A simple app that uses GhostScript to remove the OWNER PASSWORD from pdf files.
It doesn't need to install GhostScript on your machine and doesn't need administrative privileges.
This removes restrictions like you can't save or print the pdf. It will not work with all pdf files,
especially encrypted ones.
Supports batch mode.
Tested under Sierra.
The High Sierra version of the App Store that can run in Mojave. According to my tests they can run in parallel, downloads work, access to purchased tab works.
You can easily access old macOS downloads.
It doesn't need to modify anything on the system.
You might have to open the Terminal and
xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine <Drag and Drop Old App Store.App> in order to run it
* Note: The bundle is named Old App Store.app but it will appear as App Store
To be honest I am not sure if there is a higher version of Flat Package Editor, that's the only one I was able to find and it was not working under Mojave.
As far as I can tell it is working, at least I was able to use it for what I needed it.
You might have to open the Terminal and

I was examining the source code of TextEdit 1.9 (309) and an idea popped into my head. A dark version of TextEdit and in the spirit of sharing I present to you TextEditDark.
Now this was done very quickly and it is based on the older version of TextEdit. The latest available version is 1.10 but the code is not available
In addition, I added an option under Preferences that if checked when the last window is closed TextEdit will close. This in my opinion will make it work more like Notepad on Windows, which I prefer.
Also added a checkbox that if checked will make windows stay on top of all applications have have the opposite effect if unchecked.
Since the windows are HUD Panel there is no minimize or maximize button, I would love to find out a way to implement a minimize and maximize button to HUD window if possible. If anyone knows please share
The lack of buttons is not a problem for me based on how I use TextEdit. I am uploading it in the hopes someone might find it useful or interesting.
All in all, this is a very small modification to Apple's source code of TextEdit.
Disk Utility 13 is back!

To run it you need to Allow apps from Anywhere under System Preferences -> Security & Privacy. To enable this options execute in Terminal: sudo spctl --master-disable
Yosemite Disk Utility for macOS Sierra
Note: When you launch this version two icons will appear on the dock. This is normal behavior!
Debug menu is available to list all partitions and mount EFI.
For the nostalgic or the crazy ones ... your favorite version of Disk Utility now works on macOS Sierra.
Upon launching you will need to provide password to run the scripts that make things spin.
Tested on a fresh install of macOS Sierra, on an actual MacBook Pro (separate machine from the one it was modified on)
Verified the following working:
1. Creating an image, restoring an image, converting an image
2. Partitioning a hard drive, erasing hard drive, restoring to hard drive
3. Verifying disk and repairing disk
4. Burning iso to DVD
Please proceed with caution, I would like some feedback from people on errors or bugs that might come up.
If you constantly access hidden locations or files but you don't want to see the .files all the time, then this app is for you.
QuickPeek is a menubar app that quickly allows you to toggle AppleShowAllFiles TRUE or FALSE by clicking the icon. It automatically restarts the Finder.app for your for changes to take effect.
If you CTRL+Click you will get a menu with additional options.
Not many options at the moment, if you want something implemented please just say something.
If we have any graphics designers in the house that can donate a better looking icon than the one I cooked up please let me know.
1. Create an El Capitan USB installer using your favorite method. (the Applications folder must be accessible on the USB)
2. Drag & drop the volume on the icon in the app
This app will "inject" the Disk Utility included in OS X Yosemite inside an OS X USB Installer. This will allow you to access both the new and old disk utility from the Utilities menu.
On the Yosemite Disk Utility.app debugMode and advanced-mage-options are enabled by default using a patched version.
Drag & drop Install OS X Yosemite.app on the icon.
This app will extract the Disk Utility included in the Install OS X Yosemite.app or in the Install OS X El Capitan.app
Just drag & drop any of the .app on the icon in the app, wait a few seconds and the Disk Utility.app will be extracted to ~/Desktop
After that you can use the diskUtilityPatch.app to patch it for use in El Capitan and use the injectDiskUtility.app to inject it inside an El Capitan USB installer
Drag & drop Disk Utility.app on the icon to patch
This app will patch a restriction inside the Disk Utility that prevents it from starting in OS X 10.11 El Capitan. In addition it will patch the binary so that debugMode and advanced-image-options are always enabled on the resulting Disk Utility.app without the need to modify defaults.
This will allow you to use this version under El Capitan and with a small modification to your USB Installer you can have access to both new and old Disk Utility with the debug menu enabled during install.
What is patched
perl -pi -e 's|\xD5\x84\xC0\x0F\x85\x44\x01\x00\x00\x48\x8B\x05\x10\x5B\x06\x00|\xD5\x84\xC0\xE9\x45\x01\x00\x00\x00\x48\x8B\x05\x10\x5B\x06\x00|g' [Drag & Drop Disk Utility binary]
debugMode can also be achieved by drag and dropping the Disk Utility binary on a terminal window and adding --debugMenu at the end.
