[Guide] 10.10 On the Surface Pro 3

It appears Yosemite is having problems now too :/ Update 2: I've had a lot of different error messages, etc, but at the moment it's currently going the whole way through the install, hanging after the installation loading bar then all the windows close, the menubar disappears and that's it. I've left to see if it will restart, and after 30 mins it doesn't, and nothing shows up in Clover apart from the install USB and Windows. Has anyone successfully installed OS X on their SP3 in the past month? Because I can't get it to work at all, despite using all the files and instructions from the tutorial.

Hi everyone! Putting OS X back on my SP3 - used to have it a few months ago, but removed it since it took up too much space. (I have a new laptop now ). However, I'm stuck at the screen with a distorted Apple logo and spinning wheel after loading. This happened a while back on my first attempt, and I can't remember what you do to fix it? It's definitely graphics related. Also, is anyone else trying El Capitan on their SP3? Apart from this bug, which I'm sure is fixable, seems to be smooth so far..
3. Currently trying to get OS X on my HP Pavilion 15-p200 Series. Have an i3-5010U, a Broadwell chip with HD 5500 Graphics. No nVidia or AMD graphics cards, just built in. Should be able to run OS X? But I'm pretty stuck. Clover doesn't want to run anything - black screens after choosing device. Chimera loads kernel, but gives ACPI errors. Think I need a kernel patched for Broadwell CPUs? Currently using one copied over from my Mac Mini (2012, i5) since El Capitan doesn't come with one. Edit: Yosemite 10.10.3 kernel Any ideas?

Just found a list of specs on TechRepublic that could be useful. Mentioned audio codec too, but can't yet find a kext that supports it (apart from Voodoo without headphone port). 1.9 GHz Intel Core i5 i5-4300U processor Samsung K4E8E304ED-EGCE 1GB LPDDR3 RAM (4 x 1GB = 4GB total) SK hynix HFS128G3AMNB-2200A AD SSD (128GB) Ntrig NS-P4196 DuoSense Controller Chipset Winbond 25X20CL1G 2Mb Serial Flash QIC1832-B98B P0BH66.00S-7 1412 Winbond 25Q128FVPQ 128Mb Serial Flash Texas Instruments TPS51624 1/2-Phase Step-Down Driverless Controller 97374M TI 441 A71T Marvell Avastar 88W8897 wireless chip Atmel ATMLH412 16CM B 3Y0346C Texas Instruments TPS51367 12-A Integrated FET Converter Texas Instruments CSD87351Q5D Synchronous Buck NexFET Power Block Atmel ATUC256L3U 32-bit AVR UC3 MCU ITE IT8528VG 1407-FXO SC0X1A Infineon SLB 9665 trusted platform module NXP CBTL06GP213six-channel multiplexer for DisplayPort, HDMI and PCI Express Realtek RTS5304 Realtek ALC3264 Audio Codec
5. Hey, I'd love to help! Have an SP3, and know a bit of C++ - Also I'm a CS student at uni, so I have access to books on pretty much any computing topic if need be haha

Just tried the last part of this for the Apple logo - It's fixed the logo but still glitchy in parts. Haven't tried the rest yet since I think the SP3 doesn't have an HD4400? Will have a go later, and see what happens HD4400 shows up in About this Mac - definitely going to try the rest Inspected the injected kexts - all the changes in the guide are applied. Would probably be better to move to Clover config.plist though. Since you can inject the values there and use stock OS X then - which should make the process easier *Also: Still no fix for sleep crash? Can someone else check if this is a bug - pretty sure it is*

Go to Terminal (In Applications > Utilities) and type: defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled 1 This turns on Disk Utility Debug Menu. Go to Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities), click Debug menu, then "Show every partition" SYSTEM should now appear in the left panel of the window. Click on it, then choose the Mount button on the top toolbar.

Same - I've got it at 2560 x 1708, looks like a slightly blurry retina display Still stuck with the sleep issues though - tried removing darkwake from args and messing with config.plist, but still crashes on sleep. Almost certain this is a bug. However, if you modify Clover config.plist to InjectKexts, you don't have to press space on each startup. Also remove -f and you get Apple logo instead of text on boot (although it distorts halfway through)

When my Surface goes to sleep it crashes. Is this what everyone else is getting? Or have I messed up the Intel kexts (Since I accidentally installed all of the custom kexts with ##### and it ruined the graphics, so I replaced some of them with stock Yosemite kexts)

This is AWESOME!!!!! Seriously though, you rock. Tried so many guides back in December, but none would work with my SP3. This worked first time! Incredible. You can even get Retina support - go to Terminal and type: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver DisplayResolutionEnabled -bool YES Then log out, log back in, go to System Preferences > Display, changed to Scaled and select any resolution with HiDPI. (Google around to find out how to make custom HiDPI settings, since the default ones are a bit big on the screen.) Really, really, really cool. My jaw is still wide open from earlier when it passed the Apple logo loading screen for the first time. You sir, are a genius. If we can work out how to boot without USB, then this is the ultimate Hackintosh. I mean, this is the thinnest Intel Core device, so I'm pretty certain this is the thinnest Macintosh in history! What an achievement Also.. If you're having issues with Windows - Boot into Mac OS X with the USB, and install Clover directly onto your Macintosh HD. (With the same UEFI etc settings as described in the guide). This seems to fix the Windows bootloader for some reason, although you still can't boot to Clover without USB.

MacOsX on the Surface Pro 3

Can someone do a quick summary of installing 10.10? I get it to boot up to 'AppleIntelLpssI2C: Probe fails' and it just hangs there. I've tried injecting EDID and Intel Graphics etc. Don't mind about WiFi, Bluetooth, Keyboard, etc, just want to be able to boot OS X so I can run some vector software on it

Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Same for me. Interestingly, after updating Yosemite from DP1 to DP2 ages ago, it refused to boot from Internal GFX, so I've been using an old GeForce card for months. However, despite many attempts, turning off Inject Intel was the first step in getting it to work without crashing at boot, and now with these settings and it turned back on, it's back to pre-DP2 performance... very odd However, the menu issue disappears running apps in full screen mode. I have a feeling the text is actually trying to be transparent, but in full screen mode it goes back to normal white text. Must be a dev bug, should be fixed soon by Apple. The only other issue is weird flicker with the Apple logo between full loaded booting progress bar and login screen, and 3 odd specks near the restart button at login, that look like artifacts. All other performance is good, screensaver, iTunes visualiser, animations, but they can get a bit 'sticky' from time to time. Oh well Oh, and one last thing. Time Machine menu icon is grey in dark mode when using Intel GFX. For some reason the white icon only shows on dedicated cards?? Very odd
