  1. It see it as a modem...just do dial up networking...does not seems to have taken hell lot of load from the CPU...battery life seems ok. If I am able to get it to work as wwan card, I would have more information from the card like signal levels, powering if off, etc...but right now..it's just plain modem...let's hope sierra would come out with the drivers soon to make it a WWAN device instead.

    HP Mini 311 - Support Questions/Requests

Hi Quick question...does anyone have KP out of the blue? Everything seems to be working fine...but every now and then, I get KP. Cannot seems to replicate the situation when I get the KP... The system can be up for a week or so before the KP appears....
  4. Hi Been some time since I posted. Just wanna report that I had successfully configured and installed Sierra Wireless MC8775 (HP) on the WAN Slot...anyone interested I could post detailed instructions.. Only problem is, I can't get it to be recognized as a WWAN adaptor in SL.
  5. Not sure if this is worth mentioning, but it is sure an interesting find... I never had tape any of my pin on my Wireless card (BCM94322HM8L). everything was working fine in SL until I decided to swap my hdd and ran XP to do some testing for my MC8775. Some how, when in XP, it seems like i have switch off the wireless via the wireless button before shutting down in XP and when booting up in SL again, the wifi does not seems to be able to turn on anymore...I could still see it detected though. Rebooted to XP, press the button, turn on wifi, and booted in to SL again and BAM, the wireless card works. The Wireless button actually seems like to be "Remembering" the state during last use, even thought the machine was shutdown (cold boot, with all batter and power removed).... Gonna try to do more testing this weekend with the original stock card to see if it behaves the same..or maybe someone can help to test too....
  6. quick question..isn't the HF1 is supposed to fix the audio error while booting up? I'm still seeing errors while booting up....
  7. Once again, sorry for begining offensive. Same thing here... Been trying to speak to one of the sales and tech online and they do not seems to know nuts... Best would be someone with a Mini to tell us exactly the partnumber... (*wink*wink* @theproto..hee hee..) More over, seems like ordering the part from HP Parts Store is not possible out of America..at least not from where I am located (Asia)....it did be helpful to get as much info for us to order via ebay or other means.
  8. Hi, I'm just wondering where did you come up with this part number? Are you having this part number in your mini? I checked at HP Parts Store for HP Mini 311...but it does not seems to list that particular part as a part for the mini.... sorry if I sound offending...We need to have accurate information... A lot of people depends on this forum for the info to purchase the parts...
  9. Hi Proto, Would you be able to provide the exact HP part number and also the BT Module model number? Thinking to go that direction too..open up the HP and install a seperate bluetooth module and stick with the card that I have now... In this way, will have 802.11/n :-) Many Thanks in advance.
  10. Hmm..if he had not shipped, please change it...i got the same stuff from the guy...lucky I had a confirmation email from him that it does have a bluetooth...
  11. Argh...i bought the card based on a previous post by theproto and had assume that it has BT support plus, the seller did confirm about the BT... guess i have to ship it back to them now... I think we really be a good idea to update the first post to inform people exactly which are the card works and which card does not... On another note, any idea why do I not need to tape the pin 20 for the card to work? Sleep and all is fine..maybe something in the kext might be able to help to patch on what ever cards you guys are using to remove the tape on pin 20? I would still have the card around for a few more days before i ship it back..let me know if you guys need me to test anything.
  12. Hi Guys..this is interesting... I know some might have asked this before, but does the Dell 1510 card a G card or N card? I ordered Dell1510 PCI-E 1/2 height mini card(BCM94322HM8L) on Ebay...it arrived today and some how, there is no Bluetooth on it... On the other hand, I did not have to cover pin 20 for the card to work...though, i lost my bluetooth...Am I getting what i am supposed to get? 13. Found this link though...seems like someone did managed to get it working with an IBM... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t146541.html I've order 1 from Ebay to try it out....set me back about $40, but it comes with antena... Will work on it once I have the device...should be sometime next week.
  14. @theproto Seems like there is soo much confusion about the wireless card and yes, all users can look through the 25 pages of posting to get a good idea.. I'm just wondering if it would be better if the 1st post have some details about the wireless to add the following below? Dell1510 PCI-E 1/2 height mini card(BCM94322HM8L), with BIOS de-white list, pin 20 covered, in 1st slot...etc... On a separate note...Any idea would a HP HS2300 SIERRA MC8775 WWAN+ card work?
