1. 10.10 Yosemite and HoRNDIS - Panic

Too bad no one helps in this forum. Lalo1996 - I never figured out a solution. I just bared with it for a while. I just bought (from my local Fry's Electronics) the TP-Link WDN4800 PCI-E Card. worked OOB with Yosemite 10.10. I was on dp5 when i installed the card and am on current dp8. Works as a stock mac airport card. connection is great. I definitely recommend it. at $40 the price is pretty typical for WiFi cards. I know this doesnt help laptop users, but a simple google search will find you something compatible. Shame i cant think of a use for my old galaxy s2 now! haha. This is all.
2. Help Ive had successful hackintosh builds since Mountain Lion. Ive had Mavericks. Now im running Yosemite DP2 (Installed DP1 w/ 1.0 update from app store) My problem is Ive always used a spare rooted/rom android phone (no added software to Mac/Android needed) as my WiFi Tether and its worked fantastic. Now its a craps shoot. I'd say 50% of the time it freezes and reboots. Itll show the Kernel Panic if i boot verbose but its so quick i never can read it. If i boot the computer with the phone unplugged. plug it in, turn on tether it works mostly, but if the computer goes to sleep and i turn it back on after it wakes up it will panic if i turn on tether. if i boot up with it plugged in it might panic. Everything about it is random. I feel like ive developed a pretty great understanding of building hackintosh and editing things, but im not great. I am posting this on HoRNDIS' website, but i cant be the only one with this problem. Hoping someone with more knowledge can help. I did NOT use any Tony OS X Tools on this build. i3 2100 - ATI HD6850 - ALC889 Used KextWizard to install Kexts - current FakeSMC, AppleHDA, HDAEnabler1 (Ive had it functioning off of DSDT in Mavericks, but Ive only had success with Enabler. probably user error. but i dont really mind. All audio ports work @ 96khz) DPCI Manager to create DSDT.aml Any help is appreciated. If Im missing needed info lmk. Thank you
3. Booted in Yosemite. All is well. When i fresh boot into Yosemite after install i get kernel panics when doing specific things. First boot HDMI audio/video works making me think all is well. Installing my AppleHDA/Enabler1 from my Mavericks in S/L/E fixed my refusing several HDA kexts... I was having problems having Clover load my DSDT. So i used HDAEnabler1 to inject the kext. All is fantastic. Im sure theres better/different ways than my method. but everything works great and i dont generally get any help when i post. Some notes from MY install: -Follow instructions in first post. -When installing Clover choose customize and under -Bootloader - Installboot0ss in MBR (Booting on BIOS motherboards only.) -Total of 4 kexts total I use - FakeSMC, AppleHDA, HDAEnabler1, and Horndis for Wifi USB tether with an old Galaxy S2 -Initial boot FakeSMC only. Clover was NOT injecting my AppleHDA in kexts folder. Refused on startup in verbose. -Install Kexts with KEXT WIZARD only. Repair Permissions. after my install i would boot my Mavericks drive up and copy everything necessary-then 1st boot Yosemite -3rdPartySATA and IOHCIBlockStorageInjector Dont Help. If i loaded them it caused a lot of missing icons and removing the kexts and repairing did not fix it. Reinstall did. -If you mess around a little or just dont have the right mix you can get yourself stuck at boot (as pictured in later post "invalid signatures"). I installed 3 times before i got my own method down. -Also, I feel Yosemite is a little harder on me on booting up with a bunch of USB devices plugged in. While its happened with USB drives. leaving my phone "modem" plugged in on boot results in panic-restart before it gets to login The HDAEnabler1 and AppleHDA can be found with a simple Google search "Yosemite 10.10 AppleHDA" THANK YOU SNATCH FOR THIS AWESOME TUTORIAL!!!
