1. Thanks falanx, but Ozmosis is also for UEFI, right? I'll try getting all my kexts and install them after work, I sign when there is something new!
2. Hello guys! Lately I was once again trying to get OS X running on my PC (specs below), last Night I cleaned up the whole drive and installed on my SSD Windows 8.1 (should be kept for gaming and such). Now I'd like to install on a 500GB Drive my OS X, which worked successfully using MyHack. But after the Installation I couldn't boot up without using -x, nor I couldn't boot using the "build-in"-bootloader that comes with Ozmosis. I heard there is some new boot loader, that also allows you to use bootcamp and such, called Clover? I was following the Tutorial of the official Clover site, but it didn't worked. It just won't boot, nor show me anything at all. Since I do not own, a real Mac (nor another Hackingtosh) I am limited with using the iMac at work. (Mavericks) and I wanna get the things prepared, in case something doesn't work. So my main Question basically is: Can I setup an normal OS X Installer using myHack (including the myHack's boot loaders) on an 8GB Pen drive, and Clover (Only Clover!) on an 4GB Pen Drive, in case the myHack one won't work, or I can boot the Hardrive-OS X with Clover after the Installation? If so, on what I should look for? Clover is still pretty new to me, so it'll also be really appreciated if somebody can give me a bit more explanation, or research links to read. Greetings, Max. Specs: Gigabyte Z77-D3H (rev. 1.0) Intel i7 @ 3.90GHz Nvidia GTX660 - the rest is unimportant - I posted in the wrong section, right?
3. Hello, I'd like to 'clone' my current OS on a different PC. I would do a usual Installation and then just C&P the old Users and Settings, that should work, doesn't it? As far as I'm aware of, the following folders should be Copied: Applications/* Users/* Library/* That's all, or do I miss something? Of course, the astericks means all subfiles and subfolders from the root-directory. Greetzs Max
4. This can could get funny... So I got a old Sharkoon Tactix from my Windows PC and I want to use it for gaming in OSX. But the Layout is totally off, for example if I want to type: "My frkn keyboard isn't working!" the following comes out: "T7mzruRl7ivhzkpyuv14vzrpun(" I really don't know why it's doing that, this also kinda creeps me. :s Somebody got a idea?
5. First things first, I won't tell you everything how I've done it, because I'm to stupid for it! Anyways, let's start that I do an educational training right now and we're working with iMac's, someday it annoyed me to work 5 days with a Mac and 2 days with a PC. So I decided to make a Hackingtosh Build. Today I want to give you my thoughts about my Build, what kext's I've used and of course, the world's most important advice, what isn't working. (Or at least I couldn't get to work, because I don't care about that one) (And I really like pixel art btw.) MoBo — Gigabyte Z77-D3H CPU — Intel i7 3770 @ 3.4GHz GPU — EVGA Nvidia GTX660 3GB RAM — 2x Kingston 99U5471 4GB each HDD — 1x Samsung 1TB SATA; 2x Server Drives with 120GB each (unknown and dead german company) DVD-Drive — Samsung (who wants to know that {censored}, I don't) Power supply — 1000 Watts (same company as the HDD's, I own this PS for ages now , doesn't fit properly in the case tho... ) Case — NZXT source 210, white, as a Hackingtosh should be! Hot pics of are attached below Photos.zip dcai777 – for the buying advice and OS Setup Laberlohe – for the CPU compatibility buying advice keiner99 – for the Gigabyte MoBo recommendation and informing me about the Ozmosis Bios (Flashing the Bios was really easy btw.) *will be done when I'm home * Overall view ( no sexy pixel art picture of that Title D: ) It was worth buying thoose parts, in the future I'll be buying a SSD and 3 Monitors too, but right now it's ok. What does not work? USB WiFi was a pain to get working and after tons of kexts installing and removing I've found a working one. But I still getting disconnected sometimes for no reason. Sadly that you cannot use the internal GPU with the PCI one, even tho it's set in UEF. In any Linux distro that works. The Reason for the 3 new monitors are basicly that the current one's are too old and not the same inch size, in fact, they're still VGA Monitors. But the other Reason is, that the EVGA Card only has one DVI-I connector that can be converted to VGA, DVI-D isn't possible to VGA and HDMI to VGA is first dumb and second of all, not that cheap. What I'm happy with. Everything is really smooth, couldn't play any games but cinebench told me that it should be good. Also if anyone wants to know this, Minecraft with Ultra shaders works fine. (That was the only game that I could download quickly) And that's the thing why I like Unix, it can't crash and/or slow down you're PC after having it for like 3 years. If a Applications isn't responding, just force it to close, not like windows to wait for everything. I've compared the PC at work ( iMac8,1 ) and mine with some CPU/RAM/GPU intensive Apps like SublimeText (while running a python code to generate a file with 500k empty lines with a delay of 1000ms) After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Blender, Parallels and Chrome (80+ Tabs opened), the iMac clearly lost, but I was amazed that mine didn't even slow down, I even had 20% CPU free to use! So that's that - I guess, have a good day, dcai777 forced me to do this, it hurt me. My name is max by the way..
6. WiFi kexts needed

