    Windows Genuine Advantage (spit)

What's the big deal, Microsoft has the right to, and should be protecting their OS from running illegaly. This patch then shouldn't bother you, if it does, then you're running an illegal OS. You should have it legally, if you don;t and dont like that, don't run it to begin with.

    Games in Parallels

3D acceleration doesn't work, because it emulates a virtual video card (it does not virtualize your full card), and it's like 8mb of vram. Maybe one day they'll tie it in with CI.

We cannot provide that on these forums in america, it's a violation of the DMCA.

    The Ultimate Web Browser

On mac, safari. It's what comes with OS X, works nicely and streamlined for me, and is perfectly fast with my 8Mbps cable connection. For Windows IE7/IE7+ on Vista. I know this may get eaten up, but as long as I browse safely, and have an AV, IE is fine, and it's the fastest browser I've ever used, it's very compatible, and I just like IE7+'s interface. IE6 is fine for Xp too. Linux/Unix/BSD: Firefox. Opera to me is just trying to be too much for a browser, while it's lightweight, and sometimes debatably faster, and does pass the ACID test, it just has too many incompatabilities for me. It is easier to compile though. Not only that, but most distros just come with Firefox/Thunderbird/Sunbird already included, and they're integral to the system with custom theming and auto updates. Overall: I'll take IE7+ on Vista first, Safari on Mac second, and Firefox on Linux third.

    Dual Booting with vista

I'll copy all that into text and post it for later, but for now: Type: nVidia GeForce FX5500 Bus: PCI Slot: J7B2 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: nVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0326 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Really wierd, the kext info is gone, and as most of you probably know this card isn't supported, and the PCI slot certainly isn't. I didn't do Macvidia or anything either. Strange, but I'm not complaining. It's just a BFGtech overclocked 5500FX PCI card.

    Dual Booting with vista

Since vista doesn't use boot.ini, and is not compatible with either GRUB or LILO, and I don't know if it works with Acronis (which sucks anyway), it seems entering the BIOS and changing the setting of first HDD may work. I'll try and let you know, because for some reason my 5500FX PCI is repporting QE/CI, something I also need to check in on.

    IE is Evil

People who put that {censored} on the internet are nothing more than angry fanboys with nothing better to do with their lives. I can make a long list of complaints about a lot of other things, but in the end it doesn't really matter. To the few mac/linux fanboys, he'll get some cheers, but to regular people, that owner looks like an ass.

No Sound with intel flash plugin

It's a known problem with Safari and other mac browsers. That's why the mac version of google video player comes up first when you access the google page. It was designed because macs don't have good support for the online player. Just click download for the video and it'll automatically open up GVP.app. Alternatively, you can select iPod video format and download/play in quicktime.
  9. The best to beat a quad G5 wouldn't run on OS X, because it won't use an Intel chipset. A 2x Dual core Opteron would be the best route for that, but unfortunately, hardware support would probably need some work. To beat a dual G5, any dual Core Pentium/Core Duo/Core 2 (Conroe/Merom)/and some single Pentium 4s would take it easily. The MBP will be beaten by a desktop of the same calibur as mentioned above. Any merom offerings that come out in august will be superior, that's why I think you should wait to get the merom based revision.

    Windows Genuine Advantage (spit)

I don't blame Microsoft from doing what they do. Anyone who has a legal OS should have no problem with activating and validating. If you're using it illegaly, you're not supposed to be, and MS shouldn't care what you feel. No offence, but with the high number of piracy on Microsoft Operating systems, they deserve to protect their software.
  11. Wait for VMware to release something it'll be way more powerful. Parallels on Windows (uses same engine as Xp), can't even hold a candle to VMware.
  12. Actually, for laptops, the chip will be called merom. Anyway, it looks like if 10.4.7 cannot be cracked, it won't be the end of the world. However, if 10.4.9 can't be, there may be trouble. Even worse is if any of 10.5 cannot be. Many 10.5 based apps will still retain 10.4.9 compatibility, but it may not stay so true for every app. Basically, if things stop getting cracked, it'll be useless, as with Macs, updated OS is critical to having a good useful system.

    Unsatisfied with OSx86?

Well, to be honest, with safe browsing, I've never had any trouble with viruses. Windows to me just seems to run faster, and with the right non hogging software installed, it runs well. I do agree OS X is overall probably better, just too hard to migrate and adjust to for me unfortunately. If I hated it, I wouldn't have been here trying to get it to work in the first place.

    iWeb won't install?

And you downloaded the iLife only torrent correct? You need to just check of iWeb when you are installing. Alternately, you can click iLife/show package contents/iWeb.

iLife --> iMovie + iWeb + iDVD PROBLEM!

It can't be done in iMovie. Code in iMovie requires it.
