  1. GeForce 8400GS

I have a bfg 8400gs 512mb PCI version. I know the PCI-E version works, but I can't get mine working. I can get correct resolution if i use efi strings, but I can't get qe/ci. Most of the enablers give me a greyish blue screen if I use dvi or a panic if I use vga. I have tried both iatkos 10.5.7 and ideneb 10.5.7 with voodoo kernal (pentium 4 processor). Does anyone have any ideas?
  2. Need driver for Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS ?

Has anyone tried the pci version (not pci-e) of the 8400gs? I have the bfg pci version, and I've tried every injector as well as efi strings. The best I could get was correct resolution. Does anyone know how I can get qe/ci working? I am running iatkos 10.5.7. Thanks for the help.
  3. Thanks a lot. I will definitely look into that setup.
  4. I know, but I was going to sell the mbp and get an iMac, so I figured I could get a lot more for my money with the hackintosh. The way i see it now, I can probably get a much faster mac desktop, a little laptop, and some cash for my mbp.
  5. I'm looking for a little advice as I try to build a new hackintosh. I am thinking about selling my macbook pro and spending the money for a hackintosh and a netbook, since I only use the mbp's real power when it is docked at home, never on the go. My main problem is I have built computers before, but never for osx. I have, however, installed osx86 on my old dell m1210, so I'm familiar with the process. My first question is where should I start as far as picking the parts. I have been looking at people's sigs for ideas of completed systems, but I need a little more help. I am trying to get the most power for about $700, more if that's unrealistic. I'm not as worried about the graphics card as I am the processing power, but I do need to drive 2 monitors. I also want as close to a 100% working system as I can. Second, is it possible to install vmware fusion on the osx86 to run windows xp? This seems like an easy way to dual boot if it is possible. If anyone has any ideas of what parts I should look into, or where I can see some successful setups other than in people's sigs, I would appreciate it. I have some time to build it so I can do some research, but I need some help getting started. Thanks a lot.
  6. I reinstalled leopard using the kalyway package with the same add-ons as above. Then i replaced the info.plist. I repaired permissions. Then i went into terminal and typed sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/Cache. I restarted but still got the same error message. "It says system extension cannot be used." Any ideas?
  7. I still can't get the external to work. I am running iaktos 10.5.1. I don't have sleep working either. Is my sleep and external VGA problem connected? Should I just run the kalyway version?
  8. I replaced the plist like you described and repaired permissions. When i reboot i get an error saying the extension can't be loaded or something like that. The display is strected like before i installed nvinject. How do I clear cache like you described? Is that my problem?
  9. I have my m1210 working just the way i want it thanks to guide, thanks a lot. I only have one problem. Itunes says i need os x 10.4.10 or higher to use my iPhone. Can anyone give me simple instructions to upgrade from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10? I used the JAS combo update to get to 10.4.9. Or would it be easier to install leopard? Thanks for the help.
