ATI Mobility Radeon 4650 on Sony FW

This seems to be difficult. Good luck! Perhaps you could try the ideas at http://wiki.osx86pro...bles#VGN-NW21ZF and my post summary at http://www.insanelym...-mobility-4650/

    Clover General discussion

Hello, I have installed Clover manually on an USB drive (fat32, no UEFI), but Clover doesn't show up. It stops with an _ (underscore) and nothing happening anymore. The _ doesn't flash which seems to be unusual in comparison to other posts (Brett Whinnen). Chameleon does work by pressing [1] at startup. There is no different result with Clover 32bit (pressing [3]) or Clover 64bit (pressing [6]). 32bit: shows "3" -> "_" 64bit: shows "7" -> "_" Is my assumption correct, that it's not a problem of the boot0 and boot1 headers of the disk (wrong installation), but a problem with Covers 32bit/64bit files (boot3/6). Just guessing, perhaps the EFI files can't be loaded or there is a problem with graphics (x3100)? Can I switch on a on-screen debug log somehow? There are no signs of Clover in the boot-log from ioreg after booting Chameleon. I use the following code (extracted from rc.local) to read my log #!/bin/bash ioreg -lw0 -pIODeviceTree | grep boot-log > ./chameleonLog1.txt logdump=$(cat ./chameleonLog1.txt) modified1=${logdump#*'boot-log'} modified2=${modified1#*'<'} modified3=${modified2%%'>'*} echo $modified3 > ./chameleonLog2.txt xxd -r -p ./chameleonLog2.txt >> chameleonLog3.txt cat chameleonLog3.txt rm chameleonLog*.txt Best regards -edit: seems to be a bug imho, see #834, #191 -edit: To enable debug output, change in CloverGrower-master/src/edk2/Clover/rEFIt_UEFI/Platform/Platform.h //#define DEBUG_ALL 2 to #define DEBUG_ALL 2
  3. Interesting thoughts here. I would also like Tapatalk support.

ATI 4650 Mobility on Sony FW450J/B -- Motmot or Shrike

Have you set GraphicsEnabler=No? Please boot with HDMI and upload the result of this file. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1743851 Also post your ati-personality.pl output. It's a bit strange, because there is normally no HDMI (00 08 at the beginning) at Motmot. output of ati-personality.pl (vanilla 10.7.1): But I think you'll have better results (=getting LVDS working) if you try patching ATIController4600.kext (Shrike, add id to Info.plist) together with ATY_Init.kext (patched to Shrike for 4650). If you don't have a id2 value, you should try each combination. This was already said to you here.
  5. This guy seems to had progress with his Sony VAIO (but different Radeon) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1686688 He also had the "clouds" which moob had mentioned. Next time i'll try changing LVDS from (as kizwan had suggested) 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 12 00 00 00 to: 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 02 01 00 00 Perhaps this will work?! yanghy suggested 02 as Senseid (last block of numbers).

  7. Have you compared it to the other 10.6.7 Sandy Bridge Update?

    UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

@ivik: could you please take a look at my dsdt file? I have a working slider, but it's not smooth. If i put it at 90%, the half of the screen is at 20% and the other one at 60% brightness. Brightness values are displayed in ioreg. In RW Everything, i couldn't determine any register for brightness in ED. edit: fixed it by patching by patching AppleIntelGMAX3100FB

Thanks! I've attached kextstat, kernel log and ioreg output. LPC is loaded in kextstat, but there are errors in kernel log. I have the feeling, that the CPU fan is running more often than with VoodooPowerMini.kext. The clock isn't reduced without it. I've attached two screenshots. #1 is without VoodooPowerMini, #2 is with VoodooPowerMini.

Thanks again! I've just read, that the Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA doesn't support C-States. I renamed some devices (TIMR, MATH) and added HDAU for ATI HDMI Audio to the fixed dsdt, . I think it's working great with your edits! dsdt.4coredual_fixed.zip

    UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

@ivik: Can you please fix my DSDT (T61, Intel X3100)? I have a brightness slider, but it's uneven. I thnk the brightness settings are in BRTB, but i don't know how to add them to PNLF. I don't have _BCM, etc. I get this error 17.04.11 12:05:20 kernel IG: Invalid firmware max backlight setting edit: fixed it by patching by patching AppleIntelGMAX3100FB T61_dsdt_fixed.aml.zip

@MaLd0n: Could you please also fix my Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA's dsdt file? Sleep doesn't work (doesn't wakeup) and also Audio is not recognized (both AZAL and HDAC in one DSDT?)
