  1. Hi, Weird permissions issue that's beginning to bother me. I have uTorrent set up to download and save to an external drive which works well. But if I open a magnet link I get a permissions error when trying to write to the same drive. So I have to initiate the magnet link to save to my home drive (Macintosh HD) and then change the torrent's download location by right clicking on it. On the same external drive I am trying to move my sync folder for a cloud account from my home drive and again I get a 'cannot write to /volumes/torrents' error message. I can manually access all my external drives and manually copy and delete folders which is weird. I have checked permissions and when necessary added rights to R&W for myself. It is obviously a permissions issue but what? Driving me mad if anyone can help? In essence what seems to be happening is that directory /Volumes is not permitting certain types of saves and I can't figure out why!
  2. Hey Rico, You seem to know a bit about these issues and was wondering if you could help me? Using a Radeon R9 280X in High Sierra with only one monitor working. The second one is getting a signal but displaying only a black screen. Both worked flawlessly in previous versions of OSX. I've been working at this for months with no joy and followed the steps above too. When I replace the aforementioned kexts with the Sierra versions my one working monitor defaults to what could be said is a VGA display with weird colours. I agree with your logic that it's a kext issue and therefore by replacing the kexts that worked in Sierra they should also work in High Sierra but that isn't the case for me. It has me wondering if the 3000 kexts are the correct versions for HS? Any further input? Thanks **EDIT** I am convinced it's the DVI that's broken under High Sierra. Dual monitors still works OK in Ubuntu and Windows 10 so it isn't a hardware issue. Definitely software related. System Prefs picks up both monitors (See image) https://imgur.com/a/qylUp **EDIT2** I was right DVI was not set up correctly. I had to edit a kext file adding frame buffer settings. All sorted now

    Dual Monitor Setup Not Working

Hey guys, Successful upgrade to HS bar a minor issue and that is that I can't have dual monitors running as I did with Sierra. I can only have one monitor connected at a time. If I connect the second monitor when the first is working fine the first monitor switches to display the second desktop and the second monitor just displays a black screen. When I disconnect the second monitor the first monitor reverts to displaying the main desktop. Hope that makes sense. It's a weird one. Prob should have noted that I am using a AMD Radeon 7 Series card with HDMI & DVI connections. Worked flawlessly in previous versions of OSX Any ideas?
  4. Hey guys, Been trying to ascertain if anyone has managed to get WIFI GO or Bluetooth working on this board? From my reading it appears they aren't supported on Hackintosh but just wanted to ask here to be sure.

  6. Hey guys, I just bought a IOGear GBU521 which was said to work under 10.8 but I can't get it to see my Apple wireless keyboard and Magic Pad. The old BT device I have recognizes them both but it has issues. With the Trackpad I get the freeze when I use 3 or 4 finger swipe which lasts around 10 seconds and with the keyboard I am getting a delay from pressing keys to seeing them appear on the screen and some other weirdness. Is there something that I am missing? Not doing? Or Doing wrong? Has anyone managed to bet BT working with this mobo? Thanks

    Introduce yourself.

Hey up people! Just signed up and reasonably new to the Hackintosh scene (4 weeks roughly). I hope to pick at your brains and knowledge as I enter a new world of Apple Mac and specifically Mac OS on a PC! Thanks for having me.
  8. Sorry to revive an old thread but it makes more sense rather than starting a new one as my issues are the same as the OP. iFire, can you confirm if this BT device still works under Mavericks? I just bought a IOGear GBU521 which was said to work under 10.8 but I can't get it to see my Apple wireless keyboard and Magic Pad. The old BT device I have recognizes them both but it has issues. I would appreciate it if you could update me as your information could prove invaluable for me! Thanks
