  1. So, I've been running Leopard very successfully now for 8 months or so on my Toshiba laptop. Installed from Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, updated with 10.5.3 combo update, and have been updating through Software Update ever since without problem. However, I've always had to keep cpus=1 enabled. Many features in the new iLife '09 though require a dual-core CPU to run. If I remove cpus=1 (or change it to cpus=2) I can boot fine, but it runs like a bag of ass. It runs okay as long as I keep the cpu activity up, otherwise it goes EXTREMELY slow and lags a lot. For example: if I'm watching a movie, sound will get very erratic, buggy, and cut in and out. However, if I just keep wiggling the mouse quickly or bring the dashboard in and out rapidly, it plays perfectly. Are there any solutions for this yet?? Thanks. System: Toshiba P100-ST1072 C2D T5600 @ 1.83 GHz 2.5 GB DDR2-667 RAM Geforce 7600go (full QE/CI w/ NVkush) Intel 10/00 LAN (fully working, Intel82557 kext) 3945 abg wireless (not working) Conexant HD Audio (not working)
  2. 10.5.6 Released!

I'm 10.5.6 running full steam ahead... needed PCGenUSB and ApplePS2ControllerNub kext's, but otherwise working great. Kalyway 10.5.2 install --> Kalyway 10.5.3 combo update --> 10.5.6 from Software Update (Used DSDT GUI fixer and Disabler.kext) Kernel 9.6 Toshiba P100-ST1072 C2D 1.86 GHz 2.5 GB of RAM GeForce 7600 Go [nvKUSH] EDIT: Time Machine STILL broken.... *grumbles*
  3. Time Machine still broken..

are you sure? I've tried using modified IONetworking kexts, I even tried reinstalled the Time Machine Fix from kalyway's DVD (which is just a modified IONetworking kexts anyway) and still no good.
  4. hey everybody, I recently did the kalyway combo update from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3, and I got my QE/CI, USB, etc all back working fine but my TimeMachine still gives me the "backup volume could not be found" error... I've tried many of the fixes on this site as well as various ones from googling... any ideas? =/ Thanks in advance. P.S. - I backup to an external USB2.0 250gb disk.
  5. OS X suddenly broken?

alright thanks -- why would permissions make it freeze up for a few seconds though? but anyway, not too big of a deal if i have to reinstall, I have a Time Machine backup.
  6. Hi all, So I'm running 10.5.3 (orig. install was Kalyway 10.5.2 disc) and all of the sudden my system performance is wretched. It will be fine for a few seconds then lockup (spinning wheel) for 15-30 seconds and then its okay again for a bit again (usually less than a minute) and it keeps doing it. I did some QuickTime 7.something update (required reboot) and it wasn't bad after the reboot, but then I updated my iLife progs (updates were for iPhoto, iMovie and one other one), so I had those download and install. Went upstairs for about an hour, came back down and it was frozen with the "You must shutdown your computer... hold the power button...etc" message. Judging from the clock's time when it froze, it was about 40 minutes after I had left so I assume that the updates downloaded and installed a-okay. After I rebooted though it's been doing the lock-up thing ever since. Any ideas please?? Thanks!!
  7. Integrated SiS chipset

So I'm putting Leopard on an old(er) laptop for a friend, and it has an integrated SiS chipset, any help / ideas for video drivers? Currently there's no QE/CI and it's stuck at 1024x768. Current progress: Acer 5000 series Install Method: Kalyway 10.5.2 (sleepkernel) Turion MK-36 1 GB RAM Touchpad & Keyboard working w/ ApplePS2 kext USB working OOB Broadcom Wireless working OOB AC '97 audio working OOB Thanks!
  8. Laptop specs: Toshiba P100 Intel 945 express chipset Core2Duo 1.86 GHz 1 GB DDR2-667 GeForce Go 7600 80GB SATA HDD So I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on the system and the installation went fine and it boots fine. However, about 5 - 10 seconds AFTER everything is all loaded up, I notice some significant lag when I move my mouse pointer around (trackpad). If I launch a program it kicks up and runs fine for a couple seconds then starts to lag again. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  9. 3D Applications not working

UPDATE: This had to do with resolution switching when the games would launch. Only work around I know of is to edit the games' config file to change res to your native one. This has worked so far with World of Warcraft and Penumbra.
  10. 3D Applications not working

Hey everybody, Whenever I try to run a 3D application (like a game), the screen just blacks out and I can't see anything. The system hasn't crashed because I can still hear the game's music playing, and if I press command + shift + ESC it seems the application closes but the screen has almost a thick blue haze over it that makes it terribly difficult to see my desktop. Any ideas please? System config: Leopard 10.5.1 C2D E6750 Gigabyte P35-DS3R 2 GB DDR2-800 XFX 8600GT XXX Edition (1440x900, Full QE/CI, nvInject 0.2.1 & geforce 10.5.2 kexts)
  11. Help! Broke my install with 10.5.2 update

Hey thanks, I deleted the "AppleIntelCPU..." kext, now I no longer get the HPET errors but it still doesn't boot.... Also had to rename "Dont steal mac os x.kext/" to "dsmos.kext/"
  12. Hey guys, Stupid me installed the 10.5.2 update without checking on compatibility & methods first... So no, I didn't backup my kext's, can somebody post their AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement and dsmos kexts for me, please? I'll be your valentine. <3 =P Thanks!
  13. OS X doesn't see other drives

  15. Hey everybody, I have 2 hard disks, a 120 GB SATA drive (OS X) and a 250 GB PATA drive (Vista), also an IDE DVD burner. Leopard doesn't see the 250 gig drive or the DVD drive. Even if I go into the terminal and type "diskutil list", it only shows the one (120 GB) drive! Thanks for any help you can give me.
