NVMe native support in 10.13 :)

nvme support is native in High Sierra. Confirmed with Samsung 960 EVO.
  2. use lilu.kext + IntelGraphicsFixup.kext and load with Clover.

    [pre-release] macOS High Sierra

Installation of HS beta 6 on 960 EVO m.2 on a Asrock Z97 Pro4 went smooth on my build. But that said, I never encounterd the firmware update error.

    [pre-release] macOS High Sierra

I fixed it by using the apfs.efi from beta 5 (17A330h) instead of using the one from a previous beta
  5. Hi Saf, I am glad you finally got it working. When you know how to do it, it's not that difficult. And with Clover it just works, stable and fast. I gave myself a gift, a Mac Pro 2008. Something new to get into! I can tell you it's a whole different experience compared to a N40L
  6. maybe this helps: use clover fake id for gpu ati (injection menu) write FBNAME to AMD and write fakeid to: 0x67791002 note: try disable inject amd and edid if blank screen note: select display fix in dsdt fixes in clover I never tried using the internal graphics but never managed to get it working. And now you say it works, kind of Screensharing works ok. No crashes. Did you do a new install with my method (or any other that works?). I am just using clover because I also use that on my Intel machine, but in the beginning I used Chameleon and that worked also very well. In Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan the card was working normally. So the question is what is different in your machine/setup that cause this problem. Edit: As it turns out, I got the Club 3D Radeon HD 6450 CGAX-6452LX1. Maybe if you fake your Sapphire to be this Club 3D, it works?

Do you use SMBIOS: Mac Pro 3,1?
  8. It's probably not the best config file, but my server runs good with it :-) I think you can manage to get it up and running with your current graphics card. Just give it a try with the method I did and described a few pages back in post #284 config.zip
  9. It's all about the right config file. I will post mine here if that will help you. I still wonder why your graphics aren't working...
  10. Well, it really sounds like there is nothing to do about it, sadly. But the gen8 microservers look also very attractive to me. And it may make things easier due to the Intel CPU.
  11. A red light means a critical error has occurred. That is not something you want to see! I know that the system checks the fan speed. If it is running to slow the system wil not boot. But I don't know if that can cause a red light.
  12. Let us know if you manage to install 10.11.x on the Microserver. I am interested in getting that to work. On my Intel system I installed 10.11.3 to overcome the USB 3.0 issues. But that would probably not solve the USB issues on the Microserver you are reporting. Did you by any change have an answer to my question in post #311? much appreciated!
  13. Saf, The ID for my card is also 0x67791002 and also present in the AMDRadeonx3000.kext and AMD6000Controler.kext
  14. You still got graphics issues? That is strange. I choose the HD6450 because it is natively supported. No need to alter kext or anything like that. After install you should replace the kernel, that is correct.
  15. @Edhawk: Thank you for your extensive explanation. But, I switched to Clover now and it works very well. No boot problems or anything like that. You just need the correct settings. The only thing that is not working 100% is de ethernet kext (v2.3.5) for the onboard NIC. Sometimes during high traffic load the driver freezes. This is also explained by the developers of the kext. Do you experience the same problem?
