  1. My laptop has built-in Bluetooth device, its Broadcom 20702 Bluetooth 4.0. I can make it work by changing hardware ID in IOBluetoothFamily.kext. But somehow it looks like the bluetooth has conflict with the battery patch. Everytime only one of these two could work. And if I repair permissions and rebuild cache the bluetooth driver works and battery icon will be left with an "X". And if I repair and rebuild again it may cause the horrific "Invalid node structure" issue. I don't think I can figure this out based on my current knowledge. I would leave it be as it doesn't mater too much. Thank you!
  2. Thank you, and by the way could you also show me how you solved the bluetooth function issue please?
  3. A new question: I kept trying to solve the battery icon problem, but got no luck so far. Here is the RehabMan DSDT patch and the ACPIBatteryManager.kext I used for Chameleon and it worked before: Battery.zip I also tried downloading the latest ACPIBatteryManager.kext from rehabman's link (https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-acpi-battery-driver/downloads) but after that it went to black screen forever again. So I deleted the latest one and re-used the above one again, I could enter macOS but battery still wasn't recognized. Have you got any solution for this?
  4. LOL seems like you are a real life saver for me ^^ I re-customized config.plist using Clover Configurator as you instructed and this time it worked! The USB drive bootloader successfully lead me to macOS and this GPU was detected and worked fine! What was left a black screen forever turned into a black screen for couple seconds and then BooYah~~~~ This is the modified config.plist that worked: config.plist.zip But for now the battery icon on the taskbar looks weird this time. I think I'll need to fix that. but anyway the macOS is back to work again. By the way I didn't change anything about the kexts. I guess its just that Clover works better than Chameleon as I witness it. Besides my laptop has the MBR table since the time I get it. I never opened it from the back and never now that I have two hard disk bays. I wish I could do as you showed me but I don't know how to do it. Anyway I am planning on keep using this laptop for couple more months and I would like to get a real macbook, so until then it would satisfy me enough as long as it is working ^^ Thank you s much for helping me again ^^
  5. Hi, thank you so very much for your reply. first I want to say that my laptop is the 3D model, that means I can't use the Intel GPU but only the 7850M one. Also my laptop still use the traditional BIOS system and MBR partition table. I guess I am not able to create EFI partitions on the laptop disk drive. However I managed to installed Clover on a USB drive and I can enter Clover by booting from it while starting up. And I used your config.plist file for bootloading, but unfortunately it stuck on this screen forever: So far I still haven't figured out where the problem locates... Also as we discussed last year when solving 10.10.4 black screen issue we solved by replacing the AMDFrameBuffer file inside the 10.10.4 AMDFrameBuffer.kext with the 10.10.3 one. I have tried by comparing the two AMDFrameBuffer files between 10.10.3 and 10.10.4 using HexEdit but got nothing as I couldn't find any regulations or relations. I think that the problem should still be the AMDFrameBuffer file because the replacement method worked all the past year until 10.11.6, but since in macOS Sierra there is a big change on the formations of Framebuffers this method does not work any more. I tried using AMD Frambuffer Utility to modify the framebuffer values (according to the software 7850m GPU corresponds to Pondweed in AMD6000Controller) but it didn't work either. Below I attached the Extra folder while I was using Chameleon booloader. It contains the extracted ROM file, Chameleon bootloading configs, DSDT.aml and SSDT.aml, and all the kexts I needed. Before macOS Sierra it all worked with GraphicEnabler=Yes, but now I can only enter Sierra by setting GraphicEnabler=No, which prevented the system from detecting the GPU and also lost Quartz Extreme & Core Image function. Extra.zip To be frank I don't know what I should do for now, whether to get Clover work or to solve the FrameBuffer issue. I am wondering if you could help check these files and figure out the real problem. And I would very much appreciate it if you'd like to have a look. Thank you so much!
  6. Hello, sorry to interrupt you, I'm wondering if you have successfully upgraded to macOS Sierra? I'm having Envy 17t-3200 CTO too and graphic card is 7850M. I have been using chameleon to boot EI Capitan, and since our last communication and with your help previously in this thread it worked fine until recently upgrading to macOS Sierra and it went into black screen again when setting GraphicEnabler=Yes. Unfortunately since last time I failed in figuring out why exactly my graphic card was not fully detected, I guess chameleon was not fully working. Thus I want to switch to Clover but I haven't used it before so I'm wondering if you can provide a tutorial of installing clover on Envy 17t and use it to boot macOS?

Black screen AGAIN after 10.10.4 update, please help!

