  1. HP/Compaq WIFI Error 104 (whitelist)

Hello, If you are still having a problem booting your laptop, there is a way to flash the old BIOS back using a USB memory: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/How-to-use-the-HP-BIOS-update-uefi-utility/td-p/337347/page/18 (It's the second posting from the bottom). I have not tried this myself so I cannot vauch, but I recently flashed my HP Mini 110-3500 with a mod BIOS to remove HP whitelist. I searched for a contingency plan for a worst case - which happily did not happen https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP-Disabled-Whitelist-Mega-Thread This is an old inactive thread, but it might give you some hint about mod BIOS. This is where I found a mod BIOS based on InsydeH2O F23 for my HP.
  2. I got banned on tonyMacx86, what do I do?

At least I made a point to order Snow Leo 10.6.3 DVD directly from Apple Store for clean conciousness p.s. I also discovered I.M. after got banned @TM, apparently it is against their policy to mention Linux in one's signature. I started to wonder if they think Linux is a forbidden mod distro of some sort
  3. I think the easiest way to multipleboot with Windows is thru EasyBCD. I have been usung my other Windows/Linux dualboot machine that way with legacy boot. But accordin to https://neosmart.net/wiki/easybcd/system-requirements/ it claims to be EFI compatible.
  4. Installing Sierra in VMWare Workstation 10

I finally finised comparing the three latest versins of Mac (10.10 - 10.12) OSs on the VMWare Player on Linux. I am happy to report, that with the latest Darwin.iso, Sierra runs best! Even the pinch and zoom now works on the track pad (Windows VM cannot). That's what I like about Apple. They are making improvement for each OS version up - different from you know who BTW, since there are no options for 10.12 profile in the VMware , I used 10.11. Absolutely no ill effect. Everything worked exactly as theys hould.
  5. Did you check the BIOS Boot Menu? Sometimes installer can make changes to the EFI BIOS. Chech if CMS is set to Disabled (Auto also works but less stable) and OS Type is set to Other OS, not Windows.

  8. I am afraid that chipset is not spupported in OSX. You can either use USB WiFi (approx $10) of replace mini PCIe card (also approx $10) in your laptop. If you can open your laptop without void warranty, card replacement is a better and more elegant solution. I replaced it a couple of times for Acer and HP laptops. It is not that hard.
  9. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305426-no-hard-drive-detected/ posting #8 might help you.
  10. This morning I saw something unbelievable. Someone is selling Hackintosh which is exactly the same model as mine. I created this Hackintosh myself following the RehabMan's instruction. The first thing I did was to check the date of the articles to make sure it is not an April Fool joke. HackBook Elite https://hackbook.co/ Hackintosh : Le HackBook Elite fonctionne sur OS X pour moins de 350 $ http://www.macg.co/materiel/2016/09/hackintosh-le-hackbook-elite-fonctionne-sur-os-x-pour-moins-de-350-95621 Upgradeable HackBook Elite Mac OS X Laptop http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/upgradeable%C3%A5hackbook-elite-mac-os-x-laptop-30-08-2016/ I would not be surprised if this product contains RehabMan's codes in it. I am strongly against this kind of commercial spin-off It is a disgrace of the Hackintosh community - it gives us a bad name and social image
  11. InsanelyRepairPermission

i finally figured it out how to use it! Coming from Linux, I tired to manually type a path to this executable file. Was not easy . Then I thought of dragging it inside the terminal just like many other Mac software. It worked like a magic! I managed to fix iMesssage problem with the help of this prgramme. Thank you!
  12. Next Apple OS will be for ARM CPUs!

Finally, Hackintosh comes to Raspberry Pi ?! OK, it has been already done! http://www.macrumors.com/2013/08/28/13-scale-classic-macintosh-made-with-raspberry-pi/ 1/3 Scale Classic Macintosh Made With Raspberry Pi
  13. Sierra on Acer Aspire 5750?

Thanks for this additional info. This saves me a lot of time for researching . While I builed about a dozen of desktop PCs in the past, my knowledge of mobile computer is rather limited.
  14. Sierra on Acer Aspire 5750?

Thank you for your quick reply. I saw your CPU has Intel HD Graphics only: http://ark.intel.com/products/43537/Intel-Core-i5-430M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_26-GHz If this works, surely mine should work. Could you tell me which SMBIOS you used? I am not so sure if I should use MacBook 6,2 or later version of MacBook Pro.
  15. Sierra on Acer Aspire 5750?

I recently replaced CPU in Acer Aspire 5349 (Celeron) and 5749Z (Pentium) by Core i-5 2540M (Sandybridge). This effectively converted them into Aspire 5750 since M/B is identical for all of them. I was able to install Yosemite and Sierra inside of unlocked VMWare on Linux host. Apart from some sound glitches, they work fine for a few basic tasks. I am now wondering if it is possible to install Sierra directly on these Aspire 5750. I saw many sites talking about installing OSX on Aspire 5750G after flashing its BIOS to enable EFI boot. The single major difference between 5750 and 5750G is the presence of dedicated graphics chipset on 5750G. 5750G has NVIDIA GeForce GT540M/520M whereas 5750 has integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 only. Because of this difference, I do not think I can flash my 5750 BIOS with 5750G BIOS. That means I can only use legacy BIOS on this machine. I saw some people managed to install old version of OSX on Aspire 5750 but the postings were back from 2011. In theory, this CPU and graphics should be able to take Sierra, but I could be wrong. Is there anyone who installed anything later than 10.9 on Aspire 5750? If so, what did you use as a boorloader?
