  1. This is an HP OEM board G43 chipset , I had Downloaded 3 Distros, Ideneb 10.5.8 Lite, iPC 10.5.6 and iATKOS 10.5.7. Ideneb installs perfectly with no switches involved, once installed I booted with -v and get stuck in using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers. Tried alot of combinations re-install after re-install and nothing. The other two distros, needed the CPUS=1 to install, and it boots normally after install as long as I use the cpus=1 switch. I tried searching through the forums but I couldn't really find an answer regarding this motherboard. Is there some kind of bios mod or anything that could help? Here's a link to its specifications if it helps. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...220&lang=pt Thanks in advance
  2. I understand that, of course theres alot to be done before we can compare. But is it enough to justify from using azalia based soundcard quality?? (Onboard Sound). Of course I shouldnt expect something huge, the fact there is support for audigy cards is appreciated, I just wanted to get more details on the sound itself rather than whats not working (which is expected). I'm sure theres bugs, thats okay though. Alpha is alpha P.S thanks lama for the updates and everything, very helpful , but not so patient according to driverheaven
  3. so no one is talking about sound quality itself? how does it stack up to its windows counterpart?
  4. newbmac, audio midi panel is located in the utilities folder, from the finder, click on go and look for utilities . The utilites folder is also located also in the applications folder
  5. eugene, I would just want to say, Thank You. You did this with your spare time, and delivered. Donations maybe? haha I'll be sure to post bugs AFTER you had your vacation lol. Enjoy it, I don't have osx86 installed, due to the lack of sound. But will give these a go. I hope you enjoy your vacation. Thanks again P.S To Eugene, or those who will try out the drivers, before I get home and re-install leopard. Is core audio functional?
  6. Regarding Soundmax AD1988

I'm having a little issue with the sound, it really seems mono rather than stereo, i know its onboard and a hackintosh im using kalyway's 10.5.2 release by the way. I was wondering if there is an equalizer or something in the os that can help the sound be more crisper and clear. I know on my windows partition its alot better in quality, but not compared to my audigy 4 So is there some updated kext that may help? or anything to help improve overall quality? If this helps at all, the Motherboard is a P5B-VM , it uses the same soundchip as a the vanilla P5B. Thanks in advance.
