  2. iAtKOS1.0i dvd won't boot

Hi. I've been having problems trying to install Leopard on a IBM Thinkpad T43. I am using the the iAtKOS1.0i, but it doesn't boot into the installation. It goes into the grey screen with apple loading sign, and after that it just restarts the computer. I've tried the same dvd on a Dell Inspiron laptop and it loads perfectly fine . Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  3. What network cards work?

hi all, I have an IBM/Lenovo thinkpad T43. It has the Intel 2200 pro, I pulled it out and am planning to replace it with a mac os compatible card. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what mini wireless adapter I should get and where. I've tried looking for the ibm replacement for the T43 but no luck. However, I found a 802.11 a/b/g wireless mini pci adapter for T60, but I don't know if it will work for the T43. Thanks ns
  4. Vista/mac dual boot help.

Hi gotschi, followed your suggestion. But I wasn't clear on the part where I'm supposed to use the disk repair utility. Do I use the mac disk utility or the windows Startup Repair option on the Vista DVD? thanks.
  5. Ive never seen that before, not normal to me. But as long as it works I think its ok. Cool effects though haha looks like somethings trying to get out of your screen. reminds me of that movie pulse.
  6. [How To] Mac OS X 86 on ThinkPad T43

I was wondering if the iwi2200 users are able to connect to wep/wpa protected networks? Cuz I can't. Wondering if I should just swap out my wireless adapter for a compatible one, once i get it to dualboot
  7. OSx86

I agree with spoone. I do wonder if Apple ever did release mac os for generic PCs would it be able to take away microsoft's thunder.
  8. Dual Boot *Noob alert*

I personally liked the chain0 method when I dual booted XP and Mac OS X. As for the .dmg I would just convert it to .iso or something and burn it. a quick google search will do.
  9. Do you use iCal?

Yes I use iCal when my mac os was working. I found that it was a lot more useful than my old method of writing notes on the back of napkins or receipts.
  10. Vista/mac dual boot help.

Hi, Ive been having trouble getting Vista and Mac to dual boot on my ibm T43. I've read the vista dualboot guides over the past few days religiously... but to no avail. I have successfully dual booted XP and mac os 10.4.8 in the past, vista however seems to be a little tough at the moment. I am using the JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2.iso and Vista. I install Vista first like the tut say then Mac OS X. The problem is I can't boot back into Vista, something about a winload error... So I try the whole process over again a couple of times, no results. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. P.S. - Another thing that puzzles me is that ever time I try a clean install of vista and Mac OS X, Mac OS X still appears to be on the harddrive even after i format with the Vista DVD. I guess its still on my harddrive but I cant boot into it... Is there anyway to completely purge the harddrive short of putting a giant magnet up to it? Thanks.

  12. jas 10.4.8 chain0 method not working

Press F8 real quick after you select from the boot screen. Then you should the darwin boot screen, then just boot into mac os. You need to modify the com.apple.Boot.plist to make the time longer. start terminal. 1. type in sudo -s 2. type in password 3. nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist 4. add this <key>Timeout</key> <string>10</string> save and reboot. the timer on darwin should give you 10 seconds to select.
  13. Hi, I've been having troubles with the installing mac os on my old pc. I'm using the Jas 10.4.8 Intel sse2/3 version. My setup: Intel P4 2.4 ghz (wiki said it's compatible) MSI 845G Max (478 soc) Nvidia ti 200 WD 160 gb harddrive Pioneer DVD-R I think I have successfully installed in onto the harddrive, but when installation is done I can't get into the mac os. I just get mac's grey screen of death telling me to reboot, but same thing over and over. I guess it isn't so successful after all. Any ideas? thanks ns
  14. Need help with install.

it could be your dvd. Try to burn it at lowest speed possible, no scratches dirt etc. In my case, my old pioneer dvd-rom wasn't able to read what I burned. So I made my dvd burner my master and it read. haha.. but I can't get into mac os x, I get the mac's grey screen of death...a lot more soothing and calm then windows death screen Found this at http://osx86help.we.bs/index.html 5. Fix for the "still waiting for boot device" error This error is because your boot device controller is not detected, preventing your HD or DVD reader from working. The simplest way is to install through vmware on a physical drive VMware installation will allow you to boot your OSX install inside the VM and then add the required driver that will allow to boot natively. To know which driver your setup requires, you need to know the EXACT model of IDE or SATA controller to which your boot device is connected. Google it searching for some infos about your motherboard or computer model, the HD controller is usually built in the chipset (intel ICH, nVidia nForce, SIS) or built-in the motherboard (Jmicron)
