use a cheap usb bluetooth dongle. The kind with semitransparent blue plastic. I can't see the brand now cause I put tape around it, the LED inside was blinking constantly when using the trackpad. When you connect the trackpad a download becomes available via software update. You get a new preference pane in system preferences called Trackpad with options and animations to show the different gestures. To further customize your gestures theres third party software: Jitouch, that I use and BetterTouchTool. Jitouch (the beta supports magic trackpad)

Magic Trackpad.

I use the magic trackpad with the Jitouch software on my desktop hack. What I like the most is surfing in total silence without the click click sound from the mouse. I'm used to tap to click since forever on my laptop. You can have certain gestures only work in certain applications. I'm trying to use as many gestures as possible to avoid the keyboard. Stepping between open taps is a joy for example. Like for copying and pasting you use index and ringfinger and drag. Theres an adjustment in jitouch where it measures the distance between your index and ringfinger. I like the idea that a computer might be customized to a specific persons fingers! It would be interesting to hear what gestures and tap combinations other people use. I guess it comes down to what functions you use the most and what your fingers are like. I made one for Enter, index and ringfinger pressed, doubleclick on middle finger. Not sure about that one, also the default for copy and paste is a bit weird for me. I use that a lot when browsing so need to find something easy. (Copy word in webpage, open new tap and paste in search window and google it)
10. I've got a 7300GT. It's working on my system. 10.6.3, 32bit, DVI, retail kexts. Anyway, in case it helps, this is my com.apple.Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1440x900x32</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v arch=i386</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>4</string> </dict> </plist> Could your dsdt have something do do with your problem?
11. I've been looking into using Front Row on a HTPC. Works great with the Plex plugin and Sapphire plugin. What I would want though, is to be able to pause torrents (or FTP) when I'm using Front Row. Ideally I don't want to have a keyboard attached and I wonder how other people solved this and if somebody out there have created their own plugins and if it was easy etcetera. found this python thing for creating plugins: FrontPython Since I posted I have solved this by using a combination of swing web interface for azureus and remote buddy on the iphone I use for remote.

Can't install Chameleon RC2

I don't know what guide you followed but maybe you could try and install chameleon manually from the binaries if the installer doesn't work? I did that when the installer failed. From the README in chameleon binary package: " Normal Install (non-RAID): -------------------------- Suppose that your installation is on /dev/disk0s2 - Install boot0 to the MBR: sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0 - Install boot1h to the partition's bootsector: sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2 - Install boot to the partition's root directory: sudo cp boot / "
13. @leoncowle Are you using a Leopard Retail DVD?
14. SleepEnabler.kext solved my sleep problem, thanks. 10.5.8 with 10.5.6 kernel and system.kext
15. I cloned my hard drive and tried an update to 10.5.8 (w 10.5.6 kernel) and I also got that problem with sleep. It seems the hard drive spins down and the screen blacks out but the fans on the motherboard keep spinning. Theres no waking up when you press keys or move mouse.
