1. Does anyone know when Apple will stop releasing Security Updates for OS X 10.7 (Latest 10.7.5 of course)? I've just setup an 2007 Macbook for a friend and 10.7 was the latest release I could put on there without hacking the OS. In my quick google searches, different terms, I couldn't find anything that pointed to a date for when OS X Lion would stop receiving security updates. The only hits were for Snow Leopard, one idiot blogger, and the WOW forum - nothing looking Apple official. Here is the latest security update from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6207
2. Are you booting as EFI or BIOS? If using BIOS, u will want to boot into ##### or some Chameleon variant first and use some boot flags, which ones I am exactly unsure of.

Can you load a Linux Live CD and run the 'lspci -v' command to see if the graphics GPU is detected as a PCIe device?
4. Ok, so I was able to get my GTX 465 converted into a Quadro 4000. To test that everything was still working, I passed the card through to my Windows VM and Installed the Quadro Drivers. Everything worked as expected and played some Crysis 2 - both DVI and mini HDMI ports pass video successfully. Prior to this, I had installed the NVIDIA VIBs onto the ESXi host. However, when passing through my OSX Mavericks VM, the card is recognized but no video connection is detected, and nothing will appear on my monitor. I have also installed the latest Quadro Drivers from NVIDIA and have tried using both default and NVIDIA drivers on boot, neither will pass video to my monitor. Has anyone else been able to get their Quadro Cards working in an OS X VM? The reason I chose to do a quadro 4000, is to get as close to possible as a Quadro 4000 for Mac. I can if need be, setup the card as a Quadro 5000 or 6000. I would have my GTX 465 stock, however it won't work with PCIe Passthrough. Any help will be appreciated. Also, at the moment, I cannot use DSDTs as I cannot get a third party EFI boot loader to work, such as chameleon or clover.

ESXI and OSX Bootloaders

iFire, I have been unable to get my OS X VM to reognize Chameleon or Clover on boot up. When I load Chameleon to USB, boot off to it via passthrough, it loads initially - but only give me one possible selection, which is itself. It doesn't seem to scan the attached drives which the EFI bios was aware of. Any thoughts? Maybe I can install something like Clover or rEFI onto another VMDK?
6. I figured it out, please see my follow up post at: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/489965/cuda-programming-and-performance/gtx480-to-c2050-hack-or-unlocking-tcc-mode-on-geforce/5/
7. Has anyone had experience doing this? I've followed the posts that I could find on different forums, but have had no luck. I believe i'm on the correct track though. Would anyone be willing to work with me on this? Here are my notes, which I coped and pasted from another forum, though i'm not sure my post is actually visible without logging in, or even posted correctly there: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/489965/cuda-programming-and-performance/gtx480-to-c2050-hack-or-unlocking-tcc-mode-on-geforce/5/ root@XUbuntu:~/Downloads$ od -tx -Ax 465STK.ROM | grep -E '^0000(5|6)0' 000050 002a72e9 14673842 6ffc03ff 00005000 000060 7ff1ffff 80020000 95a538e1 e9445ee9 Above I used the ROM I pulled off my card, though this ROM from TechPowerUp is identical as far as I can tell: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/133940/evga-gtx465-1024-100729.html Here are the MASKS for my GTX 465 and Quadro 4000: Card DevID AND mask 0 OR mask 0 AND mask 1 OR mask 1 EVGA265 06C4 0x6FFC03FF 0x00005000 0x7FF1FFFF 0x80020000 Quadro4K 06DD 0x7FFC3FFF 0x00004000 0x7FF1FFFF 0x80020000 Here is my conversion based on the Device ID: GTX465 06C4 0000 0110 1100 0100 Quadro 4000 06DD 0000 0110 1101 1101 Change xxxx xxxx xxx1 1xx1 xxxx xxxx xxx4 3210 ID Bit: 4 32 10 Strap: -xxA xxxx xxxx xxxx xxAx xAxx xxxx xxxx Old Strap: AND-0: 6F FC 03 FF 0110 1111 1111 1100 0000 0011 1111 1111 OR-0: 00 00 50 00 0000 0000 0000 0000 0101 0000 0000 0000 New Strap: AND-0: 7F FC 27 FF 0111 1111 1111 1100 0010 0111 1111 1111 OR-0: 10 00 74 00 0001 0000 0000 0000 0111 0100 0000 0000 With the above work, I've come away with these two potential combinations, but both error out: Calculated AND 0 and OR 0: nvflash --straps 0x7FFC27FF 0x10007400 0x7FF1FFFF 0x80020000 With original AND 0: nvflash --straps 0x6FFC03FF 0x10007400 0x7FF1FFFF 0x80020000 This is the errors I receive "Error: Strap values out of range":
8. Are there any ESXi Logs that I should look at specifically? I went ahead and upgraded to the latest 5.5 build per your suggestion - and... it worked! I find it strange that I was able to get an install on vanilla 5.1u1, but oh well! Just updating now. Though, the only thing I tried differently was changing the Hard Disk from SCSI to IDE. Also noticed the full extent of the Topic of this thread, sorry to bring ESXi into it :-/
9. I ran the uninstall.sh for Unlocker120, rebooted, and ran install.sh, and then rebooted. I started up my OS X 10.9 Image, and it doesn't to boot. I will attempt to create a new 10.8 image and maybe that will work. Are there any logs specifically i should look at? I still get a spinning Rainbow Wheel and Grey Screen... I had followed this page to create my image: techiezone.rottigni.net/2013/11/installing-mavericks-on-esxi-5-1/
10. So I installed 5.1u1 and was able to get into the OS X installer and deploy the image. But after updating build 5.1u2 via command line and then to the latest 5.1 build 1612806, I have been unable to enter the OS X installer on either build. Have you all had issues with this? I've rerun unlocked and still cannot get it to work - I get a spinning rainbow wheel. I think I might go back to 5.1u1 or maybe even deploy a 5.1u1 nested VM and then deploy OSX from there.

ESXI and OSX Bootloaders

I've tried to boot the VM using legacy Bios, but when I point the VM to the Clover ISO it just shows 5 lines, the last one mentioning the CDROM. When I boot using EFi, and install Clover, it appears that Clover is completely ignored upon starting the VM.

Well ESXi and it's virtual EFI? Or do I just boot the VM as a Linux guest?

Will look into the Clover bootloader, will it work with ESXi though?
14. So far, I have been unable to get Chameleon or any other bootloaders to load when I start or reboot my OS X VM. The only reason I am interested in using a seperate bootloader is so I can pass agruments for specefic FrameBuffer Personalities with my VT-d passthrough AMD Radeon gpu - also from my research, having a bootloader like Chameleon will allow me to get HDMI audio working. Any thoughts?
