  1. Toshiba & Yosemite?

For $200 I can get a Toshiba Laptop... I'm planning to turn it into a Hackintosh if I get it. Before I do, would anyone know if Toshiba laptops can run Yosemite? Yosemite confuses me. My Dell desktop runs Mavericks as good as my brother's MacBook Pro; but when I tried for two days to install Yosemite on it, I couldn't get the installer to start.
  2. Hello. I am a total newbie to Hackintosh(es) and would like some help on this matter of "kernel panic". About every 2-3 boots I encounter a kernel panick when I boot my Hackintosh. Usually, I encounter 2 kernel panicks in a row until I finally get it to boot. I thought it would be helpful to include, not only my PC & build, but the kernel panick message. • OS º Mavericks 10.9.2 • Running On º Dell Inspiron 560 • Specs º 3.0Ghz Dual-Core Pentium II processor º Nvidia GeForce 550GTX º 4GB of Memory º NetGear WN311B Wireless Card º Everything else is, such as Ethernet; Sound; etc., is on the motherboard. I have tried the Mach_Kernel boot flag and it doesn't make any difference. Now here's the on-screen kernel panick message in full: panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80002ddbe2e): Kernel trap at 0xffffff7f80b7a235, type 14=page fault, registers: ** AppleSMBusPCI::start failed to get acpi path for provider init probe start [iOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed DSMOS has arrived CR0: 0x000000008001003b, CR2: 0xffffff800b1630bd, CR3: 0x000000000267e000, CR4: 0x0000000000000660 RAX: 0xffffff800b162f64, RBX: 0x00000000000000006, RCX: 0x00000000000000001, RDX: 0x00000000000000ff RSP: 0xffffff807f3c70, RBP: 0xffffff807f0f3ce0, RSI: 0x000000000000015c, RDI: 0xffffff800b162f64 R8: 0x0000000000000010, R9: 0x00000000000000001, R10: 0x00000000000000000, R11: 0x00000000000000000 R12: 0xffffff800b06fc08, R13: 0xffffff800a692d38, R14: 0xffffff800b162e08, R15: 0x000000000000000001 RFL: 0x0000000000010286, RIP: 0xfffff7f80b7a235, CS: 0x00000000000000008, SS: 0x0000000000000010 Fault CR2: 0xffffff800b1630bd, Error code: 0x00000000000000008, Fault CPU 0x0 Debugger called: <panic> Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff807f0f3900 : 0xffffff8000222f19 0xffffff807f0f3980 : 0xffffff80002dbe2e 0xffffff807f0f3b50 : 0xffffff80002f3326 0xffffff807f0f3b70 : 0xffffff7f80b7a235 0xffffff807f0f3ce0 : 0xffffff7f80b7baec 0xffffff807f0f3d40 : 0xffffff7f80b7cdd2 0xffffff807f0f3d80 : 0xffffff7f80b7ce6e 0xffffff807f0f3db0 : 0xffffff7f80b70136 0xffffff807f0f3e20 : 0xffffff7f80b37bbb 0xffffff807f0f5e50 : 0xffffff8000692f1f 0xffffff807f0f3ea0 : 0xffffff8000692adf 0xffffff807f0f3f30 : 0xffffff800068e6b9 0xffffff807f0f3f70 : 0xffffff8000693633 0xffffff807f0f3fb0 : 0xffffff80002d6ff7 Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.iokit.IOAudioFamily(1,9,5f2)[F387BB55-BB36-3C51-8BF5-3A957E30D539]@0xffffff7f80b34000->0xffffff7f80b6afff dependency: com.apple.kext.OSvKernDSPLib(1.14)[7C60EDB3-7527-3412-B424-C9A667A65B92]@0xffffff7f80b22000 org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA(2.7.3)[E5C6E3AE-FEC6-33C6-33D5-B526-5706F1C442CB]@0xffffff7f80b6b000->0xffffff7f80b8bfff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOAudioFamily(1.9.5fc5)[E387BB55-BB36-3C51-8BF5-3A957E30D539]@0xffffff7f80b34000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[EDA75*Spinning doohickey in the way*4E9D-34E7-A2C5-14F0C8817D37]@0xffffff7f808bb000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Boot args: boot-uuid=6E50D1F9-D95B-3071-8E7c-E9167D905C15 rd=*uuid Mac OS version: 13C64 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 13.1.0: Thu Jan 16 19:40:37 PST 2014; root:xnu-2422.90.20~2/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 9FEA8EDC-B629-3ED2-6521A1885953 System uptime in nanoseconds: 172144200578) ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– If there is anything to be taken from the above System message, I hope it can be used here. Sorry if I messed up on the memory addresses below "DSMOS has arrived", I think I may have missed or added a few numbers to those individual addresses... Though I don't know if they matter. I just included them so my piece would be comprehensive. Every time I get this, its a different message entirely; which I'm sure is just the standard nature of kernel panics & BSOD's. Thank you in advanced for your help, –-Bob
  3. Broadcom BCM4321 - Lion

While my WN311B card was detected, it couldn't connect to a WiFi network. After adding these 3 files, OS X Mavericks didn't see the card at all. Now I don't know how to fix it; I blew 2 and a half hours trying to fix it to no avail.
  4. Broadcom bcm43xx wireless driver [beta]

Hi all. I am new to OS X, I just built my first Hackintosh around a week ago. Primary question: Will this little script work with 10.9 Mavericks? Secondary, less important question: My device id is 4329 - it is a WN611B mini PCI card. Any idea if it will work? Mainly I would like to know if it is compatible with Mavericks, the card compatibility is secondary. Because if it can't work in Mavericks, then its useless to know if this script will work with the card. Thank you for all the help, and especially for the helpful script!
