  1. Time Machine - blinking curs(e)or

bump i'd like to know this as well
  2. Kalyway 10.5.1 problems

Are you using GUID and EFI? If so one would think that the installation would have set the partition as active after it had completed.
  3. Realtek RTL8169/8110 stops working

I had the same problem, but it only happens with the AMD release (for me). I just swapped out that board and processor for a 945 board and Core2Duo and migrated the nic over to the new hardware and problem has not happened again. Have backed up two machines using timemachine over the network and the connection is still rock solid.
  4. Help installing a Dell wireless 1390 card!

I agree with RSanders, there is not much you should have to do as the card should work right out of the box. I'm really not familiar with Dell as I have a Gateway, but I'd ask if your system has a switch that allows you to toggle wireless on/off? If so have you tried to toggle the switch? If all else fails you may want to re seat the card and connect the antennas and give it another shot. If all else fails you may just have a bad card.
  5. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

Chun, This works great for me on my Gateway NX860XL using rev5 + test3 my wifi pcmcia card is recongized. Thanks for your great work. It is much appreciated.
  6. This happens to be as well. Also I have noticed that if i try to make a change to the settings it ceases to update correctly. If I just leave it alone it refreshes correctly. Also when I try to make changes to it I lose my Wifi connection as well.
  7. Leopard on hp dv6000 laptop

Congrats on your install, the fact that your laptop was identified as a Mac Pro is nothing to be alarmed about. That is the case with everyones system, I believe its the AppleSMBIOS.kext that gets installed. Secondly the PowerManagment.bundle does not appear to work correctly with EFI and the stock Apple kernel. I hope and check and search everyday but so far I have not found anyone that has made any significant progress on getting this to work correctly on Leo in a vanilla setup.
  8. Display sleeping does not work

I have this exact same problem and I have never seen anyone say they have gotten this to work. Maybe someone out there has, but when I have asked the response I have always gotten has been to disable display sleep.
  9. I had this happen to me once... I rebooted with -f then deleted my extensions.mkext and repaired permissions. I was then able to boot without any flags. I'm running ToH RC2 with a vanilla kernel.
  10. Ditto on my Gateway NX860XL in Leopard ToH RC2
  11. Image doesn't work for me eithered.. Burned and doesn't boot...
  12. I'm also sitting at 90% too which is a shame. I would have liked to have tried this out tonight. My question to some of the more senior members of the forum is, does the retail disc give you updated files? Meaning has anyone compared the kexts in the ToH release with that of a retail disc?
  13. Hi Niguh, I followed your instructions to the letter however I got a Kernel Panic referring to ACPI being unable to find a file. I suspect this is related to the IOPCIFamily edits, I forgot to do this doing my first attempt, but I was able to boot fine without these changes. I'm running 10.5.1 with efi as well. Thanks for the information
  14. Thank you for your information niguh, but I am lost as well. I am an admitted noob to the process but after 5 reinstalls because of my screw ups, I'm getting better quickly. My question is has this been confirmed to work with 10.5.1? I have a Gateway NX860XL and while I know my 3945ABG won't work currently I'm hoping that I will be able to use my PCCard for wifi. Please let me know (Bugs - I know you pretty much hit the round running on this topic and were able to help alot of people), I'm very interested to hear if you have made the leap over to 10.5 and were u able to successfully get your CardBus slot working as well Thanks in Advance
