  1. ALC889 sound working on (E)P35-DS3(P)!

thanks. I can get into my SL desktop. SL appeared to be very stable installed stuff and made a bunch of configurations. it was until I used the Natit kext for my 9800GTX I started to get KPs NVenabler didn't work initially and KP, don't recall - I have to retry.
  2. can sombody help me whit this?

curious, what graphics enabler did you install? NVenabler 0.1, Natit, or EVOenabler? my SL installation was stable until I got 9800GTX recognized w/ QE/CI enabled. now I get kernel panics after a few minutes as frustrating as this OSX86 thing is addictive.
  3. ALC889 sound working on (E)P35-DS3(P)!

I have the same motherboard - got SL into desktop but I get kernel panics after a few minutes. I temporarily used a wired mouse instead of a wireless one and I got it running for 45minutes. frustrated.

  6. I'm having this problem right after upgrading from 10.5 to 10.5.1 - I messed up, I was drowsy and I overwrote files I wasn't suppose to. I'm having a world of issues. no icons, finder won't launch, etc. but I won't go down without a fight so I'm going to check to if I can reverse what I did.
  7. 650 and 680i chipset thread...

LOL, I felt like searching an apple like chassis & keyboard to buy after getting leopard up and running. I'm serious!!
  8. What network cards work?

Linksys wmp300n works!!! made possible by installing AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler
  9. 650 and 680i chipset thread...

10.5 installed fine, just disabled my extra cpu cores and extra features used flags -x -v cpus=1 -legcay platform=OSX86 it takes about 10 - 20 minutes to get the installation screen, and close to 2 hours to install, I used ToH's DVD RC2. then used the post patch - renabled cpu cores and features. everything works, including except for the lack of QE and Network.
  10. Leopard Perfect Install

Thanks - that was great. I managed to get leopard installed - self-booting, from Jas 10.4.8 for the mbr (just used jas because it booted quicker to the installer) I'm going to try to reinstall leopard if I can't manually replace the kernel, I used the brazilmac patch, but it did not replace my kernel. YIKES!! after 2 hours of install time!!! I should have checked!! and I should have done it manually. so I'm going to boot a 10.4.10 disk to make critical life or death changes to my leopard volume - and get tips from this follow this wonderful guide of course. FYI on my machine I had to disable all 3 cores from my quad, disable all cpu features (speedstep, C1E, etc.) I had one kernal panic too many - so I decided to boot the disk in the bare. using cpu=1 flag wasn't enough. I used the following flags to boot the dvd -x -f cpu=1 platform=OSX86 I know something here may not be necessary but I would not want to wait for 20 minutes before getting the installer screen and get a panic. I'm really happy this forum exists I thank all of you for your feedback and ingenuity - this is a dream come true.
  11. ToH boot only with -legacy option

    try -v -x -f cpu=1
  12. What network cards work?

running mac.nub 10.4.10 - everything is running sweet except for wirless access, onboard lan controller, and ocassional freezes (mouse stops moving & keyboard still responsive?? +need to check the logs) **Strangely, my linksys wmp300n was recognized by AirPort friendly at first boot. but I didn't have a wireles router to connect to. Now I have a wireless router airport will *not* turn back on I'm looking a simple script to start it - but will this help? or can anyone help. here's info from profiler AirPort Card Information: Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x60) Wireless Card Locale: USA Wireless Card Firmware Version: 4.80.46.0 Current Wireless Network: AirPort is currently turned off Built-in Ethernet: Type: IEEE80211 BSD Device Name: en0 Hardware (MAC) Address: 00:18:f8:2b:79:b0 IPv4: Configuration Method: DHCP IPv6: Configuration Method: Automatic AppleTalk: Configuration Method: Node Proxies: Proxy Configuration Method: 2 ExcludeSimpleHostnames: 0
  13. 650 and 680i chipset thread...

finally got imine to work - used mac.nub's 10.4.10 image released sometime in 10/07 no problems yet, except for no networking or sound. my wireless linksys card is identified it looks supported - so I expect to be using it soon!! here are my system specs evga 680i Q6600 (I had to disable 2 cores) 4GB Nvidia 7600GT installation went fine, but did encounter a few road bumps here is how I overcame them 1. could not boot. fix - had to use MBR not Guided in Disk Utility, seems obvious but I missed it at first. 2. various kernel panics fix -Disabled unsupported hardware in BIOS, including extra cpus if you have a quad (I'm sure there's a fix to this) you can see the errors if you press F8 prior to boot and enter -v -x at the prompt (verbose + safe mode). 3. Still having errors that prevent you from booting fix - make sure you choose the right drivers and kernel - I selected intel nforce, the generic ones didn't work for me. 4. Confusion Fix- Research. Read, Read, Read - this will save you precious time when things go wrong.
  14. EVGA 680i and Mac.Nub 10.4.10

I have the same mobo. the install using mac.nub 10.4.10 went very smoothly - but I can't seem to get it to boot. I changd the boot flag using fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 then flag 1, update, write, reboot. I did notice at one point I got a b0 error which gave me a sigh of relief, but all is silent now. I'm getting no feedback. the b0 error - I was able to resolve w/ the method mentioned above. when I boot it just hangs or I get a "BOOT DISK FAILURE MSG" my IDE was set to master, SATA controllers disabled - no difference. I'll give you a heads up if I'm successful w/ upchuck 10.4.9 v1.4 r2 - just downloaded it.
