  1. How do I install a kext from Terminal?

There is a tool for this at Tonym.. ((okay, sorry, I was not aware of the TM problem before)). With it you can install Kext files and run System Utilities on to another volume than your startvolume. Well, I have tried the Terminal approach, but I am not used to Terminal and so could not make it work.
  2. Hey what happened to my link in my post? The whole post is worthless without the guide at http://www.freehandforum.org/snow-leopard-hackintosh.html
  3. Hackintosh Logo

Here is my take at a Hackintosh logo. I just don't like any of the pirate-based symbolic usually found in other Hackintosh logos, because a Hackintosh has nothing to do with piracy - we all have paid for Mac OS X. (Sure, Apple noted it not to be installed on non-apple hardware in the agreement, but such an agreement would never hold up in court. No company can force you to not use a legally purchased product the way you like to - except if you have to hack into it in order to do so. If you buy a book, can the store force you to only read it in your apartment? Sure not.) You can use it at your discretion.
  4. Hello everyone I have a working 10.6.8 machine (I just posted a GUIDE in installing>Snow Leopard by the way). Its all working fine, except one minor thing (but who knows, may indicate a later bigger problem?): During startup, it always hangs for 40 seconds at "Loading Operating System..." until it loads chimera. (Going into Bios always takes about 2 minutes, but I suppose that delay is normal?) I already set my SSD on Sata0 as the first booting disk, I even set booting option to HDD / none / none, to be sure its not checking around. But this did not change anything. I was not able to find out how to enable verbose mode in BIOS (someone in an other forum mentioned that possibility). So for now I only have the usual startup screens before Chimera comes up. The first two checks go really quick. It is on the third when it hangs 40 seconds. Those look like this: (See attached) Appreciate any help. Thom
  5. As new Snow Leopard Hackintoshs are not so common these days anymore, I decided to make a guide about my install.
