  1. Hello.Back in 2012 I delved into my first Hackintosh. Since then it has been running mostly flawlessly through many updates. This is my current setup.GA-Z87X-UD5 THNVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4095 MB (SC)Corsair VengeanceLP - 16 GB 1600 DDR3 Ram3.5 GHz Intel Core i7 (OC to 4.3 GHz)Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD (OS X - High Sierra)Samsung Evo 840 500GB SSD (Windows 10)SanDisk 120 GB (Storage)SanDisk 120 GB (Storage)Seagate Barracuda 4 TB HDD...I am a graphic designer and gamer. I would like to upgrade the Mobo, RAM, CPU, and GPU so that I can continue being productive in my work and take my gaming experience to the next level.I am a bit unsure how to plan ahead for OS X Mojave, while assuring my gaming experience is awesome. I am not really concerned with what hardware I get except that I am familiar with Gigabyte motherboards and I would like to go with a GTX 1080 Ti GPU.What I was thinking was something like...Core i7-8700K ProcessorGigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming WiFi - Or some similar product that would be awesomeBallistix Sport LT 16GB KitAny advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Ok. So after a bit of testing. The Wifi seems to be working well after waking. What I did was uncheck, "Wake for network access" under "Power Savings." I'm not sure however that it is working or just appears to be working. Dropbox still takes up to 5 minutes to connect after wake, so something probably isn't right.
  3. I think I solved the Adobe issue. I had to add the EmuVariableUefi driver in Clover. Reboot. This allowed me to install Adobe CS6. I suspect it had something to do with the NVRAM not working correctly due to that missing. The last thing was to instal Java: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US Everything seems to be working now. I will update if any issues arise. Now just have to keep testing/working on the Wifi
  4. Hey, I've been working on getting a fresh install working with Clover. So far everything has gone smoothly except for a few things. These are most important to me because I require them for work. 1. Before OS X sleeps I am getting 112 mb/s after it wakes I get only 8mb/s. Dropbox also takes a long time to connect. 2. I can't install Adobe CS6. The installation gets to "Installing AdobeHelp" and hangs. It doesnt freeze, but the time left counter goes up and up (it is currently at 81 minutes). If I install just Photoshop it will work perfectly, but Indesign or Illustrator and it tries to install AdobeHelp and hangs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ... Can't Boot Every Few Days (GTX 980/Cache/Permissions)

Thanks Maroder, I tried installing both this one, and the other version. No change. I was just unable to boot again, and this didn't help. In fact it seemed to freeze my PC as soon as I got into OS X (Using Chameleon USB). I ran the Kext utility again, and was able to boot. It definitely seems like an issue with one of the kexts resetting permissions or something. I dunno, but what ever is doing it is annoying me.
  6. Hey All, I have a bit of an issue that is actually starting to make me cranky. Every few days I boot into Windows, or restart my machine and I can't boot into OS X anymore. It gets to the Apple logo, stalls, then I get the Ghostbusters icon. When I got my new GTX 980, the problem started. A user on Reddit suggested I run "Kext Utility" and after it repaired permissions, updated the cache, and whatever other magic it did, I could once again boot into OS X. For a while it worked perfectly, but now, every few days the permissions will get reset, or the cache, or something and I can't boot. The only way to fix it, is to use a chameleon boot USB (None of my Clover USB drives work). Then run the Kext Utility program again, then reboot. This creates an issue because while I can boot into OS X, it sets my system profile to 3,1, thus logging me out of iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc. and screws up my handoff/continuity for about a day or so. It took me long enough to get iMessage working, so having it log out all the time isn't something I really want to fool around with. So, I am hoping someone can help. It is work noting that I have never been able to use any of the Clover options at boot (no cache, etc.) I get a stupid error message, and then nothing. This is the post the reddit user gave me: If anyone has any ideas how to stop this, it would be very much appreciated.

