  8. Saphire 6870 vapor-x and apple MDP -> VGA Help

I have a sapphire 6870 that I've tried several configurations. Using GraphicsEnabler=No i got all screens working Using GraphicsEnabler=Yes i was only to get vga working via the apple mini dp -> vga adapter. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...0804&st=520
  9. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

I have a Sapphire 6870. Here are my results. Using GraphicsEnabler=Yes After much testing with many, many different adapters I have concluded that with these drivers they absolutely will not output DVI-I -> VGA. However, if you use a display port -> ACTIVE DISPLAY PORT 2 VGA Adapter -> VGA, it will work. Left4Dead2 frame rates are absolutely horrible, but it does run. abense@ds3losx(/Users/abense)$ ioreg | grep ATY | | | +-o ATY,Duckweed@0 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000307, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (4257 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,Duckweed@1 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000308, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (10 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,Duckweed@2 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000309, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (6 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,Duckweed@3 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x10000030a, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (6 ms), retain 7> abense@ds3losx(/Users/abense)$ Information from System Profiler AMD Radeon HD 6870: Chipset Model: AMD Radeon HD 6870 Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 1024 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x6738 Revision ID: 0x0000 Using GraphicsEnabler=No DVI-I -> VGA WORKS Left4Dead2 will not launch abense@ds3losx(/Users/abense)$ ioreg | grep ATY | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@0 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x1000002ff, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (4205 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@1 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000300, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (8 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@2 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000301, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (8 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@3 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000302, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (5 ms), retain 7> | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@4 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000303, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (5 ms), retain 7> abense@ds3losx(/Users/abense)$ Information from System Profiler ATI Radeon HD NI40: Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD NI40 Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 1024 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x6738 Revision ID: 0x0000
  10. I have a sony vgn-n385e with iatkos 5i installed, sucessfully updated to 10.5.6 here's the specs: t5300 1.73 ghz core2duo (533mhz fsb) 2gb ram GMA 950 graphics some alc audio card, will have to use linux to figure out exactly I was using the gma950-b driver that came with the iatkos, but i couldn't get 16:10 aspect resolutions on my lcd (native is 1280x800) so i got a gma950.zip and installed it, it works. I believe that this is the previous edition gma950 driver that breaks after updating. My system is lagging, and it's odd. I cannot playback videos that I can play in other operating systems, for example 720p mkvs. I have heard others talk about achi or something like that in BIOS, however that is not an option in my BIOS. Here is a result of my xbench and since this forum can't keep tab seperated values straight, here's a pastebin http://pastebin.com/f25c07567 Results 59.11 System Info Xbench Version 1.3 System Version 10.5.6 (9G55) Physical RAM 2048 MB Model MacPro3,1 Drive Type Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 CPU Test 41.48 GCD Loop 86.62 4.57 Mops/sec Floating Point Basic 41.05 975.36 Mflop/sec vecLib FFT 27.07 892.99 Mflop/sec Floating Point Library 42.40 7.38 Mops/sec Thread Test 100.60 Computation 103.08 2.09 Mops/sec, 4 threads Lock Contention 98.23 4.23 Mlocks/sec, 4 threads Memory Test 59.88 System 53.91 Allocate 93.68 344.02 Kalloc/sec Fill 45.23 2199.09 MB/sec Copy 43.73 903.31 MB/sec Stream 67.34 Copy 95.12 1964.75 MB/sec Scale 57.19 1181.46 MB/sec Add 60.88 1296.88 MB/sec Triad 66.76 1428.19 MB/sec Quartz Graphics Test 57.48 Line 50.62 3.37 Klines/sec [50% alpha] Rectangle 57.53 17.18 Krects/sec [50% alpha] Circle 50.02 4.08 Kcircles/sec [50% alpha] Bezier 59.40 1.50 Kbeziers/sec [50% alpha] Text 76.78 4.80 Kchars/sec OpenGL Graphics Test 162.98 Spinning Squares 162.98 206.75 frames/sec User Interface Test 43.49 Elements 43.49 199.60 refresh/sec Disk Test 39.05 Sequential 61.43 Uncached Write 59.16 36.33 MB/sec [4K blocks] Uncached Write 57.94 32.78 MB/sec [256K blocks] Uncached Read 61.27 17.93 MB/sec [4K blocks] Uncached Read 68.32 34.34 MB/sec [256K blocks] Random 28.62 Uncached Write 10.44 1.11 MB/sec [4K blocks] Uncached Write 60.25 19.29 MB/sec [256K blocks] Uncached Read 64.12 0.45 MB/sec [4K blocks] Uncached Read 84.99 15.77 MB/sec [256K blocks]
  11. iATKOS 5i 10.5.5 Intel DVD

I installed earlier on my sony vgn-n385e notebook, here's my previous thread. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=108068 I updated to 10.5.6 using apple update, it worked flawlessly. I am having an issue with my screen resolution, My notebook only supports 1280x800, but that option is not available, I am currently using 1280x768. I am using the gma950-b option. I have tried /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and adding <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>"Graphics Mode"="1280x800x16"</string> <key>Boot Graphics</key> to it, but still nothing. Have any of you guys ran into anything like this?
  12. it's in the kalyway combo updater thinger
  13. Users with GMA 950 / X3100 Real Macs needed here

What I don't understand, is that when I load warsow, i get like 3-4 fps, on low settings. However when I was in windows, i get like 70fps on high settings. Something can't be right here
  14. checking in. Actually, you know what dip{censored}s, the first step to diagnosing a new problem is to backtrack and review over EXACTLY what changes took place. I was using kabylkernel on a 10.5.2 kalyway install and had recently updated to 10.5.3 via kalyway combo updater. After rebooting, while running off of the battery, this is the error that i receive. I am going to begin researching this to see what I come up with.
