  1. Instant Reboot on Haswell

Thanks guys!! I'll definitely give those a try!
  2. I have an Intel i5-4200M CPU and from what I've been told, it is a haswell processor so it will reboot before going into any Mac installation (tried distros, vanilla, etc.) and each have required boot args such as "hp" or "haswell" or "xpcm-free" to boot into the installation. Otherwise, it instantly reboots before going into the installation from the bootloader. I made a bootable USB using Pandora but I'm having this issue again where I cannot load the installation. Does anyone know what I can do for this? Is there a file I need to add or is there a boot arg already designed for this by default?
  3. Oh ok, I apologize for requesting help here on that. I didn't realize that the topic was not to be discussed on these forums. I will definitely give your guides a shot. I'm sure I'll have better luck there anyway. Thanks for the help!
  4. Hey guys! I've been having some issues with installing Mac on my PC and I've tried a number of different options. Right now, I've gotten a version of iATKOS designed for my computer but having issues just getting to the installation. I'm running on an Intel i5-4200M CPU with Intel 4600 HD Graphics. So my installation requires me to run the boot flag "haswell" to get it going since this Intel processor instantly reboots otherwise. But I think my issue lies in the FakeSMC.kext file. If I boot with just "haswell", the gray Apple logo appears, but the it sits there for hours without ever loading. I rebooted and tried "haswell -v" and think I've found my issue. The last bits of lines shown on -v before showing a kernel panic are this: Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,3)/haswell] -1096 bytes ...(jumping down lines to the last 3 lines)... LoadDrivers: Loading from [/system/Library/Extensions.mkext] Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,3)/System/Library/Extensions.mkext] 4096 bytes Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,3)/System/Library/Extensions.mkext] 10336595 bytes. The kernel panic displayed was this: (On this boot attempt, I also used -x for safe mode, so that's why it's shown.) 5. Hi All!

Hi everyone! I'm familiar with OSX86 by just reading a few forum posts and what it is, in a nutshell, but haven't ever successfully installed it onto any device. Most of the issues I experienced were due to not having sufficient drivers needed and trying my absolute hardest to get it working on AMD processors that were just incompatible. I just bought a new machine and would like to get started on trying an installation. The machine is a laptop and HP, no less, so I already understand that the process will be more difficult but I'd like to give it a try anyway, even if I can't get all of the features working. I was curious what suggestions you guys had for a beginner, like myself, as to where to start. One of my issues now is trying to decide what's the highest OS I can install. Years ago, it was either Leopard or Snow Leopard, but I understand I probably can't install 10.9 Mavericks but perhaps I can go as high as 10.8 Lion? Where could I find this out or is this done by a trial and error process? My machine is relatively new as well so I may be a pioneer here. It's an HP Envy TouchSmart m6-n012dx running on an Intel Core i5-4200M CPU. I'm including a text file from CPU-Z about my PC's specs. HPEV.txt
