  1. Roll back to 10.5.4 kext?

Hi Everyone, I upgraded to 10.5.5 from 10.5.2 using the combo installer and the upgrade was successful from the OS standpoint, but QE is no longer working on my NVidia 8400 GS card. Resolution is fine, and I don't use more then one output., but I have no QE anymore. I tried following direction on other forums and threads but I seem to be getting no where fast and I'm kinda worried about digging myself a bigger hole. Can anyone reply or send me step by step instructions on how to get QE working on my card? Here's the info from the System Profiler Graphics by NVIDIA: Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0422 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.1 Displays: DELL 1704FPT: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected Thanks, Tim
  2. Could I get a copy of that mybootcd please? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks, Tim
  3. I don't think so, I think this is built into the firmware of the Macbook Air. You need to hold down the Optoin key when you are booting in order to install over the network from someone else's drive. Good thinking though! And while i'm talking about it, anyone know a good bus powered optical drive?
  4. Hey we are going backwards!

I had this problem this morning, and my first idea was to look at the time in my Bios settings. I found out the clock was off by 4 hours (maybe when i changed the time from cali to Boston?) So i changed it back and everything was A OK! Hope this helps other ppl!
  5. I ran the pkg to install the USB Fix 1.3 tool but I get the following error: The following install step failed: run preflight script for 9.2.0 System.kext Only. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I've attached a screen shot. Any ideas? Is there a way i can do this manually? Thanks, Tim preflight.tiff
  6. GA-G31M-S2L PATA issue

What exactly did you go through to get the network up and running? I used Kalyway v2 (10.5.2) and I have the audio working out of the box and I have my NVidia card working like a charm, but my network is still not working properly. The NIC is in the system profile but I cannot get a connection with DHCP or Static IP with the NIC set to 10Mb Full. Any ideas? Thanks! Tim

  10. I have aquired the install dvd (stock) and i used Maxxuss' patch on the dvd successfully. I then burned the ISO and put it into my Sony Vaio A130 laptop. I am already dual booting this laptop with XP MCE and OS X86 10.4.1. When i put the dvd into the computer and boot. I then type in "mach_kernel.nonx". The gray screen with the spinny thing comes up. Then the blue screen comes up with a black arrow, the arrow becomes a spinning color wheel, and then the screen goes black... Am I doing something wrong? I'm not sure if my CPU has the NX command or not. anyone out there throw me a bone? Timmay
