1. OSX on Dell Latitude E6520...

I spent all weekend and I can't get any boot loader onto the HD... maybe it's one of those drives that Chameleon doesn't like... it's a 500gb Scorpio Black. I'm going to try another drive and see what happens. I've already tried #####, champlist doesn't seem to want to run, chimera gives the same error... too bad this laptop can't boot off the SD card..
2. OSX on Dell Latitude E6520...

Does anyone know how to properly install Chameleon? I was using the guide which worked great on my D620 but on the E6520, I'm getting the boot0: error... I've tried everything I could find on the internet. It works fine if I boot off the Chameleon USB stick..
3. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1449620 There's a link there to all the kexts I'm using. These kexts so far have fixed everything problem I ran into like crackling sound, sleep, etc.. There may still be problems that I don't know about but what I need to work is working just fine for me.
4. Sleep's been working fine for me. It's pretty hit and miss it seems like.
5. Doh... spoke too soon, trackpoint and touch pad stopped working at some point and I didn't notice because I was setting it up with a mouse..
6. Figured I share this with everyone. After the 10.6.3 update, I ran Leppy's d620nv in post #2 and most things worked properly... this rar contains fixes for everything else... or rather everything that mattered to me anyways... http://chingchongpingpong.com/Files/D620_Kexts.rar It contains my Extra's folder as well as kexts for sound, crackling coming out of sleep, lid sleep, shutdown/restart fix, ethernet card. For me, it's perfect but who knows, maybe there's something wrong with something I never use like the mic or pcmcia slot..
7. After a few days of tinkering, I got 10.6.3 working perfectly aside from not being able to restart. Shutdown works but not restart. It sleeps properly and the sound doesn't crackle anymore. I got adventurous and did a triple boot with Windows 7 and Lucid Lynx (which is freakin fast BTW). I also managed to create a 400gb shared FAT32 partition that all 3 OS's can see. The tough part was getting that 5th partition because a hybrid GPT/MBR drive only supports 4 partitions and 3 OS's with the EFI partition is 4 already... I'll write more if anyone's interested. I'm 3 mins from leaving the office.
8. I'm actually using a T7600 out of an XPS M2010. Had one die at work so I decided to try it in my D620 and it worked.
9. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

I finally figured out sleep. You have to set the bios to compatible rather than perfomance which limits me to usb 1.1 but that's okay, I don't use many usb storage devices anyways. The only thing I ever really plug in is a mouse. That was the last thing that was bugging me about the D620, everything works the way I want it to now including ethernet.
10. 2000 wasn't really a successor to '98. If you remember, there used to be two Windows lineups and good 'ol Bill announced that they'd be merging them together at some point. There was 3.1, 95, 98, 98SE and Millenium for the home user. For the corporate side, there was 3.11 Windows for Workgroups, NT3.51, NT4 and NT5 which was later renamed to Windows 2000. Windows XP was the first attempt to merging the two together. I like your point about the timing of their announcement. 2 years is the norm for MS but people seem to see it as being rushed to put out an OS that fixes the "problems" with Vista. Why is it that MS is shunned for announcing a new OS after 2 years yet Apple is praised for announcing Snow Leopard last June... only 8 months after the release of Leopard?

Curious, did anyone ever get around the issue with headphones? It's been a while since I rebuilt my D620 Hack and I see that there's been some major progress like the duo core issue and the onboard nic... all I can do without but my biggest annoyance is the speakers are still on when I plug in headphones and there's still some sound even when the volume is all the way down..
12. Mac OS X on a Dell Latitude D620?

I dunno what I did but for about 3 hours today, I was getting both cores in my D620. I then tried to update it to 10.5.4, failed, reloaded 10.5.2 and it wouldn't boot with both cores enabled again... Frustrating...
13. A testament to the stability of OS X

This is more a testament to the hardware fail safe mechanisms than the stability of the OS. I've tried it out on an old PC playing Doom3 and HL2. Pulled the heatsink off at full cpu load and everything slowed to a crawl but never crashed. The CPU should be able to to throttle down it's speed to protect itself from self destructing.
14. Reduce gas using water?

Pretty sure I saw something like this on Mythbusters... it was busted. In theory it'll work but it can't produce hydrogen fast enough to do anything at all.
