OS X 10.6.8 in HP Compaq DC7100 CMT

Actually, you might be able to install like lion dp1 on p4 but i dont think it would be worth it. As I stated on a another forum, P4 is a 32 bit chip and Lion DP1 works with CoreDuo Macmini's so if mr Blaggah is ready to use old developer version as his main OS, go and do that. I'm not gonna help him out with that, i have no idea how to even manage to do it on P4... but dp1 lion has both 32 bit kernel and userland. DP2 or newer and there is no 32 bit userland. Also some apps can fail to install on dev versions. You have been warned. -Nuudz
  4. Yo! Long time no seen Got this beast yesterday: Athlon 64 X2 3800+ ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 Mobo 4Gb of Corsair XMS Pro DDR 400MHz RAM (I love those blinking LED's ) ASUS Radeon HD EAH6850 v2 1Gb GDDR5 (Yea, the same card from my old P4 rig) SATA DVD-ROM 2x IDE 160Gb hdd's (The ssd is in my macpro1.1 now) About the mobo: It has both Nvidia and Marvell NIC's, i would like to get them both working. Also it has AC97 audio. Would it be possible to install SL/Lion on this beast? (y) -Nuudz

I'll actually get the 8Gb ram and new gpu before Hackintoshing it. I just want QE/CI for obious reasons. Also my MacBook is dead now, but my Mac Pro will handle the stuff.
  8. Stuff you need: - Mac Pro (Of course...) - Windows PC with 64bit CPU and SATA - Windows 8.1 Pro (Just for dual CPU support, if installed on something like "07 MacBook, normal Windows 8.1 is enough) - A lot of patience. 1. Partition a part of your HDD to MS-DOS (FAT) 2. Shut down your Mac 3. Connect the HDD to PC 4. Boot from DVD or USB using the PC, without internet connection. 5. Shut the PC down, when it reboots the first time. 6. Plug the HDD to Mac Pro. 7. Boot from Windows partition 8. Let the setup finish. 9. Congratulations! You just have installed Windows 8.1 64bit on a mac, which apple says, that latest Windows possible is 32-bit Vista You have to do the install with the PC, because boot from 64-bit Windows DVD doesn't work with 32-bit EFI. Hope this helps someone. Nuutti

If you really want a DC7100 Cmt motherboard, here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-DC7100-CMT-Motherboard-365865-001-775-P4-3-00GHz-/200507994015 You should still buy a DC7700 mobo and new gpu because then you have core2duo support. What about my windows install?

OS X 10.6.8 in HP Compaq DC7100 CMT

Well well well... I got rid of DC7100 and P4Hack666.69. I bought a Mac Pro 2007 at tuesday with these specs: 2x Dual Core Intel Xeon 2.66GHz ATI x1900 512Mb GPU 4Gb DDR2-667 FB-DIMM 1Tb Seagate Barracuda (one from DC7100) (OSX drive) 1Tb WD Caviar Green (Windows drive) 250Gb Seagate Barracuda (stock) (Buffer drive) IDE SuperDrive SATA SuperDrive (Was a pain in the butt to install, works well...) OS X Lion 10.7.5 Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 x64 (Was also a pain in the butt to install, but it actually works ) Thanks for everybody, who had helped me with my P4 setups, long life OSx86, Dell Latitude D430 Hackintosh is still in use (edit. TheNuuttti8/16082014 DC7700 is now in active use as my linux box, gonna get 8gb ram and new gpu and then...)

    Another P4 System

AsRock 775VM800/M/ASR motherboard P4 Prescott LGA 775 Radeon 9600 AGP 2x IDE 160Gb HDD Any possiblities on SL with this rig? Which kext I'll have to use? Nuutti

    lion on pentium 4

I have exactly same CPU. Snow Leopard is as new as you can go... Even if you have good GPU, its only SL. You need to get a new GPU like ASUS EAH6850 DirectCU v2 Dual Power connector like mine or something simular. Also 10.6 is better for real macs too... I hate Lion. Maverics is usable but not good for our Pentium IV´s, it needs 64 bit and P4 Prescott is a 32-bit cpu. Also Nawcom legacy kernel is needed.
