HD6350 is the same as HD5450. there are numerous posts out there check em out
  3. AMD HD6350 / HD5450

Hi all, here is my case. I have an AMD HD6350 from HP that is the same as the HD5450. After a long search I found out that the simple GraphicsEnabler=Yes from chimera would not work for my card since my subsys codes (1462:2133) was not listed in the HD5450 cards already in the latest version. So I was forced to use the ATI injector and my card was seen as generic HD5000 series. All was working, except the DVD player which led me to believe that there was something wrong with the frame buffer. Indeed this was the case. What I did was to download the sources code of chameleon, insert my card in the ati.c file and recompile and re-install it. So now my card is seen as a HD5450 with the correct framebuffer (Eulemur) BUT now it seems that I have another problem The display (using the DVI connection) cannot wake from the computer sleep (all the system wakes though and I can shut it down normally - going to the correct option without seeing the screen, by memory) and display sleep does not work too - for example, I have set the display sleep after the screensaver and what it does, instead of going to sleep/black screen is to freeze the last image. It is worth to mention that this was not the case with the generic 5000 series option since it seems that the generic ATI frame buffer works for this. So anyone has a clue here? How can we solve this? Is it possible to DSDT fix it? Thank you

  9. AC detection

Hi, I am currently using voodoobattery and I have tried other battery kexts with the same result in this problem. Voodoobattery seems to be working the best for me apart from this small issue: If I start the computer without a battery plugged in the power source shows as if the battery is the current power source. However if I hot plug the battery and then I remove it, the power source changes to AC adapter correctly. This is a problem since I usually don't use the battery if I am connected to an AC adapter. The drawbacks of this: 1. If I update, it tells me that I need to be connected to a powersource even though I am.. 2. The energy saver preferencies used are those of the battery and not those for the AC adapter. Is there any solution for this small bug/problem?
  10. Samsung R Series Notebooks

Hi guys, I'm the owner of a Samsung R610 with 10.6.8 installed and I'd be glad to help by making a full working system and giving out my kexts and settings. Until now I have everything working except: WiFi Intell 5100 - no solution, I'll change the card Modem - not using it Proper Sleep/Wake - Update: Now working, see below! Brightness controls - Update2: Now working, see below! I'd like to replace VoodooHDA also but that's low priority for now... Let me start from the Sleep problem that I have had many progress: Mald0n gave me a patched DSDT (thanks!) and in the beginning the PC was going to sleep but could not wake up. Then I discovered that enabling the S3 and EDB options in bios made the situation better: 1st time I press "sleep": the pc goes to proper sleep mode. I press the power button and after 5 seconds or so it goes to a semi-sleep mode (LED not flashing anymore and disks ready). Then I press again and it wakes up. If I press the sleep again it goes again to that semi-sleep mode... Any ideas on 1. How to make it wake up properly without having to wait and pressing two times the power button?? 2. How to enable proper sleep even after the 1st time? UPDATE: SLEEP WORKS PROPERLY HEAH!!! What I did to fix the last problem was this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1606265 Warning: The values might not be for your system as it was for mine. See post #113 on this thread for better explanation on how to do it! (very simple) Now I am working on the brightness controls... I see the meter but it changes from Max to 0 only and then I cannot change it back to Max. It stays dark UPDATE 2: BRIGHTNESS NOW WORKS! What I did: following http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...p;start=100#top post by user minihack. But the problem was that his plist file from Macbook 6.1 was causing strange behavior (screen flashing etc). So what I did, I downloaded from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=152566 the files for Macbook 4.1 which is my laptop and I compared his plist with the original deviceproperties.plist. With some testing and luck I managed to isolate the part I needed for brightness (with the help of DiffMerge) and then injected it in my boot.plist. And..IT WORKS 100%!! brightness keys mapped with voodooPS2. I know that for someone all these may seem confusing because it required A LOT of bloody search!!! I think I will make a guide for this laptop soon so it will be more simpe to follow! Now I'm happy with my working snow leo!!!! (except for this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=264825 - any ideas??) cool! I attach you my current DSDT and the plist I used for brightness injection. Archive.zip
  11. UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

Hey guys sorry for the question, but...I searched high and low and could not manage to find an answer...How do I inject the above info and where??? It is not very specific and I just can't get it, sorry...Thanks a lot
  12. [SOLVED] Sleep problem on 10.6.8

Ok guys some news for the ones who maybe interested too on the subject. Mald0n gave me a patched DSDT (thanks!) and in the beginning the PC was going to sleep but could not wake up. Then I discovered that enabling the S3 and EDB options in bios made the situation better: 1st time I press "sleep": the pc goes to proper sleep mode. I press the power button and after 5 seconds or so it goes to a semi-sleep mode (LED not flashing and disks ready). Then I press again and it wakes up. If I press the sleep again it goes again to that semi-sleep mode... Any ideas on 1. How to make it wake up properly without having to wait and pressing two times the power button?? 2. How to enable proper sleep even after the 1st time? Has anyone else encountered similar problems?
  13. DSDT Auto-Patcher

with s3 enabled in bios the thing that changed is that after that semi-sleep mode the usb mouse works right away and not after some seconds...anyway I think I will post a separate topic about this on the forum is maybe better. Thanks man!
  14. DSDT Auto-Patcher

OK, so...the thing that changed everything was to enable EDB in bios! Here is what's going on now: 1st time. PC sleeps ok. I press the power button and after 5 sec. pc goes in something like semi-awake (no monitor but hd seems to be working). I press again and PC fully wakes. USB mouse takes a while to come back though 2nd and next times. The pc goes alway to this semi-sleep mode and wakes up ok. That's a big progress!! Any ideas Mald0n?? we are almost there!!
  15. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Since I am not giving up I partially had success! Well, here is what I changed. I do not know if something or all did make a change. 1. I plugged in the battery (before it was only AC power - and the PC was saying that it was on battery source though) 2. Enabled "restart in system failure" at the AC power settings 3. changed sleep mode in "3" 4. EDB in BIOS sleep "seems" to work...I'll do some more tests though....
