HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

Thanks a lot Adachis, I'll try the same (when a new mini 1000 card arrives here!) In the meanwhile I will still keep trying to understand in what minis 311/110 and mini 1000 wifi card are different They seem to use the same chipset, Broadcom 4315, even if they are presented ad 4312. I posted about that in another forum after reading the service manuals of 110 and 1000, the part number is slightly different Just to complete information in that sense, what does lpci -nnv tell you now, with the 1000 card mounted? Vendor/device id are 14e4:4315? Cheers and enjoy your almost 100% 311... Vdude

@Ego_OSX could you repost the link or exact model name of the card bought on ebay? I can't access the link and I'm looking for a card to buy too thanks

HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

just for info: what do you see in system profiler? Does it tell you that IO80211 is loaded? Which version? Because I have exactly the same situation as yours in Utility Network with kext loaded in E/E but I noticed that system profiler tells me that IO80211 is not loaded

    PLEASE Help Snow Wifi problem

Just for info, there are people trying to get wifi to work in Snow Leopard for the new HP 311 here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=189621 For what I read in that thread, the new HP 311 mounts the same wifi module as our 110. It can be interesting to follow that thread too. Let's keep in touch for any development anyway

HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

DId you get that kext from osxpmini.info? I am following this thread even if I am a 110 user, because as you said we have almost the same Mini PCIe cards (lspci -nnv says the 110 is a 4310, while yours should be 4312, but they have the same vendor and device id 14e4:4315) If I am not wrong a possible solution would work also for the 110, then. Moreover on the 110 I have the same situation described elsewhere in the thread If I can contribute in any manner, I will be happy to do so Thanks and keep on fighting!

    Broadcom bcm43xx wireless driver [beta]

Absolutely no luck with the script in SNOW with a Broadcom 4310 on a Hp mini 110 netbook The same card is working flawlessy in Leo 10.5.7 lspci -nnv gives exactly the same result in Leo and in Snow, but in Snow no way to make the damn thing work.. here's what lspci -nnv says 01:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4310 USB Controller [14e4:4315] (rev 01) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device [103c:1508] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at feafc000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [58] Vendor Specific Information <?> Capabilities: [e8] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Express Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] #14e4 HELPPPPP!
  8. Hi, as per subject, I've tried almost everything to no use. Pc is compaq 110-1020sl, SL working except wifi and ethernet (possibly sleep but I don't mind now) I would be happy with wifi working Wifi card according to lspci -nnv (see the last part) is Broadcom 4310 USB (?) Here the full lspci -nnv: (I highlighted in bold the wifi module part). Problem is with host bridge, wifi module or both? EDIT: NOTE THAT THIS IS THE SAME lspci -nnv THAT I GET IN LEO, WHERE WIFI WORKS... 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Unknown device [8086:27ac] (rev 03) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company 9. Hi everybody first post...total noob but read many posts and I really like the forum, so I have decided to study a little bit Laptop: Toshiba Satellite A 100-803 Centrino dual core Audio: Realtek High Definition (on vista driver is defined as 6.0.1.5326) Ethernet: Intel PRO 100/VE Wifi: Intel 3945 ABG Tried installs: 1) Uphuck 1.4 rev 2 Results: after a few newbie troubles everything worked well apart from onboard wi-fi module (known issue, without solution until now for what I understand) 2) I tried upgrade from uphuck to TOH-Leo Result: kernel panic (you have to restart blabla) 3) I started it all over with JAS 10.4.8 etc etc Results: Ok but NO sound and NO ethernet 4) Then I put TOH 10.5 Leo straight over Jas 10.4.8 Results: success but still NO sound and NO ethernet So basically, I would like to know how can I improve my actual 10.5 (which for the rest is working like a charm) at least with sound and ethernet, if the wi-fi issue is still unsoluted PS I also tried (from uphuck dvd) azalia and callisto pkg and installed them in TOH, with no use. Thanks a lot Vdude- the almost total noob EDIT: Audio problem solved tks to Azalia (audio quite low though) Still looking for ethernet solution
