  1. Hi community! I'm using a RTL8192SU WLAN stick that works fine out of the box with the original drivers from Realtek. Under Windows 8.1, OSX 10.10 DP4 (Suface Pro 2), Raspberian (RaspberryPi), Dreambox SAT receiver. The Stick is the original Dreambox mini WLAN stick from my DM7020HD SAT receiver. After a few days the stick unexpectedly stops working, the WLAN utility won't start any more on OS X and also all other OS At first I thought that the stick was defect but thats not the case Under Windows8.1 I saw that it beleves that an other stick is connected without installed drivers. So I looked into the device manager and saw that windows thinks now it's a RTL8188S so I installed the driver and the stick was working again. after a bit of research and with a similar stick of my friend I found out that thew VID (vendor ID) of my stick was changed. How can this be possible??? VID/PID are stored in the devices firmware with should not be able to modify. The first thing I did to get the stick working again is to modify the original kext file in OS X and implement a section with my VID/PID information. It is working so far but did anyone know how I can reprogram my stick to standard values. original stick (from my friend): VID: 07B8 ==> 0000 0111 1011 1000 PID: 8188 ==> 1000 0001 1000 1000 my stick VID:0718 ==> 0000 0111 0001 1000 PID:8188 ==> 1000 0001 1000 1000 thx Mario
  2. Hi tphillips1980! which config.plist did you use? are you injectiong the Intel Graphics patch, which solves the problem for me. Also some useres mentioned that the clover version makes sometimes differences when booting. regards
  3. I'm completely new to OS X so I have not used iMessage & FaceTime so far. iMessage let me login & seems to work (not sure) FaceTime do not let me login with my AppleID Because of the fact that I would not like to enter my credit card number anywhere, I stuck at that How-To http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298027-guide-aio-guides-for-hackintosh/?do=findComment&comment=2020598 maybe thats the solution for you
  4. USB is working again. :-) try the kext link from here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299714-genericusbxhci-and-dp4/?hl=%2Busb! 2nd post! for information: I did only copy all my kext for Surface Pro on my EFI partition /EFI/Clover/kext/10.10 so there will be injected automatically without additional work
  5. Not jet because at the moment I'm at work :-) Yesturday I Installed 10.10 DP2 on an erased partition and saved all the kext. Updated to DP3 and saved all the kext (USB still working) Update to DP4 and fall asleep. :-) for today I will replace USB related kext from DP and try to get USB working again. will tell you if I get it working and how.
  6. After installing the kext correctly an additional network controller will be shown in the network preferences. mayby you have to search for different kexts. Try the one from the SP1 v0.4 Pack in the General Surface running OSX guide. maybe then the NullEthernet.kext will work for your system I put them all into my /EFI/Clover/kext folder to be automatically injected during boot so I have not have to install... kext if I reinstall OSX There is more magic behind the authentification process to iCloud & AppStore so the lets call it simulated Ethernet controller on eth0 with the right serial number in the config.plist is necessary to get the auth working. Also the fakt that we have no wired ethernet controller we have to declare the simulated device as build-in device. see http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/295534-mac-app-store-access-with-nullethernetkext/?p=1988019
  7. Also we have to modify our HOW-To for DP4 It seems that a few fixes has to be made. USB not working (USB-Stick & microSD) regarding the boot hangups I've only copied the posted EFI folder to my EFI partition and all works fine for 10.10 DP2 I've also mentioned that the boot time,... was better than in my old 10.9 configuration The posted EFI files also worked for my previous 10.9 installation Only start from USB/microSD (where the EFI Partition is) and select the right partition. no special boot option was needed in my case
  8. Hmmm! Seems a little bit instable The boot process have to be analysed in more detail. my SP2 also do not boot everytime sometimes it hangs at 50% and sonetimes it immediately reboots. ?!? my luck most of the time the boot process is working well. I will also take a look if I see something in verbose mode
  9. Hi pr3d4t0r Had the same problem today. Try to use an working config.plist in your /EFI/Clover/ for testing you can also use mine after getting yosemite booting I updated to DP4. Seems to work for the moment. :-) sorry forgot to press upload. :-) config.plist.zip