    36mbps until....then 99mbps

A bit more testing. It turns out I get 36mbps on all my devices (iPad, iPhone, PC, PC 2 running Windows). It also happens when I log into Windows on my Hack as well. When I log into the router and change the setting, all my devices see upwards of 70-99mbps. I have no idea what could be causing this to happen across all devices. I really hope my Hack isn't causing issues with the router. I have a service tech coming out on Monday to check it. This is the strangest WiFi issue I've ever had.

    36mbps until....then 99mbps

I did a bit more testing. ... I renewed the DHCP, turned off/on WiFi, Deleted connection and reconnected. None of these worked. If I log into the router and switch on/off "Band Steering" it will instantly jump to 99mbps. So, the setting in the router itself doesn't seem to matter, but something about the act of changing the router setting allows OS X to suddenly free itself of the cap, and run at full speeds.

    36mbps until....then 99mbps

Hey, I have a weird issue that I hope someone can help me solve. I have a 100mbps internet connection, and in Windows I get speeds between 99/105mbps on WiFi. However, after doing a speed test yesterday/today I realized my WiFi in OS X is capping out at 36mbps. If I log into the router and change almost any setting, then the speed will jump up to 99/105 mbps. It will stay like this until restart, or until it wakes from sleep. Any ideas why this might be happening, and how to go about fixing it? Thanks, CLM

Clover: 10.10.2 - Lost Handoff Support

I just wanted to update this. One of the other issues I had been having in addition to the Handoff, was that my Hack would suddenly, and without warning stop booting after a few boots. No explanation, it would just stop. Someone on Reddit suggested I use kext utility as a solution. They had a similar issue and it turned out, according to them, that the Nvidia drivers were failing to cache or something after a while. OS X would simply reject them, leading to the inability to boot. I ran the program and it did its thing....only to have my newly working Hack to not boot. I booted into OS X using my chameleon boot recovery disk (my Clover one never works), and ran the program again. Not only did it fix my boot issue, but it fixed Handoff as well. So, it must have been some permissions error or something on one of the kexts relating to the network card. As of this moment I have a working Hack with Handoff support. So, if you're having issues perhaps try running that software. Good luck

Clover: 10.10.2 - Lost Handoff Support

Someone on Reddit solved their issue by using the following steps: I'm hesitant to do this as I don't really want to change these settings unless I have to. I would just like to know why OS X suddenly thinks the card doesn't support Handoff....especially since other users with the same card had no issues. I suppose the next step is to physically pull the card out, put it back in and see if that fixes it.

Clover: 10.10.2 - Lost Handoff Support

I'm sorry, but... A. I have no idea what you're talking about. B. How this helps. C. Why I would want to disable Nvidia (creating one problem to solve another doesn't seem like a good solution). D. What your video is trying to show me.

Clover: 10.10.2 - Lost Handoff Support

Thanks, I will take a look. What I don't understand is why it was working for OOB before the patch, and now, not. Plus, it doesnt seem to have affected anyone else with the same card.
  14. Hey Everyone, I just updated to 10.10.2, and while everything seems to be working, my bluetooth card has lost functionality. I no longer have handoff support. The card I have is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ABWB-WIFI-Bluetooth-Wireless-PCI-E-Card-For-Apple-Hackintosh-MAC-OS-X-Computer/400795926463?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3Dc0b6864b0ebb495d9d4972bffc1d377c%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D201159402207 Which I believe is BCM94360CD. Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes Handoff Supported: No Instant Hotspot Supported: No Manufacturer: Broadcom Transport: USB Chipset: 20702B0 Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks, CLM

    Clover: 10.10.1 - First Update...What Do I Do?

When running Chameleon, this is considered a big "no, no!" Updating through the app store can completely screw up a stable system. Since I am new to Clover, I am looking for any potential issues that might come from upgrading. I don't want to have it screw up my iMessage, or boot, or whatever. Is there nothing special that needs to be done with Clover? Please excuse my hesitation to upgrade without further confirmation, but it took me a lot of effort to get it working.
