1. Found out that if I disable SpeedStep, MSR Tool constantly shows that my CPU runs @ 1.2GHz. Strange...
2. As in title. After few month I finally managed to install OSX on my machine: P7P55D (without any pre- and suffixes, just vanilla P7P55D) HD5870 2x 2GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz i5 750 2x Samsung HD502HJ CoolerMaster Silent Pro M1000W And everything wen fine: I've installed retail 10.6.3 using tonymacx86's HD5xxx boot CD (v. 3) on a RAID 0 volume (called "Snow"), then after updating to 10.6.4 and installing Graphics Update, using #####, I've installed my DSDT, VoodooHDA, ATY_Init_Vervet, Realtek R1000SL and added "32-bit GraphicsEnabler=No" to com.apple.Boot.plist. Then I've made my RAID bootable (installed AsereBLN chameleon on both "Mac OS X Boot" hidden partitions, copied over my Extra folder etc.). Now everything works perfectly (minor changes to DSDT - just edited HPET, RTC, TIMR and PIC - everything works, didn't even edit SBRG - I simply love this board), except one thing (now the fun begins)... If I have SpeedStep turned on I get around 6k points in 32bit Geekbench - OK. But after I disable it (and I have to - will explain later) GeekBench runs definitely longer and I get only about 2.5k points. After re-enabling SpeedStep again - 6k points. Someone would say - "So leave the SpeedStep on". But I can't. Firstly I'm waiting for HR-02 () to overclock to 4.2GHz (my CPU does it at 1.38V) and SpeedStep surely won't help me in overclocking. Secondly my card (as many others) has sort of "whine" problem. Almost every fast graphics card whines under hard load but mine does it too in idle. I've found out that turning off SpeedStep solves this. The whine in idle while speedstep is on, is of course a lot quieter, but it still is, and it is annoying. I guess it occurs due to fact that my PSU has one 80A rail, and when, for example CPU changes its voltage or something, that graphic card's power section must sort of "react" for this and durning that "reaction" it whines. When SpeedStep is turned off, cpu constantly has the same clock speed and voltage, thus card doesn't whine. Ufff.... that was hard to explain Simplifying - I need to have SpeedStep turned off, otherwise my graphic card's sounds will drive me crazy. So - anyone have an idea how to turn off speedstep and still have full performance ? (I've already tried to manualy set BCLK and other speeds in bios, and then turning off the speedstep, but I still get low scores). /EDIT I guess that's the correct forum category for this topic - sorry for mess. /EDIT2 I've finally found the guilty, but I don't know how to deal with that. Right now I have normal (i.e. non-RAID) partition on one hard disk. I installed a chameleon on it, and it boots OK but with SpeedStep problem. But if I delete the whole Extensions folder from /Extra (I have fakesmc and IoAHCIStorage... for icons) the system boots at full speed. But now I don't have sleep (if I put fakesmc back again I have the sleep but I don't have full speed). So what should I do now ?

4. GeForce 200 series support

Yahooo! I've just installed fresh iAtkos 5i, then booted it in safe mode, installed gt200_drivers_pkg, then netkas's enabler and... Works perfectly ! Proof I'm using Gigabyte GTX 260 192sp (bought in July )
5. ALC 885 (DFI P45-T2RS) and Audigy SE

I have mobo and card from title and both of them aren't working. For ALC885 I found one solution on this forum but it soesn't work for me (with Linux dump), for Audigy I didn't find anything... What I must do or buy ?
6. Too late I bought 7900GS But I hope support for GTX 260 will come out soon and then I'll only have to swap cards and sell 7900GS
7. OK, I'm adding my hardware to the database, but how can I see other hardware instructions and opinions ? Because when I'm clicking on any hardware pops up window in wich I can add my own opinions etc. I don't see what other users written...
8. I would want to, but I don't have money. I can only afford 8800GS wich I think should work ('cause iMac has it built in), but I didn't find much tutorials and opinions about that card, so I think I'll go with 7900GS... /EDIT I'm going to buy that card ---> http://www.allegro.pl/item556984201_xfx_ge...t_super_oc.html and as you see it's 20mins to end of auction, so If you think 8800GS will be better (and easier to install) write it, quickly
9. Hi! Because my GTX260 don't have support under OSX, I need to buy new card. I've chosen 78xx/79xx series. From what I've read the most non problematic is 7900GS 256MB, but I've found two faster cards from this series wich I can afford - 7800GTX and 7900GTX. Are the modded bioses universal for those cards ? Can I for example flash bios from XFX to BFG card ? (I think it should be possible if they have the same aumount of ROM memory, but I wanna get sure...) And on the wiki page it's written that for example 7900GTX works with flashed bios and Kalyway Patch - what is this patch, I can't find it anywhere, is it on Kaly's 10.5.2 DVD ? And why this patch, shouldn't it work with nVinject, should it ? These are the cards I'm choosing from: http://www.allegro.pl/item558061637_nowa_a..._sample_gw.html http://www.allegro.pl/item559836083_potwor...00_pozytyw.html http://www.allegro.pl/item555981238_7800_g...ell_tv_out.html
10. Nvidia GT200 Series ?

