  1. Hi There, A while back now i installed Mountain Lion on What used to be my main hard drive which was partitioned with windows. I recently purchased an ssd and cloned my main Hard drives windows installation onto the ssd and used the old windows partition for storing media. My issue is that i am unable to boot into the Mountain Lion partition which is still there. I had an idea that maybe i could install the iAtkos boot loader (which i used previously) on to the second HD and i could use the bios to boot into that HD and therefore be able to access the iAtkos boot loader. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix my problem then i would be very grateful if you could include a step by step instruction guide as i havent used the mac partition for a while now. Many Thanks, Shenstone
  2. Thanks so much for all your help Duran! I couldent of asked for a better guy . I have posted my fix for the graphics card on the other topic i made if you require it for future reference. Many thanks, Shenstone
  3. It turns out that i carn't install fb-rotate in safe mode so i disabled the Ati7000controller.kext booted in normal mode installed fb-rotate and re-enabled the kext. I then rebooted and typed in my password blind and fb-rotate worked so i now have a fully working graphics card!
  4. Hi everyone, I have made a hackintosh using iAtkos Ml2 and i have a Sapphire HD 7950 graphics card running ML 10.8.3. My problem lies when booting up, i just get a white screenwhen booted using the flags fx_kernel arch=x32_64 GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=deadbeef -f -v. Please note that i have done some reasearch myself to attempt to resolve the issue. Although it appears that i am in the worst possible situation as i don't have a secondary/build in graphics card and my computer can't sleep which are the two main fixes for the problem. I am aware that there is a fix by using fbrotate at startupalthough it doesn't appear to work for me . If anyone has a suggestion for fixing the issue please make a post! Many thanks, Shenstone

EDIT: I was doing some additional reasearch and some sites seemed to suggest that i could do something with a DSDT file or something and it may fix it, is this correct (i found it here:http://rampagedev.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/about-amd-7970-working-with-full-qe/) If anyone has a suggestion for fixing the issue please make a post! Many thanks, Shenstone
  6. I have managed to get the white screen back and i have tried multiple times and different combinations for fbrotate to work although i don't seem to have any luck . I don't have a secondary grahpics card and my computer doesn't support sleep mode which appears to be the worst possible situation to be in for the white screen problem. Do you know if there is any other way to do it or am i out of luck? EDIT: I was doing some additional reasearch and some sites seemed to suggest that i could do something with a DSDT file or something and it may fix it, is this correct (i found it here:http://rampagedev.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/about-amd-7970-working-with-full-qe/)
  7. Ok, so i have repaired the kext with kext utlity and when i boot i get the white screen again so i presume that it is fixed. Although if i boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes i still get the same error i have tried all different combinations of boot flags and i still get the same error: Memory allocation error! Addr: 0xdeadbeef, size 0x0, File: ati.c, Line: 1772 This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! Is this possible to fix? Thanks, Shenstone
  8. I am running Chameleon 2.2 svn r2266 downloaded directly from insanelymac's download page. i have disabled Usb legacy and i still have the same error. I think i know what it may be related to, when i added my graphics card device id to the ati 7000 kext it complained a little later on that it hadn't been configured correctly and that it probably won't work. I believe that because of this, the kext was disabled thus resulting in the white screen going away. I think i may need to repair the kext do you know if i can do this? Thanks, Shenstone p.s. I am using a ps2 keyboard i am not sure if thats a good or a bad thing but i also have a spare usb keyboard if necesery.
  9. Ok so i have updated my bootloader and used the flag GraphicsEnabler=Yes but i get a memory allocation error as follows: Memory allocation error! Addr: 0xdeadbeef, size 0x0, File: ati.c, Line: 1772 This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! All of my boot flags are: fx_kernel arch=x32_64 GraphicsEnabler=Yes Do you know what the problem is and how i can fix it? Many thanks, Shenstone
  10. Hi again, Ok, i have managed to bypass the white screen by booting into safe mode and then adding the device id for my graphics card to the Radeon 7000 series kext. QE/CI still isn't enabled and it still only lets me use 7mb of vram . I have attempted the frame buffer tutorial although the first download link is not avalible and it looks quite hard. Is there just a quick way to get QE/CI and full recognition of all available vram working on my hackintosh? Many thanks, Shenstone
  11. Ok i have updated although i just get a white screen when i attempt to boot the only way i can get into the os is to use GraphicsEnabler=No and -x so i figured it was a kext issue but i am not sure what the kext is. Any ideas? Many Thanks, Shenstone
  12. Hi again, First i would like to thank you so much for all of your great help! I have just one final question, i need to update to 10.7.3 and i am running 10.7.2 for my graphics card to run properly do you have any tips or guides for doing this safely? Many thanks, Shenstone
  13. HI again, Thanks for the advice, I have managed to install mountain lion on my amd machine successfully using iAtkos although when i attempt to boot using the boot flag "fx_kernel" it carn't find the kernel (which was originaly stored on the USB installer) and therefore starts a boot loop. Any ideas? Many thanks, Shenstone
  14. Hi, Thanks for getting back to me My real goal is to get an AMD FX 8320 running mountain lion 10.8.3 or above - need this as native support for my graphics card comes in this update. Or if thats not possible Lion running at 10.7.5 as drivers are also availble for that version. If possible could you guide me in doing this? Many thanks, Shenstone
  15. Hi everyone, I have recently installed Mac OS X Lion on my AMD FX 8350 black edition build. The install went pretty smooth with no issues and i have used Niresh12495 to install it using the amd kernel. I have encountered some strange issues and after extensive research with no luck finding a fix i decided to come here. My issue lies with the applications, i have installed the iLife and iWork suite sucessfully with no errors although if i attempt to run the apps i get the error "<application name> quit unexpectedly". The same also applies for my USB Wi-Fi adapter driver software, i get the same error so i am unable to connect to the internet. It seems that most of the pre-installed apps like iCal and mail and safari seem to work fine its just anything new i install the OS won't run. Here is a complete error log of when i attempted to run GarageBand: Process: Pages [227] Path: /Applications/iWork '09/Pages.app/Contents/MacOS/Pages Identifier: com.apple.iWork.Pages Version: ??? Hope you can help! Thanks