  10. Hi henryxin008! I did the job with the clover configurator. When starting the configurator it automaticalli searches for the config.plist file. the config file ist stort in your boot partition where you have installed the clover bootmanager. (/EFI/Clover/config.plist) You can manualy edit the file and copy&past the generated serial number into the right code line or you can load the config.plist into Clover configurator and let the configurator save the file after generating the serial number. (what I did) - So open clover editor and load the config.plist from /EFI/Clover - in the section SMBios let the configurator fill out the serial number (choosing the ost suitable system for you and let the configurator set random Manufacturing dates,...) - close the configurator and let them save the config.plist file with the modified serial information. you can x-check if the info is stored properly if you wish. just reopen clover configurator and reload the config.plist go into the SMBios section ang see if the generated serial was loaded like it was generated before. regards Mario
  11. Hi munakib! tried a few times your How-To but can't get ist working right. Are there any other requirements that have to be met? App Store starts correct and also updates can be downloaded and installed, but every time i try to install a app (tried only free apps) the App Store tells me that my system or my computer can't be verified. thx Mario Edit: Found the issue. I have to copy the dsdt files to closer to get the correct eth0 device for verification. I Used the one from v0.4 Re-Pack
  12. <surface2osx> Hi to all! I would like to thank you all. Today I got my SP2 working with OS X 10.9.3 and 10.10 DP2 and a RTL8192su WiFi adapter. Now the system is ready for me for daily use. THX Mario
  13. <surface2osx> Hi aardvark23! Thanks for the tip, tried different kernels v0.3, 0.4 and the kernel provided by the vanilla image i used (from the RAW file in the How-To) It costs me a few hours but now with a minimum of changes I was able to boot into OSX. Only installed OSX on a fresh erased partition and copy the provided mach_kernel to the root of the partition. starting "without cache and with injecting kext" is working so far. (no kext copied to the partition!!) Thanks a lot to the forum for the fasts replay and help when asking. Now I will go step by step further to get WLAN and touch working if i can. :-) After a few reboots here what I figured out whats the problem: burning image via TeansMac to the USB drive copy mach_kernel from SP2 v0.4 pack to the root of the hfs+ partition (via TransMac) copy config.plist and modify it to inject IntelGrafics automatically Start SP2 from USB drive (holding Vol- button while power up) and start without cache and with injecting kext to enter the setup erase the partition with hfs+ and install OSX to this partition thats all I need Additional: copy the kext from the v0.4 package exept the VoodooHDA.kex to /System/Library/Extensions/ The VoodooHDA.kext is the problem why my SP2 is hanging in a bootlopp.
  14. Thank you JahStories! I was able to boot into the installer by the vanilla OSX Vanilla RAW image for Windows from an How-To here in the forum. The only modification was to mentioned in CLOVER to inject for Intel grafics. Installation went throuh theend and I was able to copy the kext from my bootstick to the mounted installation partition. But booting the partition will always lead to a reboot. I tried to take a photo but wasn't able to get a clear one so far. Is there a boot log file or so to provide you the info for help solving my problem? (and read the whole contens without stress :-) ) I think it hase something to do with the FakeSMC.kext so I tried 2 different versions but without success. currently I use the v0.4 package from the thread. Maybe I'l try also v0.3 for tests BTW: I also tried to copy the patched mach_kernal to the root of the install partition but this doesn't work too
  15. (surface2osx) Hi Guys! Since a week I found your great tutorial and like to install OSX too. After getting different versions of OSX images I tried to make a bootable USB drive in windows. I use the trial version of transmac and the bootdisk utility to prepair my image. 2 usb drives (2GB for Clover bootmanager only, 32GB drive for OSX image) after a few boot cycles I get the kernel loading from the 2nd usb drive. However I get errors that files cant be found or are to small. I searched in the image for the files one by one and figured out that the files are only links to another file in an other location of the image. After solving a few of this issues by simply coping the destination of the link to the place where the boot process wants to find them I want to solve the main problem why links cant be interpreted in the boot process. did anyone get similar issues or can me help solfing my problem? Its my first post here so I hope the signature and the prefix of the post is like you want it. Thanks, Mario
