  1. Hello, I have extracted here my DSDT and started to edit it. Nothing so far, but it is a work in progress. I have the following configuration: Motherboard: Intel DH55TC "Tom Cove" CPU: intel core i3 540 (3.06GHz) GPU: nVidia GTS250 RAM: 2GB Kingston DDR3 @ 1333MHz HDD: 3x Seagate 16mb Cache 320GB LCD: 2x BenQ E2200HD 21' 16:9 S/L: 10.6.4 Bootloader: ASEREBLN's Chameleon RC4 Can someone take a look at this DSDT and bring improvements to it, I am also reading lots of google translated documentation from osx86.es to understand how to modify it and I hope we can make a fully working dsdt for this h55 chipset. I have attached the following files: Clean DSDT Extracted under Win7 x64 Modified DSDT under Win7 x64 (DGTP, HPET, RTC Hack) Clean DSDT Extracted under OSX (COMPILES in .aml without errors) Modified DSDT under OSX (DGTP, HPET, RTC Hack) (Compiles without errors) I know that I have to add configuration specific code from my hardware, I don't know how to do that yet, still can't wrap my head around it, where do I find that code to add in dsdt.dsl before compile. I use DSDTSE for Win7 and OSX. Any help is appreciated, THANKS! Archive.zip
  2. Backup Solution

Hello, finally after a very long time I have SL 10.6.3 FULLY working on the specs in my sig and I have tried so far a few backup solutions, but none of them seem to work. I have tried Carbon Copy (Couldn't Restore the image), truth is that the image was carried around from hard drive to hardrive for 2 months, something might've broken, it didn't restore it. Next i have tried Time Machine Backup on another harddrive, that didn't work either, kernel error, dunno exactly if the bootloader got restored to, I was only testing to see if backup is working. I would want to make an entire disk image and let's say be able to restore from the iATKOS v7 DVD setup (time machine), would that be possible? Running Snow 10.6.3 + 10.6.3 annapvirth kernel on: ASUS M3N78 (specs: http://www.deusxmachina.org/manual.pdf Audio Chipset: VT1708B High Definition Audio 8-channel CODEC (VoodooHDA 17Feb2010 version, only JackOutput, sad about my digital output not working) ) -------------- AMD Athlon x2 Black Edition 7750 2.7GHz AM2+ 3MB Cache -------------- Palit nVidia GTS 250 512MB DDR3 (works with GFX Strings) -------------- 2x2GB GeIL Ultra DDR2 800MHz -------------- Seagate 300GB
  3. Guide me to my first Apple laptop

What's the budget? Apple prices go up a lot in other countries than US , unless you are planning to buy it directly from there.
  4. Photoshop CS4 on 10.6.2

I have AMD CPU, that's why vanilla doesn't work for me. Problem Solved, systematically patched every binary file on my system with Marvin's AMD Utility, and EVERYTHING works, even iTunes. for those wondering, Download Marvin's AMD Utility, don't get cpuid's from the entire system, use only option 2 and then 3, I scanned Applications and then System, and then patched everything, there were errors. When an error occurs open cpuid.txt for the directory you are patching and find the error (READ THE LOG) and delete everything until that line, including that line, save and then continue patching using option 3. When you get to System directory, there will be encrypted files, option will also create a replace.sh. I entered in single user mode(I wanted to patch the cpuids from there but it didn't worked) and executed the script witch decrypted and replaced the encrypted binaries with unencrypted ones, restart and to the patching as stated above. I hope this helps everyone who's in a tight spot! Ty'
  5. Photoshop CS4 on 10.6.2