4. Hello. I was able to install Yosemite following the instructions in the first post. One thing (thats probably common sense to most) that i was stuck on was installing the right boot0 for my BIOS (not UEFI). In Clover install - Customize - Bootloader you have 3 options. depending on which version you are running it is the 2nd or 3rd option. It will say in the description FOR BIOS BOOTING. Anyways.. passed that. My problem I'm having now is Yosemite crashes constanty. sometimes so fast it won't show the Kernel Panic. It mostly happens if i copy any file. Everytime i change my app store settings to install any app... any time i install anything... Kernel Panic. Its so quick I think i saw an iokit... maybe appleHDAcontroller as part of panics. I felt like it didn't do it the first install. Im about to re-do my USB Installer and start fresh again. It takes so long though! I have a Mavericks partition I'm on now that works fine. Tried various combinations of the kexts i need for Mavericks. Idk if I'm missing something About my system i3 3.09 (2200? - been a while) Gigabyte motherboard - h61m-d2p-B3 4 GB Ram ATI HD6850 (Works perfect in Yosemite, HDMI+Audio - No kexts needed) ALC889 (Works 100% in Mavericks, could not get working in Yosemite) MBR patch installed Hope i didn't forget anything. Help is much appreciated! Thanks. - To install only needed my DSDT - FakeSMC - kext-dev-1 - Had to boot Verbose mode first time boot of install/OS
5. I just finished Mavericks GM install (already had success with 10.8.5) pretty much worked with all my ML kexts. didn't have the white screen on installer boot with my HD 6850. Went very smooth. If anyone could point me in the right direction with a few things that would be great. If anyone has any questions let me know!! Thanks. I used myHack 3.2 Beta to create the installer and used a separate MBR patch. - http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3559-new-os-x-109-mavericks-mbr-patch-final-gm/ added the following kexts in /Extras and used myFix to add them (You can use ##### after but the purpose of this post is to ditch it all together) : -3rd Party Sata -IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector -IOPCIFamily -FakeSMC (but later use the one provided on ##### with plugins) -HDAEnabler889 -AppleHDA (for realtek 889) (I downloaded these last two files together) On ML I deleted ATI6000Controller and added it in after install. Simply (backup and) delete it out of /System/Library/Extensions, add it in /Extras/Extensions after, run myFix WITH THIS METHOD I CAN SUCCESSFULLY BOOT INTO THE INSTALL WITHOUT ANY FLAGS OR PROBLEMS. Simply boots into installer on Mavericks. No white screen error like ML. My Hardware: i3 2100 3.10GHz Gigabyte H61M-D2P-B3 (F6) (Downloaded DSDT from Tonyosx forum. idk where else you get them) ASUS EAH-6850 Realtek 889 Audio (Downloaded from OSX86 forum i believe. Came with AppleHDA and HDAEnabler889) I had to do a lot of trial and error. Multi beasts Realtek 889 AppleHda fix did not work for me. Realtek 81xx LAN (i forget haha. google your motherboard and find out. i used lnx2mac) Also "iCloud fix" Its pretty simple process to get App store and iCloud to work. Google it. With these installed i have 0 problems. I am using DVI however because my HDMI doesn't work yet. I know the answers in this forum though. I only use one monitor so its not killing me right now. IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS ABOUT MY INSTALL EVEN THOUGH ITSS OFF TOPIC LMK HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS I HAVE MOVING ON FROM HERE (To Ditch Multi- : I noticed this forum doesn't support Tonyosx86. Im starting to understand why. I still feel dependent on multi-b though. I understand adding a boot loader (i plan to use Clover). These are the stupid things that keep me from ditching multi b: -How do I use my DSDT.aml without Multi-B? -How do I change my already installed Chimera boot loader to Clover? It does not simple install over. -Patches AppleRTC to prevent CMOS resets? (i don't think this affects me I've never had my BIOS pref. reset) -The whole FakeSMC with the plugins that have to match? -Do i need to create my own smbios.plist? Do i need a unique SMSerial? SMboardproduct? Im not even sure if Multi-B adds this file or how it works TBH. -Do i need Apple ACPIPlatform Rollback? -Do you like my sweet nickname Multi-B? Anything else I should know? I have tried restoring InstallESD and using Clover with all my kexts/DSDT with no success. i was stuck at a black screen blinking _ and just went back to my old method i feel like I've spent so much time doing this i don't want to learn anything the hard way anymore. (inevitable) Im sure I'm asking dumb questions that have been answered. I HAVE CHECKED THE FORUM TO SOLVE MY PROBLEMS IVE BEEN ON FORUMS FOR WEEKS, and I've tried to do the hackintosh thing without success for years. Now that i FINALLY have it down my way i feel dumb that I couldn't do it a long time ago, but any help ditching ##### all together would be greatly appreciated. FYI ##### Method DID NOT WORK FOR ME When you use Multi-B it changed your apple logo on boot to a stupid ass apple. They will not brand me! Chimera looks like a childs cartoon. Clover is way ahead in terms of everything. Try it. You'll dig it. I have also read forum posts on here discussing why they do not support TonyOSX. You should also read up and explore other options. Thank you, Anthony Untitled.tiff
