    [TOTALLY VANILLA] Retail Snow Leopard

Hi, I also have no AHCI in BIOS, and have 2 XEON 5050 CPUS ... I get continuous reboots using this method .... I does not even get Apple gray logo .... I have ATI Radeon HD 3650 Any help ?? Thanks L2R
  2. Hi All, See my signature. I have a pure Intel Dual Xeon machine (server) and successfully running Leopard from iATKOS and then upgraded to 10.5.8 I also installed SL 10A432, but never booted...could not fine why ... But when I tried to install Microsoft Silverlight for Netflix movies, I got an error message that this plug-in can not be installed on the powerPC machine ..... why ??? May be that's why somehow even SL is identifying this as a PowerPC and will never work ... Can anybody help fixing this situation ?? Regards L2R
  3. I followed the steps and after putting the retail DVD of leopard when i provided 9f and hit enter, I still see the Apple logo in gray back ground..No gears to show any progress and the screen is the same for more than 20 minutes now<br /><br />Any ideas what the hell might be going on ? I am on Dell PowerEdge SC1430 with Dual Xeon 3GHz machine with 8GB ECC RAM... very powerful machine<br /><br />Thanks<br />L2R

  6. Hey ALL, I just fixed the issue for me ... did the following 1. Boot from your DVD again and open terminal when the installation first screen appears. 2. check with "df -k" that your Leo volume appears 3. Open the com.apple.Boot.plist with , /Volume/<Leo Vol>/usr/bin/vi /Volume/<Leo Vol>/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and add "-f -x -legacy" in the Kernel Flags as shown below <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-f -x -legacy</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>10</string> </dict> 4. Now delete your /Volume/<Leo Vol>/System/Library/Extensions.mkext file 5. copy the file from /System/Library/Extensions.mkext (this is DVD version) in location of step 4 6. From the /Volume/<Leo Vol> directory rename the existing mach_kernel to mach_kernel.BAK and copy the version on the DVD / volume Just restart your machine and it should work .... once you are all setup, put message to Kalyway for solution with the non-working kernel Good Luck Luv2Rip

I successfully installed Hacked ToH Leopard 9A581 on Dell PowerEdge SC1430, that has dual Xeon 3GHz No Sound, No Internet , just plain Leopard NEwork: BroadcomNX1 Gigabit card Soundcard: Creative X-FI SB
  10. Hi Guys, I have been reading all posts for last 3-4 months to get around my problem of getting on network. here are some details. I have successfully installed Leopard 10.5.0 + later the 10.5.1 patch with original ToH image. My machine details are below: Dell PowerEdge SC1430 with 2 Xeon 3.00 GHz CPUs, 4GB PC5300 FB-DIMM, ATI RN50 (ES1000) graphics, Broadcom 5750A1 ( BCM5750A1) Gigabit Ethernet Card, added Creative X-Fi Sound Card. I just first want to get my machine on the network .... I applied AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext and patched string to my device id 1677 (correctly) .... My Network Adapter is not even detected on the PCI-X bus The All Messages option in the Console Log shows below: AppleBCM5701Ethernet: 0 0 getAdapterInfo - Broadcom 5701 ethernet card installed in a PCI-X bus: unsupported configuration AppleBCM5701Ethernet: 0 0 start - getAdapterInfo failed, giving up IOCommonGate::disable() called when not gated Backtrace 0x41bed6 0x5da946aa 0x3e810c 0x3e81d9 0x4164af 0x4164e6 0x413c24 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.iokit.AppleBCN5701Ethernet(2.2.3b1)@0c5da93000->0x5daa7fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.4)@0x54689000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(1.6.0)@0x5d62d000 I also created the link to com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily and added device pci14e4,1677 into the Info.list Anybody can help resolving this ???? Also, Is there a work around for ATI ES1000 (aka RN50) to get on higher resolutions ? Thanks a lot in advance