I have AMD processor, custom kernel, who know, after the 10.6.2 update makes changes to the kernel the system won't start, blank screen, like with the original kernel that comes in retail. Through lots of trial and error I think I found why the 10.6.2 on Hackintosh's doesn't fix Photoshop's behaviour. I tested AnV's kernel for Snow Leopard, I replaced the original mach_kernel and then applied the 10.6.2 update again, the update adds like 3.6mb of information to the kernel (AnV's kernel size 15.1MB, AnV modified by 10.6.2 patch kernel size - 18.7MB). Is it possible to move the changes in one of our custom kernels? that would fix LOTS of problems, or am I talking rubbish? I attached the original AnV Kernel and the modded one. AnV's original thread here: http://www.infinitemac.com/f36/anv-qoopz-b...0-kernel-t5082/ And those are the two kernels: http://www.4shared.com/file/185098251/8313...d_by_1062_.html Apparently the SL update replaces the kernel with a vanilla one ... my bad
  6. Hello, I finally ahve made my 10.6.2 COMPLETELY running, I installed Adobe Photoshop CS4 and on every save it crashes the program. The bug is a 10.6 specific bug that happens to many other applications, but with the arrival of 10.6.2 the bug should be fixed, IT ISN'T. SL 10.6.2 Combo Patch is applied and I still get the same error, I tried to install a security update but it wouldn't let me, "no eligible hardware", oh joy... Does anyone know anything about this, have YOU applied the patch and Photoshop is running as it should, being able to save and so on? I am running: Snow Leopard 10.6.2 + test7 kernel on: ASUS M3N78 (specs: http://www.deusxmachina.org/manual.pdf Audio Chipset: VT1708B High Definition Audio 8-channel CODEC (dead, no hope) ) -------------- AMD Athlon x2 Black Edition 7750 2.7GHz AM2+ 3MB Cache -------------- Palit nVidia GTS 250 512MB DDR3 (works with GFX UTIL) -------------- 2x2GB GeIL Ultra DDR2 800MHz
  7. VT1708B - ASUS M3N78

I also have a windows 7 on my other hdd, and although I reseted to default all the BIOS settings, the audio won't work in windows 7 now... the only thing available in W7 is HMDI Audio. So apparently I physically broke me external codec in all my attempts(if that's even possible), that is just great! EDIT: MY windows was stupid, audio works, it must have been confused that I meddled with the BIOS settings, audio works in Windows again EDIT2: MY windows was stupid, audio works, it must have been confused that I meddled with the BIOS settings, audio works in Windows again
  8. VT1708B - ASUS M3N78

Hello, the past 2 days were spent trying countless ways to install may sound card. I tried VoodooHDA, different versions and architectures. AppleHDA(HDAPatcher doesn't work) Azalia in different combinations, by adding my own hex code in plist and so on. Right now I am really confused. Nothing works, somewhere I may have mistaken or the methods and kexts I tried really aren't working with my sound card, I also tried all the above listed kexts in different BIOS configurations (External Codec Only, External+Internal[VoodooHDA panics like that], Front Panel AC97, Front Panel HDA[voodoohda actually sees somethings there, device 0 no pcm channels found]) Right not there's a big mash in my head, I don't from which side to take it. I have a linux codec dump for my VT1708B(attached), what are the following steps: - hex the file - ..... I am lost here, how can I manually create a kext to install and what sould I use, AppleHDA or VoodooHDA. Can someone create that kext file and upload(that would be to easy for me) I think that after I solve this I will try to make a very comprehensive tutorial for my mobo + nVidia GTS250 512DDR3 so that people won't have to go through the headaches that I did/do. Any advice or pointing in a certain direction is helpfull, THANKS A LOT. My configuration is: Running Snow 10.6.2 + test7 kernel on: ASUS M3N78 (specs: http://www.deusxmachina.org/manual.pdf Audio Chipset: VT1708B High Definition Audio 8-channel CODEC (dead, no hope) ) -------------- AMD Athlon x2 Black Edition 7750 2.7GHz AM2+ 3MB Cache -------------- Palit nVidia GTS 250 512MB DDR3 (works with GFX UTIL patch) -------------- 2x2GB GeIL Ultra DDR2 800MHz -------------- Seagate 80GB codec_dump.txt
  9. GeForce 200 series support

ey, I just installed 10.6(insanelymac's tutorial, and then update to 10.6.2) and I got the same problem that I got under 10.5.7, EVERY time I change my resolution everything goes to hell, the scree turns blue and stays that way, just after I press the reboot button I see for a second the desktop(at 1920x1080) and then it turns off. I deleted the file in Library/Preferences/ xxx.windowsserver.xxx and modified the resolution in which I pasted the EFI code, nothing helps, what else do I need to reset??? Without having to reinstall everyting again, the past two days I m reading forums.... WEIRD, last moment news, that blue screen, If I leave it long enough the screen will go to standby, when I come back from standby everything is visible and working. WTH? Any ideas? THANKS, ARthur. Running Chameleon 2.0 RC4 + 10.6.2 on: ASUS M3N78 (specs: http://www.deusxmachina.org/manual.pdf Audio Chipset: VT1708B High Definition Audio 8-channel CODEC ) -------------- AMD Athlon x2 Black Edition 7750 2.7GHz AM2+ 3MB Cache -------------- Palit nVidia GTS 250 512MB DDR3 -------------- 2x2GB GeIL Ultra DDR2 800MHz -------------- Seagate 80GB
