  1. VoodooHDA - common problems

Is there a working version for El Capitan? I'm planning to update to El Capitan on my old hackintosh, but it come with ALC883. Need VoodooHDA for El Capitan to work. Thanks Noodle
  2. Hi Forum, I'm trying to install Yosemite in VirtualBox on FreeNAS. VirtualBox server on FreeNAS is headless, so I open the VNC for it. After I create Yosemite bootable ISO from Install OS X Yosemite.app, create Maverick 64 bit VM, set chipset to PIIX3, I was able to get welcome screen. But the problem is, I cannot move mouse in it. The mouse inside VPN session stuck at top left. Anybody have idea? Thanks Noodle
  3. New Driver for Realtek RTL8111

I checked system.log, and didn't find "Tx stalled", only "Tx timeout". Probably I missed? I will check again. Thanks for your reply Noodle
  4. New Driver for Realtek RTL8111

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean when I lost connection on Ethernet, I should see some error message like "Tx stalled" in system.log?
  5. New Driver for Realtek RTL8111

Hi Mieze, I'm using your driver in one of my Hack-Mini build. Everything work fine with one exception. I cannot send big file out. If I receive big file from remote, or send small file out, all was fine. But if I send big file out (just copy 10G file to remote for example), it will silently stop working after sending 2G to 4G of data randomly. When I say stop working, I mean no error message, but copy stopped/hangs, no system crash, nothing. From outside I cannot ping ethernet port. Renew DHCP on ethernet port will get self assigned address after long waiting. I tried get dmesg and system log, but find nothing. Reboot or wake from sleep will bring it back. (BTW, wake-on-lan still work after sleep). I also tried to use "ifconfig en0 down / ifconfig en0 up", and that can also bring it back. This happened in both 10.10.1 and 10.10.2. Following are the information of ethernet card: Vendor ID: 0x10ec Device ID: 0x8168 Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x19da Subsystem ID: 0x0123 Revision ID: 0x0006 Link Width: x1 BSD name: en0 This is a Zotac ITX-H77-A-E motherboad, and I'm using Clover bootloader. Thanks Noodle
  6. HWSensors

Cannot build HWMonitor.app on 10.10 with latest Xcode. I keep getting this error: HWMonitor/PopupFanCell.m:116:31: error: implicit conversion of 'NSInteger' (aka 'long') to 'NSAppearance *' is disallowed with ARC ...fan.engine.configuration.colorTheme.useBrightIcons.boolValue ? NSPopoverAppearanceHUD : NSPopoverAppearanceMinimal; ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any idea?
  7. Question about Clover

Thanks for you reply, Slice. For question 1, I mean I'm not seeing steps between 2.0G to 3.0G, but only 2.0G and 3.0G. Maybe that's how QX9650 work? For question #2. I tried to completely remove AppleHDA.ext form /S/L/E, and keep patched AppleHDA in EFI partition, but it still not working. Had to put patch AppleHDA under /S/L/E. It's ok to me. Just wondering if this is known issue? Thanks Noodle
  8. Question about Clover

Hi Forum, Just switch to Clover recently, and really like it. Especially I can keep original OSX install untouched, and patch kexts dynamically. But I have two questions about clover. I'm running a pretty old PC. ASUS P5E-VM HDMI motherboard and QX9650 CPU, it has ALC883 audio chip and running latest Mavericks (10.9.4). And my questions are: 1. My CPU shows only two steps: x6 2.0G and x9 3.0G. Not sure if this CPU will only use this two steps or my configuration issue? I didn't change anything relate to CPU in config.plist yet. 2. ALC883 is pretty old audio chip, fortunately, I found a Mavericks AppleHDA.kext for it, and it works fine. However I read somewhere said I need to put this patched kext under /S/L/E, if I keep it in both /S/L/E and /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9, I will get KP, so I just replace the one under /S/L/E with patched. But this make me feel like I'm not really using Clover. So I searched again, and find ForceKextsToLoad. The document and example is not very clear. Is this option means: if I have two version (original and patched) AppleHDA.kext under /S/L/E and /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9, I can force system use the one from /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9 and keep /S/L/E untouched? Also, example shows "\Extra\Extensions", but how about EFI partition? how to specify the kexts from EFI partition? Thanks Noodle
