  1. Sorry, fixed the url now. If you follow the the first link, there is a PDF guide you can download, and it offers 2 solutions to KP after first boot. Does that work for you?
  2. Finally got SL running Here's a basic guide Snow Leopard Retail DVD on GA-P35C-DS3R r1.1 Bios F12 with HD4870 Followed this guide, using this guide to prepare DSDT.aml. System wouldn't boot, had to remove ATIRadeonX2000.kext and ATI4800Controller.kext from /System/Library/Extensions before it would boot. (I also removed AppleIntelCPUPowerManagerment.kext, but I think the ATI kexts were the problem, not PowerManagement) Booted into snow leopard with -f. Followed these instructions to get HD4870 working My sound isn't working but I expect that will be easy to fix - but that can wait until later. I'll update this post when I get it going
  3. HD4870

What I did was to use Kext helper to install them. (I had previously removed them as they were stopping SL from booting). Good luck
  4. HD4870

I LOVE YOU :D That worked a treat
  5. I've installed SL and created a DSDT file from my bios. When I boot with -v -x32 I get as far as: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out I can't see any other errors, but nothing else happens after this point. anyone got any ideas what is wrong? cheers
  6. [Guide] Using DSDT with the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

I can't download the pdf guide - the mediafire link works, but once I click download it keeps timing out and not getting anywhere. Other files on mediafire work fine!
  7. I bought snow leopard today, so I thought I'd get it installed (I have 10.5.7 running fine). Has anyone got it up and running with the same mobo as me? (see sig) I'm going to try doing the DSDT patching business, is it best to patch an existing DSDT or generate a new one based on my bios? Cheers!
  8. Changing from 1900xt to HD4870

I changed my graphics card from a 1900xt to HD4870, but osx wont boot anymore. I can however boot up in my 'utility' partition to make changes. What is the procedure for removing the old graphics card drivers so that the new ones can take effect? Cheers!
  9. Argh, so apparently it is not possible to partition an ipod video with guid as the partition type... Can resize my system drive and install from a partition on that?
  10. that's what the parity files are for!
