  1. GTX 285 only 1/2 the speed of GTX 260 in Cinebench

I noticed the same thing! I have been using Carti's BIOS for my Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R motherboard. Everything seems to work perfectly. No kexts or dsdt was needed to get the video card working with QE/CI. I installed the nvidia driver and the CUDA drivers from nvidia. Adobe CS5 (the only program I know that uses CUDA) appears to use the only CUDA feature (Mercury Video Rendering Engine). I will post screenshots soon. Any help guys?
  2. driver for GTX 285

I, too, am very interested in using the Mercury Playback Engine with this card thru 10.6. Any ideas?
  3. Hi everyone! I have been using the Kakewalk method on my EP45-UD3R with a q6600 and a 9400GT 512MB for a couple weeks now with zero problems. The only minor issue I have run into is with torrenting. I'm not sure if this is a kext thing or jsut an OS X thing. I have all my prots forwarded correctly and whatnot. However, I can never seem to get speeds higher than 25 k/b. Anyone else run into this problem?
  4. Has anyone been able to get SpeedStep to work? I'm using the GA EP45 UD3R with a Q6600 SLACR G0 at stock settings and the stock cpu fan is running full blast non-stop.
  5. http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/23/psystar...-enrages-apple/ Is this news going to make it any easier to use this bored or are existing bootloaders (ie. Chameleon) good enough?
  6. NEW INSTALL: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was able to get XP working with the same bios settings that I use for OS X. However, I can't get them to boot together on the same hard drive. Anyone know the install process for XP after I have already installed OS X and Chameleon v2 RC1? Thanks again!
  7. NEW INSTALL: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

Will I have problems with OS X if I switch off AHCI? I kind of want to dual boot with Windows and I can't seem to get AHCI to work.
  8. NEW INSTALL: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

Just a heads up to everyone. I just installed on a HDD that would work for me. If you follow Eliade's instructions, you can't go wrong. Everything is working wonderfully. Updated everything to 10.5.7. To fix the system clock, try using the following link. Worked great for me: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=81164&st=0&p=907924entry907924 Just a little off-topic. My RAM is clocked at 800 mhz but I know it can do 1000mhz. Anyone know the bios settings I need to adjust to increase it? Thanks again to everybody on this forum, particularly Eliade who did a wonderful job with his pack from May 20th.
  9. So, I have tried a bunch of stuff and nothing is working. I am thinking that it might be because of the size of the hard drive. Is 40GB too small or something?

  11. Hey all, I have tried a Vanilla install with a retail disk (10.5.6.) on a GA-EP45-UD3R V1.1 using GRUB DFE. When I use my 320GB SATA Western Digital HDD with an existing 20GB Windows installed partition and a 2nd partition that is mostly blank. That hard drive shows up just fine. When I try to use a blank 40GB SATA Western Digital HDD, it doesn't even show up in the install process. Things I have tried: - make 2 20 GB NTFS partitions, install XP on one partition. Nothing shows up. - create one giant partition "id=af" using diskpart in XP. Nothing shows up. - Played with master/slave settings on HDD. Nothing shows up. - Used Gparted Live disc to format in HFS+. Nothing shows up. I've tried everything I could find nothing works. Any help you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.
  12. NEW INSTALL: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

The drive shows up as a master drive and the DVD as a slave.
  13. NEW INSTALL: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone whose been involved with this particular project. It has been a great help. I tried for the first time to install a retail copy of 10.5.6 but it cannot locate my HDD. I have purchased a separate 40 GB Western Digital SATA 7200RPM drive for this use, but anytime I boot into the retail install screen, it cannot identify the Hard drive at all. Even when I go into the disk utility, all it sees is the DVD drive with the retail disc. When I attempt to boot with my 320GB WD SATA HDD, it comes up perfect with the 2 partitions I already have on there and detects everything just fine. I have browsed these forums and others and have tried everything possible, including creating two partitions, setting up an "id=af" partition through diskpart to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.
  14. Drivers for Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT - Success

sweet! Thanks for the info! Although, let this be a warning to everyone. I have had two of these cards and one of them had a similar cooling issue. Tread with caution with the BFG 9400 GT!
