Upgrading to Lion

Do I need any older kexts from 10.6.7 then Gringo? I was reading that other thread you mentioned regarding the wi-fi issue I was having. Should I make a backup of my current kernel along with replacing those 2 kexts mentioned in that thread to get everything working smoothly?

Upgrading to Lion

I don't even need to do incremental updates in that case? Neat!

Upgrading to Lion

Ok then, so to recap: 10.6.3->10.6.8->Lion then correct?

Upgrading to Lion

Ah. Ok well should I at least backup and restore the kernel then since I'm using an Atom netbook?

Upgrading to Lion

Would I be able to just backup my Extra folder and Extensions, replace it once I upgrade and have everything working?

Upgrading to Lion

The thing is, I didn't need to install any kext to get it working. Once I put in the card into my netbook, it just worked. No added kexts needed. But once I upgraded through Software Update, it no longer works. Actually now that I look in About this Mac, it says my card type is 'Third Party Wireless Card'. Is there any generic driver I could use?

Upgrading to Lion

Ah.. well the reason I'm still on 10.6.3 is because when I upgraded to 10.6.8 my wi-fi stopped working. Even with the same broadcom card that was working just fine when I had 10.6.3. I don't suppose anyone knows what happened? Do I just need to reinstall the kext or something? Does anyone have a Broadcom kext that supports a wide range of cards I could use?

Upgrading to Lion

Hey all, I was just wondering if I need to upgrade to 10.6.8 before switching to Lion, or is 10.6.3 ok?

AirDrop - Wifi compatible cards

Hey guys, a quick request. I'm still on 10.6.3 because when I upgraded to 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 my wi-fi stopped working. Even with the same broadcom card you have. Could you please tell me where I could get a kext for it, or better yet, even send me it? Thanks!

Testers Wanted - Zotac GTX 460 black screen issue

I used Chameleon and installed it to Disk0S2 if that's what you mean. So is it on there? I because I've looked and I don't see it listed anywhere there.

Testers Wanted - Zotac GTX 460 black screen issue

Oh well I wasn't necessarily asking for this particular case, it's just that I see it mentioned frequently in fixing other problems. I don't actually see the bootloader partition. Is it hidden from my view possibliy? I only see my main OSX partition.

Testers Wanted - Zotac GTX 460 black screen issue

Ok let me see if I follow all this correctly as I've only ever installed OSX on my Acer Aspire One netbook. If I do a clean install I should do a software update first and get the latest OSX (10.6.7 at this point). Then I should one of the methods listed here? Also, even on my succefully installed OSX on my Aspire One I have never been able to see the Extra folder except as a listing in Spotlight. Where is the Extra folder exactly?
14. Hey guys does anyone know how to get OSX working properly with a Zotac GTX 460 1GB? I've successfully installed OSX on my machine but I cannot for the life of me get the video working properly. It'll boot into OSX without a hitch but in ugly 800x600 resolution. Once I'm in I tried following the instructions for ##### (which includes Tonymacx86's nVidia fix), but every time I reboot I just get a black screen when it's supposed to boot into the OS. Here is my specs: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 OCZ 4GB RAM ZOTAC GTX 460 1GB Asus Essence STX I've followed the instructions properly before rebooting so I know it's not that. I've tried rebooting with -v -x PciRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes, or =0 & =No. The only time it boots back into OSX properly where I can see the desktop itself is if I disable the nVidia driver. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? Also, does anyone know how to get my sound card working here, or do I have to use my onboard audio?
15. Hey guys I was wondering if anyone here has tried using iAtkos recently to install OSX? In particular I'm trying to use it with a computer with the following specs: - Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 - C2D E6600 - Zotac GTX 460 1GB - Creative X-Fi Titanium HD - 5xSATA HDDs I have not set AHCI on or set HPET to 64-bit, but I did try it before, and I have not unplugged every USB device in the back of my case either. Anyways, my problem is that neither my mouse or keyboard respond once it gets to the welcome screen to choose your language before installing. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also, would it be easier if I used a Vanilla install DVD instead? Lastly is there any guide anyone would have that I could use for this? Looking online I can only find instructions for older versions of iAtkos using my motherboard. =\