Gaaawd, this doesn't work either :/
7. WiFi kexts needed

Sadly, they don't work, same as the belkin stick. I can install the drivers but I don't have a 'USB Ethernet' profile, neither does the wlan USB utility work, the dock tells me that it doesn't response.
8. WiFi kexts needed

So I make this short because I'm with my phone online. My installation is done properly without any errors, now I'm searching the proper kexta to my PC, but the biggest problem for now is getting internet working. Lan won't work and isn't a good thing because my router is to far away I have a tp-link TL WN721N WiFi stick and a belkin F7D1101. I've found a belkin kext for 10.6 which isn't working so yea... Hope that you guys have some good sources, I don't wanna but a third WiFi stick :/ Greetz max
9. So this text will be very short, because I just came from Work and I already wrote this like 5 times. I always press alt+<arrow key left>, trying to select the whole line, but in windows, you go back in the Browser History with that. Also, I tryed to make a discussion at a better known Forum in my Language but as it turns out, they hate insanelymac and s**k huge a** b**ls if you're even telling them that you're community helped me getting all my parts. ANYWAYS! Let's get to the main problem. So I successfully installed Ozmosis on my Motherboard without any kexts specified to my Motherboard parts I installed on it. I am left here with a Retail Copy of OS X Tiger and a USB Drive with Mavericks installed on (I've used ##### (I know, I know..)). I can only get on a real mac in 3 days. And the Installer won't load at all. I am stuck many errors I don't understand, so I'll just upload them all to my dropbox and you can look at them all at once. Thoose are the Parts I got: MoBo Gigabyte Z77-D3H (Ozmosis F21) CPU Intel i7 1337 LGA1155 Graphics Card EVGA GTX660 RAM 2x KIngston 4GB HDDs 2x 160GB; 1x 1TB HDD installed with Windows 7, already partitioned to 250GB, the rest will be OSX + Backup files/games etc. that-that's pretty much it. I have no clue what I can do about it, Google isn't helping me much and the dark-net is far away from me ^.^ I also removed the Graphics Card because I've heared it'll be easyer due to the fact that the drivers aren't installed properly yet. If I made a type error, let me know I want to make my english as good as possible. Grettings, Max. Dropbox pics
10. So some did past and I decided to buy the following parts: Intel Core i7-3770 EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Sockel 1155 NZXT Source 210 Elite Midi-Tower PC Later on I'll buy a SSD too, but now I'll just gonna use my 1TB SATA from Wester Digital.

12. Nana, I'm not going to overclock it. Kinda useless and a bit dangerous in my opinion.
13. Thanks dcai777. I can just hope It'll be worth the work! ;s
14. Good day everyone! Since we're working at work with, like original ass expensive imacs, I thought I want to get a hackintosh so I dont have to habit of my new habits (I dont think that was proper english, doesn't it?) every week from windows to mac again. So I already posted a thread in the german section, but I think I'll get more recommendations and informations from the english Forum. I also extended my buying list, I would really appreciating it, if someone could take a deep look at it, so here it is: MoBos: ASUS M5A78L-M/usb3 (would like to use that, since I already have it, if possible) Asus P8Q67-M GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H LGA MSI 7758-080R Mainboard Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H CPUs: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge 3770 3.4GHz I wanted to buy a Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 but people already told me it should have bad support Graphic Cards: EVGA 03G-P4-2664-KR GeForce GTX 660 3GB ASUS R9280X-DC2-3GD5 I would like one for like "casual-games" SSDs(Does this even matter? I mean like I still want to install my Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB SATA one **not a SSD**): Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB Samsung 840 Series 120GB Crucial CT240M500SSD1 240GB And what about CPU cooler? I never needed to look this up, because I always was going to my friends Company telling him what I need and he made me a cheap set for it. All of that should fit into the NZXT Source 210 S210-001 ATX Mid Case. As I said, I would really really appreciating it, if somebody could take a deep look at it. Because I dont have any clue about hackingtosh for what compatible is and what not. All I know is that is almost no CPU from AMD is supported. And I have a AMD. :c Somebody also got a indev article/howto about the install process? Except for the installer just next, next, install, format as Mac OS Journaled thingy, done(!). Have a good night! (if it even is night for you) Max

LG Max
