    assistance with Dell Inspiron 8500

Thanks. I've got it installed, and my screen is running at 1400x1050 now I believe thanks to Macvidia. I've solved the mouse, and I bought a Belkin Wireless card so I'm writing this wirelessly at the moment. I need no more assistance. This thread can die.

which files are safe to delete?

Thanks. Knew all the essential ones, but was curious if there were things within /Library that weren't so important.
  3. I'm just looking around and see lots of files that I doubt I'll ever use. The developer folder, an various drivers, et cetera. I was wondering if anyone knows which files aren't essential to running OS X. I hate having unused system files.

Thanks for working on this. I hope you get it functional.
  6. I've been following this OSx86 thing for a few weeks and I've finally decided it's about time to take the plunge. However I, though very computer literate, am not much of a true programmer. I do graphic design, typography, photography, web design, that's my world. I'd like to rid myself of Windows XP completely. I don't have a desire or need to dual-boot. The only programs I use are OpenOffice, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Firefox, and a few others. I've read lots of installation guides and such, I think I've got it all down--nothing too hard for me. I've read the forums for hardware support, but am still trying to figure out this whole wireless thing before I go over to OSx86, my only internet is from wireless. My hardware to install OSx86 on is: Dell Inspiron 8600 Windows XP Professional SP2 1.50 GHz Intel Centrino 1.25 GB RAM 40 GB Hard Drive Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Ethernet Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 BG Network (Internal Wireless) NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 @ 1670x1050 pixels DVD/CDRW I have an external 160 GB but it's got 70 GB free. I'd rather not touch it all. It's all my photography and design files. Any advice / assistance would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: That's a Dell 8600 not an 8500. I shouldn't type in the dark.
