  1. ASUS G51VX- Anyone try this laptop yet?

the best way to avoid any Kernel Panics is to used DSDT.aml compile from your own system. use Ubuntu LiveCD to get a dump of your dsdt.dsl and compile into DSDT.aml. then install using any method you wish...i prefer installing thru another OSX using OSInstall.mpkg. then install Chameleon bootloader and latest EFI 10.1-10.5 I use the basic Kexts in the folder /Extra/Extensions/ such as FakeSMC, NullCPU~, IOAHCI~, OpenHaltRestart, PlatformUUID, and SleepEnabler. keyboard, trackpad, nvidia gtx 260m, and alc663 sound is not easy or straight forward for this particular notebook running Snow Leopard. KB/TP was done by using voodoops2controller.kext and AppleACPIPS2NUB.kext compiled for snow leopard. installing in /Extra cause problem...best to install into S/L/Extensions and be sure to remove Mouse.kext from plugins folder inside voodoops2 never had any luck with gtx 260m using efi string, nvenabler, or graphicsenabler. i had to customize NVinject by adding the Device ID 061810de using correct VRAM. also using VoodooHDA compiled for Snow Leopard and deleting AppleHDA.kext. after many nights of headache, here's all files that I used to get things working: g51vx_working.zip Everything works, EXCEPT: Wireless LAN Keyboard Volume Control

  5. PC EFI V10.4 (made by netkas) OUT!

I also have the reference ATI4850 and it took days to get working. here's how i got working with full resolution: efi 10.4 GraphicsEnabler=n ... enabling graphics didnt work for me i use EFI string hex set in boot.plist also added ID to the ATI4800controller.kext and ATIRadeonX2000.kext. info.plist. if you want to compare or try mine out, here they are: 4850_patched.zip
  6. inspiron 640m AUDIO & GPU HELP!

I got my Dell Inspiron 640m GMA950 to fully work. I replace AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext with an older one that i got from this forum and use a modified Natit.kext both files attached Graphics_fix.zip here's the audio fix for sigmatel 8384 7690 Audio_Fix.zip unzip and drag the sigmatel9200 onto the AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 once the auto execute is finish, REBOOT!

Thank You so much for this file!!! FINALLY, My Dell Inspiron 640m with GMA950 works flawlessly. no more scripts or hot corners to bring display out of sleep. this framebuffer along with Paulicat's Natit.kext did the job! here's my laptop spec: Kalyways 10.5.2 DVD installed on Dell Inspiron 640m core 2 duo 1.83ghz --> only 1 core works using cpus=1 flag Sigmatel Audio 7690 --> works with patcher 1.20 & stac9200 Network: both ethernet wired and wireless work out of the box Touchpad: tapping works except for scrolling Graphics: using all AppleIntelGMA* from Kalyways 10.5.2 DVD replaced AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext with the above file installed Paulicat's Natit.kext using SwitchResX for 1440x900 native resolution(not sure if this is needed anymore) After days of reading and experimenting, all is working smooth except for that 1 core disable!!! WOOT Hope this helps other Dell user. thanx all for the files.
  8. iATKOS and OSx86 (FAQ)

I used an external monitor as extended desktop. then use switchresx to set custom resolution at 1280x800. I got sound and wired ethernet working also.
  9. Marvell on Leopard (10.5)

thanx for the info!!! I got my Marvell Yukon 88e8036 to work with the above method!!! however, since my 8036 was not listed in the info.plist...I had to modify the the 8053 to 8036. I changed all "8053" to "8036" and my 8036 happens to have the same vendor 11ab and device 4351 as your 8053. so I changed that also. now I have fully working ethernet on SONY VAIO FZ240e installed with iATKOS r2 Leopard. now all I need is sound from the sigmatel 7662 and intel wireless 4965AGN, then my hackintosh will be complete! thanx again!!!
  10. iATKOS and OSx86 (FAQ)

i installed iatkos r2 onto an external usb hdd w/out a problem. make sure your bios support booting from external hdd. here's my system spec: SONY VAIO FZ240e Intel C2D T7250 2.0ghz Intel GMA x3100 working using SwitchResX to get 1280x800 Sigmatel HD Audio detected, but i dont hear sound from any source Intel wireless 4965 not working Marvel yukon 88e8086 detected, but cant seem to connect to any network.
  11. Leopard Laptops with NON-working GMA X3100

Jabonga, I think SwitchResX is forcing the 1280x800 for me. Without SwitchResX, the best I can do was 1280x768...leaving 32 lines empty on the bottom of the screen. anyhow, it is the full optimal 1280x800 for my main display and it does show up on the System Preference --> Display. I test it out with Unreal Tournament 2004 running full screen at 1280x800 and it was beautiful! since i'm using the *.kext from errandwolfe's, i'm sure it will work with other names other than SONY, Dell, etc... if you ever find a way to display the optimal without 3rd party tweaks, let us know!
  12. Leopard Laptops with NON-working GMA X3100

thanx errandwolfe for the files. I used your AppleIntelGMAX3100* files and Natit.kext and I got my X3100 fully working at 1280x800! Jabonga, I'm running iATKOS revision 2 on my Sony VAIO FZ240e notebook w/ intel 965 chipset. 1. I installed Errandwolfe's *.kext 2. reboot while connected to an external monitor. 3. *found my way into System Preference --> Display setting* 4. Set resolution to 1280x768 temporary for "main display" (1280x1024 for "external" by default). 5. Finally set the optimal resolution for VAIO notebook at 1280x800 using SwitchResX's custom setting! VOILA! full hardware support!!! the tricky part there was getting past the white/garbage display on the main LCD. the external display was automatically set to EXTENDED DESKTOP...not MIRROR display. at this point, it was obvious to me that the problem was setting the correct display resolution for the main display on the laptop. hope this help! took me almost a week of trial and error...thanx to some info from this thread, I finally got the x3100 fully working. now onto wireless network and sound to work!!!