The link has been removed, also I found the solution. Thanks for reminding~~~~~ OK, so no one can answer my question, then I'll do it myself: found a temp solution, which is replacing the 10.10.4's Framebuffer file in MacOS folder of AMDFramebuffer.kext with 10.10.3's Framebuffer, then install the modified AMDFramebuffer.kext back to S\L\E, clear caches and fix permissions. reboot and enjoy~~~~
  8. Actually the 7850M card just only has 1024m video memory, I think it showed up correctly. And as for the bluetooth, I have injected my bluetooth device id into the IOBluetoothFamily.kext and now it is working fine~~~~ The only problem is the 16bit color display on my built-in screen. The HDMI display and screenshots all showed up 32bit. I have still not figured out the problem yet~~~~
  9. OMG, I have to thank you for your brilliant idea! I finally found the problem: its the AMDFramebuffer.kext ! What I did was just replace the AMDFramebuffer file in the MacOS folder of 10.10.4's AMDFramebuffer.kext with the one in 10.10.3's AMDFramebuffer.kext, and left other files be their original 10.10.4's. And then after upgraded to 10.10.4 but before restarting I installed the modified AMDFramebuffer.kext to S\L\E via Kext Utility, cleared caches and repaired permissions. Finally after restart everything worked back again! Of course also I modified AMDRadeonX4000.kext , changed the AMDVerdeGraphicsAccelerator section in info.plist file as I mentioned above. Now its working again: So there maybe something different about the AMDFramebuffer file between 10.10.3's AMDFramebuffer.kext and 10.10.4's. Also another thing was that the built-in screen on my laptop is displaying images in 16bit color depths instead of 32bit, this has happened ever since 10.10, i still couldn't figure out the reason yet. But thank you for your help with my black screen issue! Now I gotta figure out what's going on with the AMDFramebuffer file~~~~
  10. OK, the answer to your first question is that I used the attached php file. Steps are: 1. Open Terminal, type in "php" and hit "Space" button; 2. Simply drag the php file into Terminal and hit "Enter", you should probably need Xcode preinstalled on your Mac As for the second question, I haven't tried any modification yet, 'cause I didn't find any fitted property that contained EDP port info. From 10.10 'til 10.10.3, I got the 7850M card worked fine on my laptop without doing any FB modifying, and I didn't detect any substantial change made in the 10.10.4's AMD7000Controller.kext file. So I don't think that properties modifying should be necessary. Plus once caught up with black screen I would have to roll back to 10.10.3, which would cost me quite amount of time. So I just want to make sure how exactly should I modify the FB info, if I have to~~~~ BTW, I have listed all the FB info below for further reference, just in case~~~~~ These were extracted from 10.10.3 using the above method. I think these should be the same as in 10.10.4~~~~ -------------------------AMD2400Controller.kext------------------------- Iago (2) @ 0xa4b50 LVDS, ???? 02000000400000000900000000010012 11. Thank you for your reply, the Aji ports are: ————————-AMD7000Controller.kext————————- Aji (4) @ 0xa1c60 DP, DP, DDVI, HDMI 00040000040300000001010012040501 00040000040300000001020022050402 04000000140200000001030000000306 00080000040200000001040011020104 I don't know how I should modify them. Since I don't have any DDVI port on my laptop, where should I modify the EDP port info to? Besides, could you please show me where did you find Aji showed up in your PCI devices? Also I tried booting the installation pack of 10.10.3 and 10.10.4 respectively using Chameleon, the 10.10.3 installation worked fine, while the 10.10.4 one caused black screen, too. These two installs were conducted under the exact same settings. Here I attached two videos showing these two installs: 10.10.3 worked fine: 10.10.4 caused black screen: Hope this could help better describe my problem. Could you please show me how to solve this? MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE~~~~~
  12. Thank you very much for your advice! I still get some questions: I followed your advice and connected to a HDMI TV, and found that while laptop was showing black screen, TV showed up completely white screen with no cursor or anything. Does that mean that I should change the numbers of video ports? Also I extracted Framebuffer info from my rom file, it showed as following: senseid txmit enc eDP 02 21 03 DisplayPort 1 03 12 04 DisplayPort 2 04 22 05 HDMI 01 11 02 However I couldn't find any corresponding Framebuffer Personalities under AMD7000Controller, the AMD Radeon HD 7850M card's IDs are: 1002_6827, and so I searched the info from here: http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/tree/HEAD/trunk/i386/libsaio/ati.c#L1233, and the FB info showed as this(line 1233): { 0x6827,0x00000000, CHIP_FAMILY_VERDE,"AMD Radeon HD 7800M Series",kPondweed}, // Mobile It seems that the corresponding FB personality would be Pondweed, but its actually an AMD6000Controller one and its original values are: ————————-AMD6000Controller.kext————————- Pondweed (3) @ 0x19bb70 LVDS, DP, DP 02000000000100000901010010000505 00040000040300000001020011020101 00040000040300000001030021030202 The problem is I don't have any LVDS port and I have no idea what it is, I only got 2 Display ports and an HDMI port on my laptop. So i think my laptop screen is using the eDP port. Upon such situation, do you know which personality should I use? previously from 10.10 to 10.10.3 I have always been setting up Buri as the FB in Chameleon plist file but haven't modified any FB values in AMD7000Controller.kext and it has always been working fine. I have no idea how I should change the FB values. Do you have any idea about this? I have attached the rom file and Framebuffer files for reference: http://www.hackintoshosx.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=6538
