1. Many thanks for all the replies, Sorry Herve, for not finding any reference to the controller issues, but i did spend several days looking through posts with regard to successful installs of Yosemite/El Capitan on this motherboard with a SSD drive, but did not come across anyone who mentioned trim not working. I also generally researched trim problems but again never found any mention of ICH7 controller limitations. My main aim is to try and get a stable install with trim working just to have a play with OSX. I have a number of older parts lying around, all socket 775/AMD so i was hoping to use them in my hackintosh build. If i use the setup without trim will it cause any issues? Due to long term health problems money is tight so i am unable to splash out on a more up to date setup. I do however have a Startech pexsata221 controller card which shows trim enabled when attached as a secondary drive but fails to boot when attached to the primary SSD drive. It seems like more research is on the horizon. Sata III would be nice to try but is not critical at this time. If i cannot get this card working can you suggest an alternative sata controller card or would this board solve the problem.? http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2728#spI can pick one up for £ 25.00 though i do realise the board is only sata ii and is not really a step forward. Thanks again for all the replies and advice. Darrell

3. I am playing around with hackintosh as my brother has gone and bought himself a mac and he has no idea how to use it, so i thought i had better gen up. Installed ML2 ok and then created yosemite install disk with ##### and installed ok. I ran ##### to install various kexts and everything seemed to be ok., apart from PS2 Keyboard and mouse not working on my KVM and still needing to boot from the usb installer. I ran clover configuration and installed clover 3330. following the instructions on this site. A number of issues have arrived. I now have intermittent problems booting with the machine stopping at kernel Extensions in backtrace. I also cannot boot in to the ML2 install. Safe Mode seems to be ok I have google the message but still struggling for a solution. Is there any good info on troubleshooting osx in safe mode. Cheers darrell

Acer 5920g problems installing myhack Mountain Lion

thanks for response. tried your suggestion but have arrived at the same screen. see attached http://cl.ly/image/2m21403m0U2h?_ga=1.30563192.633388073.1425640278 how do i confirm that the Myhack Myfix has in fact replaced the AppleACPIPlatform kext v1.3.2 and IOPCIFamimly kext ? thanks
5. i have been trying to install Mountain lion on my spare Acer 5920g laptop to have a play with mac osx. I have been unable to get past the "PCI Configuration End " message screen. i have copied both the AppleACPIPlatform kext v1.3.2 and IOPCIFamimly kext from a snow leopard install on a Gigabyte G31M ES2L to the extra/extensions folder in the USB MyHack installer and then ran the MyFix option targeting the USB installer. Same " PCI configuration end "message. I also tried running the Myhack MyFix option targeting the actual install and then cloned the drive to a laptop drive and then attempted to boot the acer with the new drive but again same message. I managed to install snow leopard on the laptop but was unimpressed with the speed in comparison with windows 7. Is windows 7 better than Snow Leopard? Computer specs: Acer 5920g 4 Gb ram T5750 Nvidia 128mb 8400 GS 160 GB Hard Drive I am a complete newbie on mac osx so any advice most appreciated. Is it possible to install mavericks/yosemite on this laptop ? Not much hair Left.