Exactly 'cause I'm also intrested... And what about trying to port those drivers for Leo, anyone with good knowledge can try ?
11. Two different graphics possibile?

@x986123 It might work, but for time you will use OSX, you must boot system from other card (DFI bioses have an option like that - you can select from wich slot computer should boot), and ofkoz reconnect monitor cable to other card or if you have good D-Sub cable you can connect DVI to card you use most, and to other card you can connect monitor using D-Sub and then you just have to change input in OSD (and of course cards in bios). In my case I'm using D-Sub with GTX 260 in Windows environment while playing games, and DVI with 7900GS through DVI with OSX.
12. iDeneb and iAtkos - stops booting

Sorry for three posts in a row but I just must say that: It works ! As I thought it was the graphics card problem - I've installed Graphics Update (befor I didn't even opened that section during install) from Drivers -> Graphics in iAtkos installer and it works. Ofkoz Frambuffer is slow and has lots of bugs (biggest with refreshing webpages in Safari) but I've just bought 7900GS (referent), and I can hide GTX 260 to the box and wait until support for it will come out:) Install is fully vanilla with EFIv9 and 9.5.0 Kernel. Updated to 10.5.6 without any problems (didn't even crashed after first of two rebbots while installing an update).
13. Firstable sorry for my poor english I've managed to install Leo on my new machine (C2D E8600, DFI LP DK P45 T2RS, 4Gigs of RAM, GTX 260, one HD (Barracuda 7200.11 500GB)), but it stops during boot. As it's written on wiki this mobo should be one of the best for building osx86 systems... The system stops at mDNSReporter: starting. When I boot system with "-x" parameter it boots in safe mode. I've read somewhere that moving mDNS from /usr/bin to any other folder turns it off. And yes, now when I'm booting system mDNS isn't staring, but it stops on step before loading mDNS (I'm writing from work right now so I don't remeber on wich). So I though maybe mDNS isn't the problem. I've googled, that when boot stops on for example mDNS it really stops one step further (next kext, or system feature...) but don't display it. Is it true ? In that case the graphics driver should be the problem but I didn't install any 'cause I have unsupported card and I want to use vesa. Kaly 10.5.2 works like charm OOBE but it have problems with SU, and i want to use iAtkos 5i. Please help me - I've alredy changed mobo for my osx86 system (Previously I had Striker Extreme - 680i mobo). And wich cheap card (7300, 7600, 7900) would be the best and non problematic ?
14. Hi! About year ago I have installed sucesfully 10.4.8 on my Acer Notebook (there was lot to do 'cause my network cards and sound weren't working), but now I have bought a new PC and I want to install Leo on it. My config is E3110 @ 4GHz, EP35-DS3 (but I'm on buying Asus Maximus Formula II), 4 Gigs od RAM, 500GB HD and GTX 260. I know there still doesn't exist driver for my card so I will buy 7900GS. My main question is wich Leo should I download (10.5.4 JaS, 10.5.2 Kalyway ?) and what should I choose durning installation to have sound, network etc. and to be able to update system through SU (I know i need Vanilla kernel but there's many of them). Which drivers aren't included with Leo and where I should download them ? If you can, write "tutorials" for both MOBOs (Gigabyte and Asus). And please don't delete this topic, because I have serched and I didn't found situation like mine (most mobos form Gig I found were EP35-DS3L), and I don't have much time to serach more. PLS help
