  1. Yup..... I have been waiting to get to see one. The Apple stores in ATL will not have it until 2nd week of Feb. I just figured the dealerships would be 1st.
  2. I find it hard to belive it was the MacBook Pro @ CompUSA. They dont list it on their website. All the information that I have seen, shows shipping mid February to everyone. I would like to think the Apple stores would get it first. The Apple Store in Atlanta did not have it as of yesterday. Are you sure it was not the powerbook? da_hammer
  3. JaS install 10.4.3_8F1111

Greetings again. Sudar: I used a patched DVD for the install, and I get the same results if I try a native boot from DVD JaS: I tried turning off the HT but the result is the same. I am getting ready to try the Kernel now and I will post results later. I will most likely PM you later to pick your brain on this. Thanks in advance. da_hammer
  4. JaS install 10.4.3_8F1111

Greetings, First off...thanks JaS for the hard work. I got the DVD patched (10.4.3_8f1111) and I have successfully installed this into vmware 5.5. I set it up to use a physical HD (the whole thing). My dilemma is when I reboot and then try to boot from the drive without vmware. All i get is the gray boot screen with the apple on it. with the -v option Here is some info from my cpu-z: Number of CPUs 2 (1 Physical) CPU #1 APIC ID 0 Name Intel Pentium 4 Code name Prescott Specification Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00GHz Family/Model/Stepping F34 Extended Family/Model 0/0 Package mPGA-478 Core Stepping D0 Technology 0.09µ Instructions Sets MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Clock Speed 2998.5 MHz Clock multiplier x15.0 Front Side Bus Frequency 199.9 MHz Bus Speed 799.6 MHz Stock frequency 3000 MHz L1 Data Cache 16 KBytes, 8-way set associative, 64 Bytes line size L1 Trace Cache 12 Kµops, 8-way set associative L2 Cache 1024 KBytes, 8-way set associative, 64 Bytes line size L2 Speed 2998.5 MHz (Full) L2 Location On Chip L2 Data Prefetch Logic yes L2 Bus Width 256 bits The motherboard is an ASUS P4P800-E dlx: Northbridge Intel i865P/PE/G/i848P rev. All have had the same results. I would welcome any ideas to get this booted from the physical drive. Thanks, Preben

  9. Install/BOOT problem.....

Hello, 1st off thanks to all that have made this possible for us. I got hold of the marklar-tiger image with the correct MD5. I have patched it and I have the correct MD5 according to this guide: http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/202/42/ I used Nero to burn the ISO to a dvd. My problem is that it will not boot past the initial gray apple screen. I have tried the various switches at darwin boot ie -x: -v and platform=x86pc. The last gave me errors and told me to use the powerswitch to re-boot. Here are some images of the boot. I have read for hours and hours......im lost. I saw some post that it could be IDE or video. Somewhere i read that the Marklar image needed to be patched for use on SS3 processors. True??? Any ideas? My specs are: ASUS P4P800-E Delx P4 3.0 (478) 2GB ram dual DDR ATI 9500 SE AGP Plextor PX-708 DVDR/CDR Here is a dump from CPU-Z cpuz.txt I wanted to set this up as doal boot between win ans os x. I am using an IDE HD with a win partition and I left 1/2 of the drive unformatted for os X to use, but I cannot get past whatever is holding the system. I even let it sit for 10 min @ the gray apple screen hoping it would go. Does the drive need to be blank?? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance, Da_hammer
