  1. After trying all the kexts and having no success i decided to Install onto an Internal Sata HD rather than the External USB HD that i had used until now. What do you know...... DVD drive is recognised!! So it looks like(al least for my setup) the system needs to see an actual internal SATA HD Connected during OSX Install in-order to read/initialise the DVD drive.....(funny even tho the DVD drive was connected to the first(0) sata port)
  2. Ok, imgonna start again. Try everything you've mentioned, if nothing, ill post in that thread. Thanks for the help! If anyone else can contribute/advise, please do! ... Anything better than nothing! PS- and Yes there is a"IOPCIFamily.kext" in Mavericks. I think im really smoking something....
  3. I am actually running the current Mavericks OS from an external USB drive (i just remembered my self so perhaps the orange/external icons are present because they should be!) Im smoking crack here!.... Im gonna switch the DVD drives sata cable and see what happens. I have noticed there is no "IOPCIFamily.kext" in Mavericks. And actually in order for me to BOOT the system "ncpi=0x2000" needs to be specified. So perhaps this could be linked? There is Lion version but the ML has been deleted http://netkas.org/?p=1053
  4. I forgot to mention, i did also try the "sata.dylib. It is a SATA drive, Chipset: ICH10R. (i dont think it has PATA support) I dont understand what you mean by "which color belongs to which controller". You mean physical appearance/color of the sata slots on the MOBO its -self? If so, there are no suggestions in the manual as to where to connect. The DVD drive is connected to sata (0) slot. Samsung SH-S203N I've had no problems with it while on OSX 10.6.8 Is there a KEXT i could take from 10.6.8 to try and install onto Mavericks?
  5. How about an entry in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist? <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> I also ticked the "Restart Fix" in Chameleon Wizard. Works for me.
  6. Hi all, I've tried the AHCIPortInjector.kext, AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector, IOAHCIFamily.kext(kernelPanic) I've patched the DSDT with DSDT Editor using the "AHCI SATA orange icon" patch. What else can i try? Core2Quad, Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4, 8800GT 512, Samsung SH-S203N Disc drive Thanks!
  7. Managed to have success by adding the "NVDANV50Hal.kext" to S/L/E. Thanks for the help previously!
  8. Ok there is some progress in terms of OSX. The system now does NOT restart but rather the Display/monitor turns-off/goes into Standby. This is the log pic at the time the screen goes blank. Help VERY much appreciated!!!
  9. Well i did find a few settings in the BIOS which i changed.(i used 10.6 for a few years, never seemed to have any problems) However, i cant test it just yet...... For some reason the external USB HD stopped working (not showing up under PC). It happened when i tried to re-install a fresh copy of the OS onto the drive. On my macbook it shows up fine, on the PC, nothing.... I've never had anything like this!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous! Driving me crazy! I've set it to erase/0 over 7 times, i dont know what else.....
  10. Someone? Any suggestion is better than no suggestion.....

  12. Unfortunately, no luck. I've tried a veriety of simmilars. How/where can i find the .log? I've searched the USB drive for a log file but cant find one. var/log doesnt seem to have one.
  13. Hi all, I cant manage to get passed the kexts loading to the install screen. Im using the following guide to prepare/install: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-mavericks/ I also tried another 1 or 2 guides, as well as 10.8. The lasts kexts which are loaded are the 2 TMSafetyNet kexts, immediately after the system reboots. Installed kexts: FakeSMC.kext, NullCPUPowerManagment.kext, custom DSDT, SMbios.plist. I've had 10.6.8 running for what seems like Centuries now with no problems. I've tried EVERY-KIND of System and Bootloader flag (and i mean EVERYTHING!, there is no point in writting them all down) Searching for TMSafetyNet doesnt give very much. Could somebody PLEASE shed me some light! Specs: Core2Quad, Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4, 8800GT 512 Thank you!!!!
