Create a dmg image with "Disk Utility".

He did a upgrade from Tiger... and upgrades are not supported in the developer builds. So I guess that is the source of his problems.

Works fine except that when I boot the screen gets all distorted. Then I change the refresh rate in Preferences (I can't read anything but a little guesswork does it) and then it is all fine. I just found out that my brother was copying a lot of large files over the LAN from my computer when this happened.

Could you please check if there is color banding with your driver thru DVI as explained in this thread -> http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=13107&hl= this is a serious issue. thank you
