  2. UberNoob is now using the X-Mass Oz release, has his GTX 680 flashed with GOP support and is downloading 10.11.5. Edit: The AOS board needs NVRAM protection disabled because Oz is using a AptioFix1 style memory map fix (thank-you crusher. for telling me this). You can disable NVRAM SIP in a few different ways: EFI Shell: setvar csr-active-config -GUID 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -nv ="50000000"Oz Defaults Plist: <key>Defaults:7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82</key> <dict> <key>csr-active-config</key> <string>UAAAAA==</data> </dict>NVRAM (older OS X): sudo nvram 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:csr-active-config=%P%00%00%00CSRUtil (from Recovery): csrutil enable --without nvram

    Clover General discussion

    Full Example SMBIOS for iMac14,2: Note: Some of the fields like SmcRevision, FirmwareRevision and ProcessorSerial are not in default Clover builds (but it does not hurt to fill them out). <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>CustomUUID</key> <string>01234567-89AB-CDEF-1011-AABBCCDDEEFF</string> </dict> <key>RtVariables</key> <dict> <key>MLB</key> <string>RM000000000000000</string> <key>ROM</key> <string>aabbccddeeff</string> </dict> <key>SMBIOS</key> <dict> <key>SmcRevision</key> <string>2.15f7</string> <key>FirmwareVendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>FirmwareRevision</key> <string>0.1</string> <key>FirmwareFeatures</key> <string>0x37f503f8</string> <key>FirmwareFeaturesMask</key> <string>0x37ff03f8</string> <key>PlatformFeature</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>BiosVendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>BiosReleaseDate</key> <string>02/22/2016</string> <key>BiosVersion</key> <string>IM142.88Z.0118.B13.1602221716</string> <key>BoardManufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>BoardType</key> <integer>10</integer> <key>Board-ID</key> <string>Mac-27ADBB7B4CEE8E61</string> <key>BoardVersion</key> <string>iMac14,2</string> <key>BoardAssetTag</key> <string>Base Board Asset Tag#</string> <key>LocationInChassis</key> <string>Part Component</string> <key>ChassisManufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>ChassisType</key> <integer>13</integer> <key>ChassisHandle</key> <integer>12</integer> <key>ChassisAssetTag</key> <string></string> <key>Manufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>Family</key> <string>iMac</string> <key>ProductName</key> <string>iMac14,2</string> <key>Version</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>Mobile</key> <false/> <key>SystemSKU</key> <string>System SKU#</string> <key>SerialNumber</key> <string>RM000000F8JC</string> <key>BoardSerialNumber</key> <string>RM000000000000000</string> <key>ProcessorSerial</key> <string>000000000000</string> <key>SmUUID</key> <string>01234567-89AB-CDEF-1011-AABBCCDDEEFF</string> <key>Trust</key> <true/> <key>Memory</key> <dict> <key>Channels</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>SlotCount</key> <integer>4</integer> <key>Modules</key> <array> </array> </dict> <key>Slots</key> <array> </array> </dict> </dict> </plist> All models have these fields, have fun finding all the correct info for your SMBIOS model.

    Question about removal of Clover

If it is a UEFI install you can delete the EFI/Clover folder in the ESP. If you have boot0af installed you can restore the Microsoft MBR by running startup repair or by following this guide: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20864-mbr-restore-windows-7-master-boot-record.html
  6. Fair enough, I was just confused by you saying Windows will only hit C6. Keep up the good work and stop by the hoob chat sometime.
  7. Are you sure about this? More importantly are we talking Core States or Package States? Under Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 my CPU cores (4790K) regularly hit C7 when idle/low load, but my package state only hits C3. Also I remember reading somewhere (might have been a Intel doc) that the CPU will only drop into Package C7 if using the iGPU, else it will use Package C6.

How could I become a kext dev?

You can't really throw a ACPI table (DSDT/SSDT) into a hex editor, Codinger. I mean maybe if there is a single byte that needs to be changed, but normally it will need to be decompiled, fixed and then recompiled. Also hex editing has nothing to do with KEXT (KEXT=Kernel Extension) development. Coding a driver (KEXT) that interfaces with hardware is a whole bunch of blood, sweat and tears; not a simple edit.
  9. Sounds good Mieze. I think most people on the bleeding edge with Skylake (& I219) would be running 10.11 anyway.
  10. That is awesome! Do those Dell monitors support 10-bit or is it dithering the output?
